31. Refugees : Made in Babylon
Babylonian ,   Jerusalem   (08.29.12)
And countless numbers who did not make it to Israel direct but displaced nevertheless to , in my case, London, and all over the world, as we escaped whichever way we could that was open to us from certain terror or death My father managed his escape in 1970 on the back of a motorcycle across the Iraq Iran border, having to leave everything behind, and throwing the $1500 he had on him just before the border in case he got caught with it, with us preceding him in our exit in ones and twos as was possible. We are the forgotten human jetsam that the world had forgotten, because the Nazis and Arabs have the louder voices. Tha-Rab-ni Wa-ba-ka....Wasaba'q-ni Wash-ta-ka is the famous way to go by Arabs, = He hit me and then cried He sped ahead of me and complainrd. That is a crumb of the silent suffering we had to bear whilst the Pals were forced out by their arab bretherin as leaders sought a cover for despotism to subdue their masses irrespective Finally, in my experience, Arabs hate palestinians
32. Compensation for jews only How about the Palestinian the je
(08.29.12)
jews forced out in 1948 & the more than 700 Palestinian villages destroyed by the zionist invaders/occupiers/criminals.
33. A DNA Arab Jew
Braddford ,   Knoles   (08.29.12)
Take away the religion and these people are one and the same. These people left on their own accord, were opportunist and just infected with a bug, avirus. Arab Jews from Arab people, DNA the same minus religion. That bug was Zionism.
34. Compensation or taking back?
Can   (08.29.12)
The lost tribes of Israel are the lost lands of Israel, taking the lands east of the river Jordan from the king of Jordan, and all Jordanian people, including Israeli Palestinians, and Jordanian Palestinians is the best compensation.
35. I am an Arab Jew, I don't take offense
Yossef   (08.29.12)
what the hell are you thinking you are? Descendants of the Greeks? We are (for the best) descendants of tribes who used to live in the mediterranean coast of the Arabic Peninsula, that is, Syria, Lebanon, Israel. Most of us has mixed blood with other nations, Berbers, Slaves, Arabs, Franks, Indians etc. We are not defending a race, there is no such a thing that a jewish race. We are defending the right for a people to live according to his laws and traditions. We are just a people, a bunch of different people, some of them, yes from Arab descent, who converted to Judaism centuries ago.
36. No such thing as ARAB JEWS.... they are Jews from Arab lands
OMG ,   Israel   (08.29.12)
Is YNET so ignorant they don't know this?????
37. # 6
Miriam ,   Miami, USA   (08.29.12)
You are very correct.
38. arab jews????
aline ,   israel   (08.29.12)
Nothing wrong in being an Arab. Nothing wrong in being a Jew.....arab jew is a contradiction in term....I am a Jew born in an Arab (?) country.... Why( ) ? Because the Jews settled in Tunisia long before the Arab invaders arrived!
39. Twisting Aliyah from a Jewish crime, to an Arab crime
Steven Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (08.29.12)
...by seeking legitimate compensation for Jews expelled from Arab lands. Thereby weakening legitimate future Israeli war reparations to the Palestinians, who lost 80,000 square miles on the Mediterranean coast, worth trillions.
40. Jewish refugge
Zvi ,   Bat Yam   (08.29.12)
to #28 Either you are not serious or you do not have a common sense.
41. Jews from Arab Countries.
Alice ,   Isreael/Canada   (08.29.12)
Were Avraham, Itzhak, Jaccob, Sarah, Rivka, Rachel, Leah, Moshe etc. Jews or Arabs Jews, since they were all born in The Middle East.
42. Benassi , 39 . 80,000 square miles ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.29.12)
Israel + Judea Samaria + Gaza have a total surface of around 12,000 square miles . Another big LIE from you . At least you admit it : Jews expelled from arab countries .
43. We integrated all those refugees , while
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.29.12)
the muslim states left them mostly in camps . No rights for them . An example ? In kuwait they could only own 49 % of their business [ a non Jewish businessman told it , he had such a customer there ] They were also expelled from there after the first gulf war .
44. Jewish refugees vs Palestinian refugees
Gregg ,   Haifa IL   (08.29.12)
The very huge difference is that Jews got their country and the late ones didn't since Some Jews are shamelessly stilling land that doesn't belong to them.
45. As usual Israel is lying
Gregg ,   Haifa IL   (08.29.12)
There was no such thing as Jewish refugees from Algiers since they left in 1962 to France when France gave back Algeria to its rightful owners. Jews had the choice and chose to come in mass to France.
46. #42, You are correct, Israel is 8,019 or 8,522 sq mi
Steven Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (08.29.12)
...according to Wikipedia. My mistake, one too many zeros. Why two numbers though, 8,019 or 8,522, doesn't Israel have fixed borders?
47. Gregg , other ex algerians prefered Israel !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.30.12)
Rightfull owners ? It was France that build Algeria , the same as we did here . It were not the berbers , nor the so called palestinians , who build Algeria or Israel .
48. #28 - do you think they'd be safe there?
William ,   Israel   (08.30.12)
Funny, Liberal shills have no problem demanding Jews who were ethnically cleansed from racist Arab lands return to certain death, but clamor for Julian Assange to be allowed to go to Ecuador because of "possible" arrest by the US. But your retarded bias aside, the current situation is - most Jews from Arabs lands were forced out and deserve compensation, but today they are 100% Israeli - while "Palestinians" who mostly ran without ever seeing a soldier, are really the nationality of the country they were born in. Nothing to do except move forward.
49. #30 - ok, so that leaves 859,999 Jewish refugees
William ,   Israel   (08.30.12)
I don't think Ayalon's background really hurts the message nor the noble cause for justice.
50. #39 and how much of that did they privately own?
William ,   Israel   (08.30.12)
Hmmm, about 2.7% by pre-1948 records. I think we'll be able to cover the few who ran without ever seeing a soldier, but DID actually own their land.
51. #33 - evidence shows otherwise
William ,   Israel   (08.30.12)
Both the DNA - which shows Jews from the specific region and just cousins (not brothers) of Arabs which originated on the Peninsula... and the issue of ethnic cleansing which many, many, many Jews attested to. In Egypt, many were rounded up in the night, jailed, tortured for months without info given their family, then returned back with 24 hours to pack their stuff and leave the country. The point that you ignore, which is ingrained in historical writings, is that Arabs were PROUD of this action and made it public. These Jews were not Zionists but the anti-semitism by Arabs was no less real.
52. #45 - following anti-Jew pogroms, you mean
William ,   Israel   (08.30.12)
The Arabs there fighting for independence made it clear they had no room for Jews in their populace and leading up to 1962, many were targets for racist attacks. So, their leaving wasn't a peaceful decision, it was one of survival - no less heavy than ethnic cleansing.
53. #46 - "Israel doesn't have fixed borders" - Really?
William ,   Israel   (08.30.12)
That's new from you. Because not long ago you wrote that the 1967 Line was an "internationally recognized border" when trying to bolster Abbas' claim on land.
54. #47 - and when it became successful, they wanted it
William ,   Israel   (08.30.12)
55. #44 - It's not like they didn't have their chances
William ,   Israel   (08.30.12)
In 1947, the land was partition, and Arabs rejected it. In 1967, Israel captured land used by Arabs to launch war crimes on Israeli civilians, and offered it back in return for peace, live on the BBC following the war, and Arabs rejected it. In 1994, Israel signed the Oslo Accords providing 97% of the land to "Palestinians" for a State, including steps towards sovereignty, shared responsibility for the economy, and massive infrastructure investment....and again, Arabs rejected it - Hamas launched terror attacks inside Israel from 1993 onward, Arafat admitted to Muslims in South Africa that the Accords were a shame and he will never accept Israel, and as a group they launched a failed terror war. I believe one of their victims was an Arab-run restaurant in your city, Haifa, as well as some of their victims being Arab. That's the difference. Jews said yes to compromise and got a State, Arabs said no to any Jews in the region - chose terror - and didn't get a State. They have only themselves to blame for poor decision. Now, they are not a population of "Palestine-born" Arabs but rather Syrian-, Lebanese-, Iraqi-, Saudi- Egyptian-, Jordanian-born Arabs.
