roger ,   zurich switzerland   (08.21.12)
I've travelled everywhere and Israeli Jews are the most racist people I've encountered.
32. #30 Immigrants
roger ,   zurich switzerland   (08.21.12)
Palestine was invaded and occupied by European Ashkenazi Khazar descendants who have nothing to do with the land and are not indigeneous or semitic and have absolutely no biological connection with the ancient Judeans. It's all a big lie. You are illegal non-indigeneous squatters who destroyed 500 palestinian villages and stole their land. Israel still has not apologised for these crimes and the population is in massive pathological denial about all this, which is why the racisnm continues and now is directed at the Sudanese and Ethiopeans.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.21.12)
No, she applied for asylum on humanitarian grounds, which was granted. She cannot claim refugee status because of having crossed two borders.
34. Sudanese do speak Arabic; a official language

35. Israeli and ashamed
Ruth ,   israel   (08.21.12)
Firstly for the racists ignorant remarks in the comments. Secondly because we were a people that no one wanted and suffered the same treatment, yet it seems as a nation we just have not learnt. Has anyone heard of TIKUN, well if we dont learn the same thing will happen to us again until we do, sorry to say.
36. if returing to sudan is an option why is she still here
zionist forever   (08.21.12)
" Yet the conditions they are living in and Eilati local's decision has forced them to consider the option of going back to Sudan " I thought we were supposed to be deporting Sudanese to South sudan which is now safe. If this woman considers going home to be a viable option if Israel doesn't give her all the nice things she wants then she is willing to consider returning then there is obviously no need for her to still be here. If she was worried about her life she would not even consider returning to Sudan because discrimination here is better than death. All this proves is there an increased need for detention centres where we can keep people locked up for years until their future is decided. In a detention centre they get schooling, accomodation, food and medicine. The more comfortable we make the more it desirable Israel looks to other people in the thrid world looking for a better life or to escape persecution, do we want refugees coming here or other safe countries? In this case the court will probably rule in favor of the Sudanese but we need to be working on ways to deport these people not help them settle into life in Israel.
37. CONCERN
LUIGI ,   CAPE TOWN, ZA   (08.21.12)
As a Zionist I am first to point out any demographic threat, but children and adults who have been cleared to stay in Israel as these have should be allowed to attend schools in Israel. In this way we not only distinguish ourselves from the nations around us, but take hold of the opportuntiy to allow these people to embolden the values of the Jewish state and take it back as ambassadors to their brothers. With the racist and ignorant comments unintended or not, for the first time I feel ashamed to be associated with some of these 'zionists'. We have been illegal migrants many timesn letds not forget that.
38. This is horrible
Grace ,   California,US   (08.21.12)
God has mandated several times that children should not be punished yet Israel keeps doing it.
39. To: No. 27
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.21.12)
But the Russians who came to Israel (at least most of them) are Jewish. Moreover, they demonstrated a willingness to learn Hebrew and a desire to integrate into Israeli society. Such is not the case with the Sudanese, Eritrean and other illegal migrants, many of whom could have availed themselves of an opportunity to learn Hebrew -- free of charge -- simply couldn't be bothered. That calls into question their motives for even coming to the State of Israel. It certainly isn't because they have a desire to integrate into Israeli society. The first and best way to do that is to LEARN THE LANGUAGE!

children to attend schools. All this trouble started in kitchens of Eilat Sin Palaces(Hotels) where Africans were given jobs washing floors and pots for chickenfeed wages! SaraB is RIGHT ... Let them be bussed to North TA Schools where we will see what the bleeding hearts will do. As she says in UK AND SA Jews dont send their kids to Govt schools.Als in USA ,mostly where its neccessary!!

RACISM...
43. Face it Sarah B...
Ethiopian Jew ,   Israel   (08.21.12)
Israel is multicolored. I am black and I am proud. I belong in Israel more than you will ever do. I do not list next to my name Israel/ U.S.A... I only use Israel...
44. Alexander
Gregg ,   Haifa IL   (08.21.12)
Jews belong to Israel as Phenicians did, as Christians do (roman empire), as Muslims do (ottoman empire), as Canaanites did, as philistines did and so on.. And for you info, I might not be Jewish (and not ashamed about it) but I definitely belong here since I work, bought a house and I'm married to an Israeli guy. And because of that Israel even gave me citizenship so I can proclaim my thoughts and vote!
45. #43
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (08.21.12)
Sarah B. and others are not complaining because Israel is multiracial. Fine by the vast majority of us. What she and I and others are on about is the situation of illegals. That these illegals are African is basically irrelevant - they are illegal, and Israel hasn't resources or room for them. No one has a bone to pick with you, a black Jew who is legally in the country.
46. #30 Alexander
Gregg ,   Haifa, IL   (08.22.12)
By the way - I am an Italian citizen, therefore descendant of a Roman family - I can claim that Israel (and the whole Mediterranean Sea) is my people's country too...

48. To: No. 43
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.22.12)
That's because you are only a citizen of Israel. You will note that quite a few dual citizens list both countries of their citizenship in identifying themselves on their talkbacks. Moreover, you are not an illegal migrant from Africa. But since we are both Jews, I would say that we both belong in Israel. Your talkback is therefore both absurd and inapposite.
49. To: No. 46
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.22.12)
Sure. Except the ancient Roman Empire was defeated, right? And unless you can claim roots to a citizen of Rome, you could very easily have been Thracian, or Greek, or Carthaginian, or anyone who was brought back to Rome as a slave and was never freed or allowed to become a citizen of Rome. But why not start small? See if you can get the Croatians to return the province of Istria.
50. To: No. 42
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.22.12)
My objections have nothing to do with race, you moron. They have to do with the fact that illegal migrants (who happen to come from Africa and who have no desire or willingness to integrate themselves into Israeli society; and who cannot be bothered to learn the language) should not be allowed to become a burden on the Israeli taxpayer, and their children should not be allowed to hold back the progress of Israeli children. That said, Arabic is one of the official languages of the Sudan. Why can't such children be integrated into schools where Arabic is the language of instruction?
51. 32
Jennieq ,   Israel/US   (08.22.12)
Congratulation !!! Yours is the most idiotic uneducated post, very rarely published on this board...Could it be too much of the fresh air in Zurich ?
52. Ethiopians are more Middle Eastern than African!
Albert ,   Toronto   (08.22.12)
Dude, Ethiopians are much closer racially and culturally to the Middle East than to Africa. Many Ethiopians do not consider themselves black, and you should not either!
53. 43
zionist forever   (08.22.12)
Sarah B is correct. A refugee is supposed to present themselves at the first safe country and claim asylum, its not like tourism where you say I think thats the best country for me to start fresh soI will just keep going until I reach my destination of choice. If this woman is willing to go back to Sudan just because she doesn't like the way she is being treated in Israel does she belong in Israel? South Sudan is a safe country they are originally from Sudan so why can't they go back, its not like they are Jewish and have a right to be here.
54. #49 - Israel Kingdom
Gregg ,   Haifa, IL   (08.22.12)
Israel kingdom was also defeated in 722 BCE... by the Assyrian Empire !
55. To: No. 54
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.22.12)
Your point?
56. Key word
Tony ,   Farmington Hills, MI   (08.22.12)
The key word in the article is "illegal migrants" if they are there against the law then they need to be deported out of the country. You cannot disrespect the rule of law, that would be unfair to the legal migrant immigrants.
57. To nr 31 and 32
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.23.12)
So "Israeli Jews" (braindead comments since Israelis and Jews are the same ethnic group. It's like speaking of German Germans and English Englishmen - oh well...) are the "biggest racists" on earth but in talkback nr 32 you claim we are "European Khazars". So are we "Israeli Jews" or "European Khazars"? Provide a single proof for Jews not being "biologically" related to the ancient Israelites/Judeans (we are biologically related to the ancient Israelites and the modern population of the Middle East - including Arabs, Kurds and Iranians. Truth hurts eh?) and provide a single proof for a single non Jewish civilization in existence today which is native to the land of Israel and had a kingdom or state at the same time or prior to the Jews in ancient Israel. If you can't, keep your mouth shut. Thank you.
58. Alexander, to answer your braindead comments:
Gregg ,   Haifa, IL   (08.23.12)
Israeli Jews Israeli Arabs Muslims Israeli Arabs Christians Israeli Arabs Druzes Israeli Christians Israeli Muslims Israeli Buddhists etc... Neither all Israelis are Jews nor Jews are Israelis
59. To nr 44/46/54 - So? Israel exists even today as we speak
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.23.12)
Most of the civilizations you mentioned don't. And the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Egyptians, the Hittites, the Edomites, the Philisteens, the Phoenicians, the Canaanites and the Romans are extinct civilizations - without having any native or historical connections to Israel (they were foreigners and imperialists in Israel) unlike the native and historical Jewish population that has lived in Israel for 4000 years - longer than any other nation. Only the Canaanites - closely related to the Israelites and intermarried with the Israelites 3000 years ago, could claim native and historical rights as well. The problem is that no Canaanite civilization exists today. Christians are a religion - not a nation. They don't belong in Israel. They can live here as foreigners. Moslems are a religion - not a nation. They don't belong here. They can too live here as foreigners. Neither Arabs nor Turks are native to Israel. Arabs are native to southwestern Arabia and Turks are native to central Asia! There will be no "sharing" of land and national rights in Israel! Non Jews are strangers in Israel. Accept it. Learn some history and geography you moron! Of all the living nations today, only the Jews can claim to be the native and historical population (settled population - not nomads) and owners of the entire land of Israel. Only the Jews have national rights to Israel. Non Jews, meaning foreigners and strangers like yourself have only civil rights in Israel - which is proven by the very fact that you admit Israel is a democratic society. But even democracies have limits to their tolerance, and treason, demographic warfare against Israel and anti-Semitism cannot be tolerated.
60. To nr 58 - It's your comment that is braindead
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.23.12)
Israeli does not only signify citizenship. It signifies ethnicity first and foremost. While all Jews are Israelis in an ethnic sense all Jews are not Israelis as far as their citizenship are concerned. Non Jews in Israel are no Israelis - merely Israeli citizens. Most of us ethnic Israelis/ethnic Jews will agree with me on that. In the same way, we can all Albanians, Greeks and Germans with Italian citizenship "Italian" but we all know that there is a difference between ethnic Italians and Italian citizenship. Italian is both ethnicity and citizenship just like German is both ethnicity and citizenship just like Polish is both ethnicity and citizenship. While all German citizens have German citizenship, all German citizens are not ethnic Germans. When I speak of Israelis I always speak of ethnicity - never of citizenship. A Jew without an Israeli citizenship is still an ethnic Israeli. You Gregg are an anti-Semitic non Jew with an Israeli citizenship. But you will never be or become Israeli as far as your ethnicity is concerned. Israel is not a nation state for Arabs, Moslems, Christians or Druze. Stop pretending that Israel is a "mutlicultural" society which non Jews can claim as their own and make Jews once again foreigners in their ancient homeland. Israel is a Jewish state - indicated by the purpose to the existence of the state and the identity of the state. Just like Italy is a nation state for Italians - but I never heard you claim that an Italian nation state only for the Italian people is "racism". Deliver any argument Gregg - I'll dismantle everyone of them one by one. The whole conflict Gregg is dependent on the fact that you hate Jews and Israel, and paradoxically live in Israel and don't accept a Jewish nation state while all other nations on earth you take for granted. That's called racism and anti-Semitism.
