1. Egged bus ads
NYC Girl   (08.30.12)
The fact that a modern, civilized country like Israel should even have to deal with such b.s. is utterly appalling. If these fanatics can't live in the modern world, let them move to one of those countries where they're still living in the 7th century.
2. the next "logical" step?
shloime ,   toronto, canada   (08.30.12)
is the next logical step to ban *all* voices, because the hareidim don't want to hear women's voices? or to clear everybody off the sidewalks? this is a very poor reaction to a human rights problem.
3. What is the next step?
Jew1 ,   Ashdod   (08.30.12)
Are you going to close all the radio stations and t.v. channel 99 of kabbala and tora? Because even there the women is excluded...Are you going to ban all the male singers as women singers are already banned? Are you going to stop using water on Saturday as it makes generator use which uses electricity? Are you going to open separate shops of women and men? Are you going to create everywhere separate footh-paths? Are you going to create mess of our idf with your foolish demands? Where will it stop? Why our leaders that we choose are not doing anything against this madness...
4. Good idea but now..
Moshico ,   Jerusalem   (08.30.12)
Can you remove some of the drivers as well, the ones that don't say hello, good morning or smile instead you get attacked by them like they are doing you a favour and drive through red lights and keep on breaking and blowing there horns.

6. Advertising Standards
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (08.30.12)
Every local community has its own requirements. Here in Golders Green, London we have requested from time to time that adverts using women's bodies be removed and they have been -- because the firms advertising don't want to lose many thousands of potential Jewish buyers. Our local newsagents, unlike most, do not stock soft porn, to avoid ofgfending Jewish customers. Jerusalem is not Israel and may attract different types of advertising. There should be a code of practice and an Advertising Standards Authority to deal with complaints. Here in London most complaints about using women in advertising come from women themselves who find it offensive.

10. Advertisements Abuse the public rider
Don'tUseUs!!! ,   Jerusalem Israel   (08.31.12)
To force the already suffering public who travel in overcrowded noisy buses to also be used literaly as a "moving ad" for all kinds of products plastered all over the outside of a bus ( including covering the windows with them ) is degrading to say the least. It is if you are forced to be saying you are for or against a poltical movement of a product of some kind. This is Big Brother society of greed and disrespect for the human spirit at its worst there needs to be a movement to prohibit this abuse of the already suffering riding public. The Media moguls know no rules or moral borders its time to educate them.
11. re: the next "logical" step
Sharon ,   NEW YORK   (08.31.12)
Shloime, you're absolutely right, but Egged is in a bad situation. Without the government putting its foot down and making clear that haredim are neither alone in Israel, nor the moral arbiters of all Jews, a company like Egged is forced into a compromise that helps their business in the short run, but in the long run, gives yields economic power to the haredim.
12. OH HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!!
ARLENE ,   ISRAEL   (08.31.12)
DARN IT ...NO MEN POSTERS ON BUSES...DOOOOOOH!

Dr Watson ,   London   (09.02.12)
SHerlock, which planet are you on? I also live in the Goldene Medina, but do not recognise it from your blinkered description. Regretably, you have maligned the Kedushah of Eretz Yisrael with tour postulating the "purity" of Golders Green. You must be going to shops that I have never seen in 69 years. It's not Advertising standards that are needed, only a positive warm outlook towards your fellow Jew. Ahavat Yisrael is paramount, especially as we approach the Yamim Noraim.
