The first is that Israeli kids are brainwashed and indoctrinated by their parents, the education system and the army to hate Arabs, demonising them and dehumanising them. This is racism. The second problem is the ongoing occupation of Palestinian land and the refusal on the part of Israel to apologise for its crimes in 1948 of stealing that land and destroying about 500 villages. Underneath the viciousness in these kids is not just racist fear but a deep guilt and unease. Atonement is the only way out.

You need look no further than what happened to the Fogel family to understand why Israeli kids might hate arabs. The Pals had an opportunity in 1948 to have their own country and they refused.
