1. "The New Middle East"
Leah G ,   Itamar Israel   (08.13.12)
Yeah yeah yeah- Ehuds and Perez and all the orstiches with their heads in the sand- they dreamed of the "New Middle East"- gave weapons to our enemies that killed us during the Oslo "Peace" process, threw Jews out of their homes only for those places to become launching pads for rockets into Yavneh and Beer Sheva- who are we kidding? We can only pray that the rotten to the core will be the Springboard for the new seeds of hope. We can only send our sons to battle for truth and redemption like the way Hashem planned it and try to rectify the pityful mistakes made by those with no G-d and no conscience.
2. There is something wrong with ehud
jason white ,   afula,israel   (08.13.12)
buraq. He needs to be confined to his house and never allowed to enter politics again or address the public. Israel is cursed with the leaders we had and have.
3. sounds like another book
(08.13.12)
sounds like another book on the Bermuda triangle.
4. errr..according to MY book
(08.13.12)
Ehud Barak forced the wussies - Olmert, Dagan and Akshenazi (who are still whining with fear today about attacking Iran) at gunpoint to issue the orders to attack the Syrian reactor. A wussie cannot change their spots....once a wussie, always a wussie.
5. barak-the syrian raid was not reckless
milson   (08.13.12)
Olmert is no one period to draw positive lessons from, zero. However, barak you were wrong about syrian raid, wrong about west bank terror, wrong about running away from the training accident and not helping, wrong about signing off on paintball guns and having commando rappel one at a time into a swarm of turkish machetes without pacifying the deck, wrong about apology to erdogan, wrong about not reacting to lynching of 2 soldiers of ramallah. so ahskenazi and dagan don't trust barak nor do I and I really could care less about bibi's regard for him. He has turned out to be a lousy soldier who does not inspire confidence. He will launch an iran strike cause he is finished. Only if yaalon,. begin and lieberman line up for it will happen. and if barak is in charge like he was the marmora, the raid may not be successful. Bibi is blind
6. Ehud Barak
Fad Egypt   (08.13.12)
wants to attack Iran just to be given credit and increases his popularity so he can save his political life which can end by the dissolution of the knesset and BiBi is naive, he is following his lead , actually , Barak the runaway minister cant lead a military action against Iran i believe that Israel can stop Iran without attacking it by attacking its long arm Hizbullah , if Israel launched a military operation against Hizbullah ( something is going to happen if Iran is attacked whether by Israel or the US) , the international community will force a ceasefire on Israel and Iran will push so hard to achieve a ceasefire to save its ally Hizbullah from being destroyed , so Israel will demand the freeze of the nuclear activities of Iran in exchange of the ceasefire , if Iran refused to give in , Israel will be forced to attack it , but in that case the situation will be much easier as there wont be Hizbullah , because Israel will face only the threats of the Iranian ballistic missiles which are only 300 hundered missiles , Iran wont fire them all on Israel , and they can be intercepted by the missile defense system batteries , but Hizbullah rockets and projectiles are thousands in number , can reach any point in Israel and cant be intercepted by any defense system also el Assad wont be able to fire any missiles against Israel without Hizbullah as he cant fire them directly , from Syria also the deterrence of Israel will improve and many enemies will understand Israel strength especially Hamas but i am against attacking Iran before Hizbullah and especially if that happened without the US coordination shalom
7. Peres planned to go public plans to attack Iraq to stop it
zionist forever   (08.13.12)
In 1981 leader of the opposition & deputy PM Peres and considered to be father of Israel's nuclear program was against hitting Iraq. Peres was against attacking Saddam Hussain's nuclear reactor in 1981 because he was worried about diplomatic fallout with France who were building the thing for Saddam. When Begin ignored the objections Peres planned to go public with the plan ( no element of surprise useless plan ). Begin had to move up the attack behind Peres back so it could be carried out before Peres went and told the world all about the plan which would have allowed Saddam to get nukes and he was a much bigger threat than Iran could ever be. Barak is of course against attacking Syria's WMDS unless Assad hands them over to Hezbollah as if they are the only ones who might use them. How do we know Assad won't decide he wants to go down a hero and fire them at Israel, cause mass casualties be hero of the hour before he goes? What if the FSA some some splinter group get their hands on them and then them and they are in no hurry to make peace so use them to threaten Israel? Israel's left wing politicians are a bunch of morons who are more concerned with the countries image abroad than they are its security.
8. spies like Meir Dagan have been
D Kaplan   (08.13.12)
spies like Meir Dagan have been lying, creating fear & exaggerating ever since the time of Moses: "But the spies who had gone up with him said, "We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we." And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, "The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight."
9. Israeli leadership is our biggest problem.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.13.12)
Ehud Barak symbolizes much that is wrong with Israeli politics; which is: 1. Lack of common sense. 2. Lack of courage to do what must be done. Alas, Barak is far from the only Israeli leader with these problems. That is why Israel's current leadership is our biggest problem. It is why most of Israel's problems begin in the Knesset. Not in Washington, Ramallah, Paris, London etc.
10. Good sound logic, Fad
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (08.13.12)
Question is... would Iran get involved to save Hezbollah....or Hamas, for that matter?
11. since he left IDF, when has barak been right about anything?
rick ,   walnut creek   (08.13.12)
when has barak been right about anything? the concessions, under gunfire, to the old terrorist from ramallah? the panicked and disorderly retreat from lebanon? failure to protect IDF troops? carte blanche, for development, given to waqf on Temple Mount? support for apology to ankara? barak is a complete fool. if he happens to be right about anything, it is purely by chance. let him go home and read his travel magazines and shopping catalogs...just keep him away from decisions on policy.
12. correction
Golan ,   Modiin   (08.13.12)
1981, not 1991...
