1. That doesn't fit together
(08.21.12)
MK Shemtov says that "[...German] teenagers [...] seeking forgiveness and absolution from the Holocaust survivors." and "[...] children should not bear their parents sins as a mark of Cain." Is a German teenager only responsible for the present and future (learning from history, not repeating old mistakes, etc.), or also for the past? And if not for the latter, why should they ask for forgiveness then?
2. #1 - you are ignoring the larger picture....
Andy ,   Washington, DC   (08.21.12)
Of reconciliation and peace.
3. 1 Children don t bear their parents ...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.21.12)
sins,at the condition they act differently. With this march they prove that they dissociate with their parents horrible behaviour . They are great.
4. Children of Nazis
Fliss ,   Sydney, Australia   (08.21.12)
I feel sorry for those who had Nazis as parents after-all they didn't choose their parents. What a horrible burden to grow up with.
5. #3 "parents horrible behaviour"
(08.21.12)
A teenager of today has parents born in the 70s and grandparents born in the 40s. So you mean they dissociate with their grand-grandparents behaviour. However, yes, they are great by facing their country's history.

Wrong. Even had these teenagers followed in their grandparents'(!) footsteps, they would still not be responsible for what the Nazi's did. You cannot set conditions for that, I am very sorry. I am Jewish and determined to lay blame where due, and that is not with the Nazi's grandchildren, even if said grandchildren are neo-Nazi's in their own right. Personal blame is not inheritable.
7. in addition to #6
Gabriel ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (08.21.12)
Any neo nazi grand-children are to blame, however, for a whole new set of things.
8. 7 Gabriel ,may be "responsible"...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.21.12)
is not the right term.Punished is more adequate. Children of evildoers have a bad reputation , are regarded with contempt ...with all it s consequences .
9. Gabriel
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.21.12)
Neo nazis are to blame , they did not learn anything from their country's history .
10. German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp (1940-1945)
Jarek ,   ToruĊ„, Poland   (08.21.12)
I don't understand why the author writes about the Polish Extermination camps, the official name (UNESCO) is "German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp (1940-1945)" . Prior name- Auschwitz Birkenau was changed so that people were not misleading by names such as "Polish extermination camps". Murdered in Auschwitz were also Poles.
11. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.21.12)
But only Jews were murdered at Belzec and Treblinka. The trains that went there came directly from the Jewish ghettos.

Walt K ,   Sherbrooke, Canada   (08.21.12)
and Neo nazis are not biologicaly related to WW2 Nazis... today the nazy ideology is spreading among people who would be killed by the original one.
13. 50 out of around 15 million of German teens ,...
split ,   US   (08.21.12)
Impresive ;) How long are going to keep rubbing it in? ,... By the way those were Germany's not Poland's extermination camps ,...
14. Reconciliation between Germans and Jews
Nelson Mason ,   Monticello, NY USA   (08.22.12)
You've got to start somewhere! Give Elie Wiesel a lot of credit for having the courage to address the Bundestag in Berlin in 1989. That was very important. The Almighty creates enmity and resolves enmity. Only the Holy One knows where this will lead.
15. Correction
Nelson Mason ,   Monticello, NY USA   (08.22.12)
Elie Wiesel addressed the Bundestag in Berlin in 2000, not 1989.
16. 14 Nelson,Elie Wiesel forgives..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.22.12)
but don t forget. So do we.
17. no #11
Alon ,   JHB   (08.22.12)
yes, but so were Gypsies!!!
18. # 5 Now, Europe has a neo nazi movement
Big bad Jew ,   United States   (08.23.12)
mostly arabs in Europe who can't live in peace with anyone, even themselves. Germany is rather ideal for anti semites after Luther condemned the "Jews and their lies". And, to think that Luther was the first "protestant" movement. ( with all the same Vatican 'reasoning' for murdering Jews) If not for America and her Protestants, the Europeans would still be murdering Jews on a scale never seen before. Personally, Germany will never out live her holocaust removing lives as they would weeds. NEVER AGAIN NEVER FORGET!!!!
