Iran can't sustain conventional war. It' air defense is joke. Communications and transportation will be paralyzed in a week. That wouldn't be outright defeat if population would be willing to fight as Russians in WWII. But most of Iranian population is not willing to fight. Even fundamentalists are only willing to shout and may be to linch dozen unarmed victims. Not to fight and suffer for years. Most of Iranian population just want to live and live well. They unable to struggle without electricity, gas, daily food and water deliveries and sanitation - regime will just crumble. They are too civilized - they are not Somalians. Israel survived in a lot more aggressive surrounding with suicide bombers and raids of fanatics for ages.

When Iran is FINALLY taken out, the world will breathe a sigh of relief and quietly experience the elation that comes along with seeing tyrants fall to ash. There are many who ask for an Israeli strike but ONLY on nuke facilities and not civilian targets. Not everyone in Iran likes the idea of them having nukes and a large part of the population doesn't like the Mullah regime at all. If you think they will all rise up against Israel, you're mistaken. Iranian society is fractured.

Everyone knows, and Iran has admitted this freely, that the IDF won't be the first targeted. First, it will be civilians in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem. Second, Dimona as if anything is there. and finally, the IDF. While it doesn't make sense to normal military analysts who know that a proper policy is to hit the opposing force initially, these are Islamist elements who using terrorist methods, and those methods are - attacking civilians often.

Because Iran (and Muslims in general) have been screwed (mostly by their own hands) for a very long time. May G-d allow it to continue ad infinitum.

sadly, the iranians do manage to press buttons; they recognize the inherent contadictions in the israeli situation and cleverly exploit them. Unfortunately, this israeli rightwing, settler-led government does not want a Palestinian state and pusues a long term policy to effectively annex the entire west bank inch by inch, and increasingly sequester the Palestinians who manage to hang on under increasingly draconian conditions.
