1. Lebanon lacks the funds?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.24.12)
How about insisting that Hezbollah -- part of the Lebanese government --spend less on weapons acquisitions and more on civilian needs? But that would hardly suit Hezbollah's purposes, would it? A huge pile of dead civilians is the best sex a terrorist will ever have. Lebanon sowed the seeds of its destruction long ago, when it failed to rein in Hezbollah. It is not Israel's fault when the time comes for Lebanon to reap what it has sown so assiduously for a very long time.
2. I have easier and more durable solution for Lebanon.....
Leo Wolf ,   colorado   (08.24.12)
I have easier and more durable solution for Lebanon....GET RID OF HIZBULLAH! there will be no need for shelters , waste of life and money

4. To both of you...
John A. ,   Miami, FL   (08.25.12)
Not a big fan of Hezbollah but the truth be told, they were the only force that managed to defeat Israel. And for that Israel will to go to the end of the world to get a chance to fight them again. Israel is an occupying force. This is the truth. They cannot survive doing anything else. Violence is in their blood. Change your ways and no one will have any claim on you. Continue on your current path and it will for sure lead to your destruction.
5. The hizbullah Terrorist Sympthizer

AMERICAN HINDU ,   USA   (08.25.12)
Pray there will be Peace, and neither the Lebanese nor the Israelis will need the shelters.
7. where in the world is Nasrallah?
Tom Porter ,   Wash D.C.   (08.25.12)
I'm willing to bet this "man" is not even in Southern Lebanon, which gives him more bravado to launch a stupid attack on Israel that will only receive immense retalliation for the poor people living in that area. I hope they get out of there soon.
8. nasrollah could give a hoot about you
iraj   (08.25.12)
nasrollah says pray to allah and sacrifice so hassan hides in a cave while firing 70000 rockets at the bloody zionists. YOu love death and 70 virgins so should you and your children die for nasrollah and kameini. They love death!
9. Root of problem is Israeli retreat from So. Lebanon.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.25.12)
Like virtually every major Israeli problem; the root source is an Israeli retreat. In this case: Israel's retreat from our former South Lebanon Security Zone. We should retake it forever.

Yediot has NEVER shown such sympathy for potential Jewish targets!
14. TO 1
sam bob ,   denver -colorado   (08.25.12)
I think that you have a little some knowledge about Hezbollah because it is completely separate financially from Lebanon and receives financial support, armament and military training from Iran as Israel's spoiled son to America also Hezbollah spoiled son to Iran
15. Report sounds like Islamists speaking.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (08.25.12)
16. Leo #2 in addition
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.24.12)

19. If they'd only try to be a peaceful neighbour, ...
Yael Schlichting ,   currently Munich   (08.24.12)
... they would have much fewer worries.
20. SIMPLE SOLUTION
DA URBAN POET ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (08.25.12)
Lebanon simply needs to live Israel alone to live in peace ,and I assure the lebanese people they will have no reason to worry. Just ask the jordanians.
21. Lebanon
galilean ,   Israel   (08.25.12)
It amazes me how people think that Israelis are the aggressors, instigators of the conflict here in our area. Give us just one day of that, then see what Israel could do if she wanted to. All measures are in self defense!! Lebanon, start taking RESPONSIBILITY for your actions. What do you expect by accepting and then legitimizing a terrorist organization??
22. If Hez starts up,ILmust completely destroy everything there
Alan ,   SA   (08.25.12)
Nothing must be left intact . A Mars rover must not be able to discern the difference between Martian Landscape and South Lebanon
23. Get rid of Hizbullah or get on a MAD DASH
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (08.24.12)
out of GROUND ZERO...
24. 'Lebanese home front virtually defenseless'
Adam ,   London   (08.24.12)
I suggest you try to the European Union for a grant I'm sure they'll give you a few euros.
25. Of course Southern Lebanon is
Stephen in New York   (08.25.12)
at risk since 159 towns and villages south of the LItani serve as Hezbollah rocket and missile launching bases. These towns will be pulverized and many non-combatants will be hurt.
26. Here is a novel idea that will safegaurd all Lebanese!
Ben ,   Chutslaaretz   (08.25.12)
Dear Lebanese Citizens, here is a great way to protect all your citizens. Recognize Israel as your rightful neighbor. Sign peace treaty and together we can build a great future for all of us. But first, you will need to stop those nuts you host from kidnapping Israeli Soldiers, firing rockets at Israel and supporting terrorists. A good start would be to free the thousands upon thousands of Ex-palestinian refugees from those prisons you call refugee camps. Give them citizenship, allow them to work and live like regular humans. It never ceases to amaze me how you claim to love them so much... enough to "fight" Israel, but not enough to give them life. Join the modern world! You know you can, there is no need to live like your other 7th. century obsessed neighbors. Do that and no need to spend outrageous sums on defense, shelters or a giant military. Alas my words will be ignored... it is so very much easier to blame Israe for all that is wrong than invest in fixing things locally. Maybe just maybe some day, the Arab world will love their kids more than they hate Israel.
27. # To Lebanese
Kobi Martin ,   TEL Aviv   (08.25.12)
What ersats Sarah B said is not an advice... is what people with mental sanity would do. Which obviously is not the case of your Lebanese people. So... go back to your cave and just wait for the next bombing. And keep praying to Allah, idiot.
28. Its so cowardly to say you won a war
In Israel   (08.25.12)
That you clearly lost. We simply did not give it a full punch. So they say they WON? I remember Sadam Husein also said he won the 1991 war. They always say they won when thr truth is we simply did not FINISH the job, ususally because of international constraints and blackmail.
29. #12 Most moral resistance force??
PaulZion ,   Israel   (08.25.12)
It says something about your morals, or lack of them, if that's what you think. What is moral in committing a war crime and bombing civilian? What is moral in killing 2 soldiers from across the border and then negotiating for an exchange, leading the other side to believe that they are alive? What is moral about not allowing the Red Cross, a humanitarian organization to inspect the prisoners you held ( well, now we know they were dead, I can understand why they didn't allow them!)? Resistance? What are they resisting? Istrael isn't even in Lebanon and hasn't been since 2000. What part of the resistance precipitated the assassination of the Lebanese PM by Hizbollah? It is not resistance, it is thirst for power and the subjugation of the Lebanese people, who only want to live their lives in peace instead of being intimidated and used as human shields ( another war crime), by this self-serving, bloodthirsty megalomanic organization. Hizbollah in Lebanon is like Al Capone in Chicago.
30. #18, 19, 20, 21, 25 and 26 EXCELLENT!
