31. Reply to Number 8
Steve Grumman ,   Tucson, U.S.A.   (08.14.12)
True! I don't live in Israel nor do I live in Iran. But Israel is attempting to lure my country into attacking Iran. Therefore I have something to say on the matter. If Israel wants to start and get into a conflict in Iran, fine. But it is not my country's business nor do I (and a majority) of my countrymen want to see our country embroiled in something that has nothing to do with us. Killing American soldiers or citizens in any war is our business. They are not expendable for foreign states!
32. Sarah B, is actually 10 years old, why is YNET posting her?
Steven Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (08.14.12)
33. Shelly ..
Alice ,   ISRAEL/CANADA   (08.14.12)
How dare you, Shelly Thomas, to consider Israel not responding to all the attacks formulated against her on a daly basis and not going to war for it's survival, just because it's going to cause the US some economic hardships etc. etc.. Know one thing, Israelis wars were fought solely by ISRAELIS SOLDIERS, not by any other army. During the Gulf war Israel was attacked by Irak with scuds and we didn't respond. It was't easy but we didt it for the sake of the US.... All your considerations bare no weight . The survival of ISRAEL AND THE JEWISH PEOPLE TAKES PRECEDENCE. JEWISH PEOPLe.
34. Let's do it! No more stalling,.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.14.12)
Had Israel listened to mainly leftist fear mongers, we'd have allowed Saddam Hussein to build nukes. He almost certainly would have used them against us. We know we must destroy Iran's nukes. We know Iran threatens us with genocidal nuclear attacks. Let's do it! No more stalling.
35. right or wrong
tom ,   toronto, canada   (08.14.12)
whether all these considerations are right or wrong, a much important factor is: will a war with iran be better or worse, once iran has nuclear weapons? that eliminates the question of "whether" and "when", and boils it down to "how". there are several options, sabotage, covert action, airstrikes, all-out war, regime change, etc., none of which are mutually exclusive. but the time to act is now, before the mullahs can build a bomb.
36. #9
James ,   Tel Aviv   (08.14.12)
Weird logic... how about yours? I can just see half a million Revolutionary Guards crossing three international borders to attack Israel.. what a whole lot of bull cookies. I can just imagine the Sunnis in Iraq and Syria allowing Iran passage for its armies. Nevermind the fact that they need logistical support, Israel will sit idle? We will pick them apart before they will even cross the Euphrates.
37. #12 Crooksmeister, I have to strongly disagree with you
Simon ,   Israel   (08.14.12)
You're missing a rather "tiny" little difference here - being that the Iranian regime has been ceaselessly speaking of destroying what they refer to as Zionists, meaning the 6 million Jews living in Israel... so speculating over Israel's having nuclear weapons as an argument for letting Iran develop those weapons as well, in not much of an argument at all... As to Benjamin Netanyahu and Ehud Barak, they just happen to be in the government at the time. If it hadn't been them it would have been someone else having to deal with the Iranian regime's outspoken wish to annihilate the Zionists. i.e. Jews.
38. I see Sarah b is ignoring hitory again
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (08.14.12)
so as to fit events to her own personal narrative to fit her world view. In 2006 Hezbollah was not closed down. In 201 Hezbollah will not be closed down. And Iran will not be satisfied with a couple of missiles and bombing an Israeli embassy someplace. Israelis will pay for netanyahu's legacy for years if not decades. Notwithstanding that it must be extremely offensive for those in the firing line to have to read posts from someone thousands of miles away declaring that Israeli casualties are acceptable in the sure knowledge it won't be her or a member of her family.
39. #12
Madeleine ,   Rehovot Israel   (08.14.12)
Well you don't live here, do you. You live thousands of miles from anywhere, at the ends of the earth and no fallout from any war is ever going to affect you. Israel is not, and never has, threatened to nuke any other country or wipe it off the face of this earth. You just don't have a clue about the realities of life here.
40. #25
Madeleine ,   Rehovot Israel   (08.14.12)
You people make me sick. You sit in your comfortable homes and dare to tell us how to defend our country. American shores have never been threatened, and the American people have never lived under war and hardships - do you even know what a bomb shelter, or sealed room are? When we took out the reactor at Osirik you and the rest of your ilk were up in arms but I think a lot more of y our countrymen would have been coming home in body bags - bits of your countrymen, I mean - than eventually did in 1991. So you see, little Israel does America's dirty work for her. As for you Moslem president, he has his own agenda.
41. Strategy...
Adam Neira ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.14.12)
Napoleon said "Strategy is the art of using time and space well". Not bad for the little Corsican. Things really are at a critical juncture on the world geo-political stage. There are many timetables. Jewish - 5772; Christian/Gregorian - 2012; Muslim - 1433; Iranian nuclear enrichment Red Line - Soon ? The divine timetable will trump them all. How much is a human life worth ? Any “genius” strategists out there who are currently doing the math and deciding that a little war is justified and it is ok if 1,000 Israelis, 10,000 American servicemen and 1,000,000 Iranians die are actually extreme dunces. The sabre rattling must stop. There is a peaceful solution to the Iran/West imbroglio. At least a 5% GDP growth rate from 2013 is possible for all nations in the region if the right moves are made, Persia included. Prayers for the Middle East. May the spirit of wisdom rest on the shoulders of various "leaders" in the coming hours, days and weeks.
42. Iran
Albi ,   Ashkelon   (08.14.12)
To all you AIPAC people who inflated our leader's ego and allowed him to humiliate the U.S.president on his own turf, we look forward to receiving you when the bombs start falling, or, better yet, bring your children also. Our own gung-ho folks underestimate the enemy, like they did in '73 and in the last 3 wars which we started and lost--the 18 year war in Lebanon, Lebanon 2, and in Gaza where we achieved none of our goals against a 5th rate force. After 3 years of threatening Iran and telling them we will attack, it's a wonder they haven't made a pre-emptive strike first. Surely they are prepared and ready to react. Are we? Hubris is very dangerous indeed.
43. The Shiite-Nazi mutants in Tehran must be stopped. Period.
Jake ,   USA   (08.14.12)
As bad as a conflagration with Iran may be, it will most certainly not threaten Israel's existance in any way. However, a nuclear armed Iran who financially & militarily backs vicious terrorist organizations on Israel's borders will most definitely threaten Israel's existence. Thankfully, Israel's current leadership understands this, and has vowed to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons capability. Yes, it is easier for me to say this in the U.S., but I have several family members living in Israel, as well as 7million+ Jews who I also consider family. The Shiite-Nazi mutants in Tehran must be stopped. Period.
44. #25, then don't get involved, oh wait...
Jake ,   USA   (08.14.12)
The U.S. always gets involved. Not to help Israel, but rather to perpetuate its dominance of the region. But by all means keep blaming Israel, if it makes you feel better.
45. Goal should be BALANCE via SECURE BIG ISRAEL (buffer zones).
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (08.14.12)
46. Risking 500 casualties versus millions of casualties.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.14.12)
Israel may be risking 500 casualties when we destroy Iran's nukes. However, if we fail to do so; we risk millions of casualties and having our sole tiny Homeland become uninhabitable. The decision couldn't be simpler.
47. Steve # 8
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (08.14.12)
Killing American soldiers or citizens in any war is our business. They are not expendable for foreign states We seemed to think they were expendable in Vietnam and Korea.
48. #25 SO MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS
DA RAP ARTIST ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (08.14.12)
How DARE you tell us what to do ? mind your own .
49. of course iran will win.
inconito   (08.14.12)
iran will eventually " win " because: the goal is to prevent them from having nuclear deterrence. but unfortunately for israel, even the US army admited, the best they can do is to delay them, said Gen James Mattis current heard of CENTCOM. maybe you can delay them, but it will make sur iran get bomb a bit later... by leaving the NPT no one will be able to find all new rebuild iranians facilitie, more hiden, more numerous. and they will succeed. the iranian nuclear test is the best victory for iran, yes the best . after years of proclaiming we will prevent blah blah blah iran from bla bla the nuclear test not need any interpretation
50. #18 obama was elected !
inconito   (08.14.12)
obama speaks for Americans who elected him, and who are likely to elect him again. if the choice of the majority does not suit you, why not leave the united states? until, you have no choice but to hit you head against the wall
51. #43 messianic netanyhau can't say all he want
inconito   (08.14.12)
NO iran will not be stopped. they will obtain nuclear deterrence, what israeli's leader vowed is not revelent since even James Mattis, the current head of CENTCOM admited " only iranian people can stop this programme " in other words, they will gets nuclear deterrence even after a confrontation with the US. so let US laugh that israel can achiev what even the US can't short of an invasion and occupation. once again... what barack n co vowed is not revelent. iran need deterrence to counter israel weapons. they will succeed.
52. #12 You can't believe....
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (08.14.12)
because you have no imagination. Do you really think a missile is the only way to deliver a weapon?
53. Iran strikes
attal ,   paris& france   (08.14.12)
This is the most amazing thing among Nathaniahu errors: there was a break with Turkey, let him do the revolutions of the Arab spring, the end of bilateral negotiations with Palestine, The summit is to make us believe that bombing is as effective as it can stop the Iranian nuclear program, even bombing itself is very random and in fact these actions would suffer are risks to the population, strengthen the clan extremist and accelerate the process of destroying the Jewish state
54. #32 Better ask yourself why YNET is posting you?.....
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (08.15.12)
....So we can all be treated to a good laugh...........HA HA HA HA HA!
55. AMERICANS
DANNY TAWIL ,   ENGLAND   (08.14.12)

56. steve grumman
DANNY TAWIL ,   ENGLAND   (08.15.12)
WE DONT NEED YOUR F........ SOLDIERS ITS AMERICA THAT HAS ALWAYS STOPPED ISRAEL FROM GOING THE WHOLE WAY, NOW WE ARE GOING TO ACT ON OUR OWN, ANWAY YOUR PRESIDENT IS A WEAKLING.
57. WAIT FOR IT MR AHMINADAJAD
DANNY TAWIL ,   ENGLAND   (08.15.12)
SOON YOU WILL NO WHAT A HYDROGEN BOMB CAN DO, AS THEY LAND ON TEHERAN AND ALOVER IRAN, NO ONE BUT NO ONE THREATENS ISRAEL DO YOU GET IT. INCOGNITO
58. why an attack is a bad idea
inconito   (08.15.12)
there is a good reason why an attack is a stupid idea : an attack will never prevent a nuclear iran anyway.... as simple as that.
59. on condition
Duan Cohen ,   austin, TX, USA   (08.15.12)
If Israel decides to attack unilaterally their people should fight (especially orthodox draft dodgers). The US should only support w/ drones and any technology controlled from afar so that NO AMERICAN lives are lost. After all this would not be our war and Iran can't harm us. Israel has more to lose w/ this gamble and Saudi Arabia, where terrorism is nurtured, has everything to gain.
60. what if the USA doesnt join in?
moishe pippik ,   nyc usa   (08.15.12)
The USA tells Israel to wait. Israel doesn't wait sand attacks anyway. Why would the USA or any country then defend the country that went explicitly against their own policy, probably endangering Americans as a result? this really makes no sense unless you buy the most extreme Judeophobic fantasies that Israel "controls" America. America is sick of wars and economic instability. No one ever questions just why it is so important to keep Iran from having nuclear weapons when many other countries including North Korea (!), Pakistan, and Israel itself have them. If Iran got them they'd never use them except to defend themselves because of mutually assured destruction. What if Iran's response was to mount an invasion of Israel? What if Iran responded so aggressively that Israel was forced to retaliate with nuclear weapons itself? You have not thought this through enough.
