1. Are they labelling goods from occupied Kurdistan? Cyprus?
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (08.23.12)
Obviuosly they have nothing to worry about at home or next door or with their non aligned comrades Time for another UN- Durban hatefest. Ya Tutu
2. Good news boycott the illegal settlements
David ,   NY USA   (08.23.12)
This is good news, consumers should know where their products that they are buying originate from. The illegal settlers are a cancer in the body of Israel and buy boycotting goods made by the settlers clearly sends a message that the world will not tollerate these violent illegal settlers. We hope to spread the campaign world wide with the aim of hitting them hard financialy.
3. I am in Cape Town right now...
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (08.23.12)
and believe me, this particular issue is the last thing on people's minds.
4. Just look at who is running the country, enuf said.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (08.23.12)
5. The Reality
Paul ,   South Africa   (08.23.12)
The reality is that the government in this country has been for a long time infiltrated by muslims with hidden agendas, leading the black members of parliament by their noses. Google South Africam MP's & see how many muslim names come up. Islam first, South Africa second.
6. Shame on you SoutH Africa!
Anshel ,   Toronto, Canada   (08.23.12)
7. Simple answer - refuse
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.23.12)
Do not do any such thing and if they don't buy our products - then we will sell them elsewhere. We are not answerable to any other government on the planet.
8. Question
Zyx ,   US   (08.23.12)
They enforce what? How can they control the labeling? This decision is just as stupid as it is inapplicable. It is only a pretext to justify a despicable domestic policy and, more importantly, a first step toward a more discriminatory boycott for instance at universities. This is a first step to deligitimizing Israel. Shame on SA.
9. Well, two can play this game. And SA will lose.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (08.23.12)
Of the two brands of Pear Juice I've been buying lately, one has a Made in South Africa label, which I only recently spotted. The other is Made in the USA. It's more expensive, but better. Now I've got another reason to Buy American.
10. "David" the settlements are not illegal!
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (08.23.12)
When are you removing your " illegal" settlement? Get the hell out of Indian. Land now! Jews have been in the WB contuously long before the Arab invaders or your settlement conquest and unconscionable Purchases
11. Are there any S. African products sold here in Israel?
Patriotic Israeli ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.23.12)
Is a grassroots BOYCOTT of South African products possible?
12. SA slaughters mine workers - and then judge Israel?
Shep ,   Memphis, TN - USA   (08.23.12)
I saw a video on youtube of an incident a few days ago where South African troops open fire on hundreds of black miners, killing dozens and injuring hundreds. It is the height of hypocrisy when that country thinks it can judge Israel...a country that has used humane crowd dispersal techniques whenever possible.
13. Removing Made in Israel label a distraction
R. Brosilow ,   Rehovot, Israel   (08.23.12)
Not enough for them that their miners are striking and being massacred by thier police, they have to do this.
14. Who is wise?
zelig ,   memphis u.s.a.   (08.23.12)
The answer is this:One who learns from everyone...and,in this instance, from China. China has no scruples when it comes to copying western goods.Phony rolex watches, gucci bags etc are in abundance throughout the world.Just start relabelling the products from Judea and Samaria as "Made by the Peace Loving People of Palestine" ,sell South Africa their "stuff" and move on to another issue. This boycott stuff is getting a little long in the tooth!
15. Not representative of most South Africans
Kim ,   SA   (08.23.12)
This is the the opinion of our government and not the man in the street. There were recently two marches in SA opposing this move numbering well into the thousands. Most people who have a clue about Israel are opposed to this. It has been pushed through in order to 'curry favor' (and votes) with minorities of the South African community who are anti-Israel. This is nothing but cheap politicing.
16. #3 - Noodles
Devorah   (08.23.12)
Are you bringing us a souvenier?
17. Its funny, really
Amused ,   South Africa   (08.23.12)
Our protestors hack the police to death. Our police mow down our protestors. Our crime rate is close to the highest in the world. But yes, lets worry about where our fruit comes from. Lets tell another country how to run their things. Seeing that we are obviously proving so successful at it. Africa makes me miss the peace and stability of the Middle East.
18. We thought racism in South Africa was a thing of the past...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.23.12)
Yet, anti-Jewish racism has never died and it has not faded away. Anti-Jewish racism in South Africa is live and kicking as it has been for many years, and now being expressed against the sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel. What a shame, that Jews who fought against racism, are now being the target of it by their fellow comrades.
19. learning from their masters
tiki ,   belgium   (08.23.12)
The South African leadership is slowly but surely adopting the old (white) regime policies of policing & discrimination.
20. politically failed state gasping for breath ?
eddie ,   sa   (08.23.12)
Did you know that the deputy foreign minister Ebrahiem Abrahims made a statement last week discouraging people from visiting israel?. and that last month he prevented a government agricultural delegation from attending a planned visit to a conference in Israel SA is proud of the fact that it has has promulgated more laws and byelaws than any other country in the world and that it has the best constitution in the world However the population is unable to benefit them because of the pitifull state of the police (corrupt, illiterate and trigger happy,) The courts are overloaded with political confusion, crime ,and mega-fraud by politicians which seldom result in satisfactory conclusions. South Africa is a politically failed state but they they know how to promulgate laws faster than nations.

Gold....Diamonds......but if You boycott them You again hurting Your own people.....
22. #21 - At some point, a line will have to be drawn between
Patriotic Israeli ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.23.12)
SELF-RESPECT and GREED! There are plenty of sources of those material commodities that you mentioned, but it seems to me that SELF-RESPECT is the scarce commodity!!! If it were up to me, I would shut down all trade with S. Africa! WE DON'T NEED THEM! Let them stew in THEIR anti-Jewish pot!
23. Ah yes, the bastion of true liberty S. Africa.
Big bad Jew ,   United States   (08.23.12)
the nation of one of the biggest anti semitic 'Preachers' Desmond Tutu. No wonder S. Africa is a mess, look at this example of more apartheid from one of the regional "specialist." It is the dark continent. A black hole of anti semitism and of abusing their own people. ( some of which, like Tutu should be stripped of any 'religious' collar and office.) Wait a few years, S. Africa wont be able to blow her nose without some anti semite as Tutu who's filled with hot air and satan.
24. Step right up folks... The "New" So. Africa
Big bad Jew ,   United States   (08.23.12)
and see national anti semitism in the 21st century..... My, my, how quickly the inmates learn the ways of the asylum. Is this a distraction to how the S. African police murder their own miners? Dear G-d who's in charge? Sounds like Hitler rides again.....
25. They say 69 killed in Sharpville. How many killed at mine...
Alan ,   SA   (08.23.12)
.... In the late forties over the past week or so... The world still remembers that.
26. Hey Noodles... You must come to Graafs Pool to see my all
Alan ,   SA   (08.23.12)
over tan
27. BTW the SA Ambassador(when u find him) is a Muslim
(08.23.12)
28. 23. May you have as much money as Tutu from his preaching
(08.23.12)
29. Wonder if Ayalon
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (08.23.12)
will put the South African Ambassador in the naughty chair, and publically humiliate him in front of the media. That worked so well against Turkey
30. SA acted within its rights...and in accordance to int. law
Muayyad ,   Palestine   (08.23.12)
Nobody recognizes the West Bank as Israel...not even Israel's own High Court...Moreover 140+ nations explicitely recognize the entirety of the West Bank as Palestine ( a state soon to be admitted as non-member to the UN). Even Israeli universities (inside the green line) have ganged up against Ariel's plans for a university...Come on people get with the program (and get your settlers the hell out of the WB- which constitutes 22% of historical Palestine). Greed will backfire, and very soon.
