1. Small minds rule the once great Egypt
Avi   (08.29.12)
Hate does that, though.
2. What the hell
Mira ,   Vienna   (08.29.12)
has Mursi's "patriotism" got to do with Israel? Does he claim the region?
3. "Zionist entity?"
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.29.12)
Whatever happened to "State of Israel?" Israel, take heed. The true face of the Moslem Brotherhood emerges. They engineered the murder of sixteen of their own policemen in order to manufacture an excuse to remilitarize the Sinai. In a few short months, Morsi has done everything to repudiate the 1979 treaty short of coming out and officially announcing it null and void. Israel still has the option of acting.
4. So Morsi is a puppet
Big bad Jew ,   United States   (08.29.12)
the hand of the real puppet master speaks for him. ( isn't that painful, with someone else's hand up your ass?)
5. Egypt is kept in Stoneage as usual..
David ,   Germania   (08.29.12)
Morsi should visit Israel to see how an successfull country works! I have been to cairo and the whole city like the whole country is totaly chaotic. They dont have even a traffic system (or traffic lights) in a 15 million city!! All modern they have is from the west..Their military would also be outdated if they wouldnt be supplied heavily by the USA! How hypocritical by the way to always blame israel but to be totaly addicted to the United States, Israels best ally! Heshmat is a joke "Iran does not plunder land and is not an occupying force." Iran hang people in the street, suppress their own people and is a threat (shame) to worldwide security!
6. The Egyptian behaviour towars Israel was not ...
(08.29.12)
In the spirit of the Peace Treaty signed between Beguin and Sadat. The idea was normal relations. Isreal should also rethink about a treaty in which we are called the Zionist Identity instead of Israel. Liberman was streaching a hyand and this buffon return a slap. The first thing of this treaty is mutual respect and Egypt has not done so.
7. Well, Lieberman forced Morsi to show his cards :-)
Yossef   (08.29.12)
8. Time
Worry01 ,   U.S.   (08.29.12)
Morsi is walking down the road quickly. He senses that the United States will take no real action against his government, so he is emboldened. Egypt might even assist Iran if it decides to attack Israel. Israel needs to make some decisions now, whether the United States is in the mood or not.
9. Great lies and liars.
Norman Vants ,   London UK   (08.29.12)
"They engineered the murder of sixteen of their own policemen in order to manufacture an excuse to remilitarize the Sinai. " Pathetic. Israeli Mossad operation backfires. Israel is backfiring all over the place. Get out while you can. The end is near.

12. We have no seen the rest of Egypt Circus
AlbertoGA ,   St. George, Utah   (08.29.12)
What Morsi in interested to do to Israel is not exactly what the Egypian Army has in mind. WAR and destruction of Israel. Remember what Nasser did...Super Catastrophy. Morsi is just a Puppet of Muslim Ideas that Israel will just Go...nice and easy. Well !
13. Norman Ant #9
Barry ,   Tokyo   (08.29.12)
LOL! You're a funny man Normy. The only thing most people worldwide have been witnessing has been the royal arse from England. No Norman, the end is near for the not-so-great britain. Allah Akbar to you in Londonistan!
14. The arab mindset cannot accept peace
Avi   (08.29.12)
We were their enemies. We greatly humiliated in all the wars they started. Morsi can't visit us because of that humiliation - that "patriotism", as the brotherhood member said. There's no point seeking logic by comparing western states' actions to this. They follow a different, more barbaric logic.
15. morsi wake up to reality
ahmed   (08.29.12)
morsi, you have a ph.d. in engineering from a good school. You are not a piece of wood that parrots platititudes from the heavens or street. YOu have a brain. Egypt knows that the israelites formed their own nation, there was never any palestine arab nation. So sit with the israelis, and work out something. If you choose a bad route, israel will defend itself, make no mistake about that as nasser found out.
16. Morsi is not a hypocrite, he says it all.
Nora tel Aviv   (08.29.12)
He considers Israel his enemy. I his latest speech Morsi doesn`t even used the name "Israel" calling it a "Neighbor". No more dreams of Arab Spring. Islamic Brothers can`t accept the idea of a "Zionist entity" in the Middle East. hat is left is either a cold war or a hot one, but no Israelo-Egyptian peace.
17. #6 - Lieberman set him up to fail ..
michael redbourn ,   arad israel   (08.29.12)
18. #16 Actually Nora...He is a hypocrite...Why?
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (08.29.12)
Because if his patriotism was the reason for not accepting Lieberman's invitation to Israel.....where was it regarding his visit to Iran, riding down a street in Teheran named after Sadat's killer...??? Catch my drift?
19. I usually disagree completely with Lieberman
guest ,   Toronto, Canada   (08.29.12)
This time, he didn’t do it as provocation, it seems that he genially invited Morsi, to try and give peace a chance. It seems that either the roots of hate are way deep or that Morsi afraid for his life to become diplomatic. How on earth can be peace without talking????
20. To: Guest at No. 19
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.29.12)
Contemplate the likelihood that Morsi has no intention of adhering to the peace treaty and no intention of peaceful co-existence with Israel. He's a member of the Moslem Brotherhood, after all, and they are a rejectionist movement. In fact, they are one of the movements that not only call for the destruction of the State of Israel, but the extermination of the Jews as well. (The difference being that the so-called "moderates" call for the destruction of the State of Israel but only the expulsion of the Jews.) None of the Arab states and assorted terrorist groups are interested in peace. Arabs don't like peace. In their frozen in time and primitive societies, peace must be very boring.
21. #9 - I guess the MB are Zionists now
William ,   Israel   (08.29.12)
Because they sure believe the Sinai has a restive Bedouin problem is a source of criminality and weapons smuggling. As well as several Bedouin tribesmen around Al-Arish. Amazing the wide control of the Mossad to create virulent Israel haters into Zionists. Even if untrue, your deranged post helps solidify the belief that the Mossad is all-knowing, all-powerful, and puts a great fear into violent Arabs everywhere. Better than we could do building that reputation. Thanks.
22. #20 - MB is the source of all ills in the region
William ,   Israel   (08.29.12)
It was the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt that created the failed Pan-Arab nationalism movement, and gave the world Al-Husseini and Arafat. Their mission was a pure Arab-Islamic State, with not only NO Jewish State but also no Jews. MB gave the world Bin Laden's 2nd in command - a physician by training - who spent more time slicing civilians apart than healing them.
23. Looks like Morsi said take a hike..
Milk D ,   USA/East Coast   (08.29.12)
and it's absolutely nothing that Israel can do. If Mubarak was in power Israel would be on the phone with the USA..not gonna be the case with the new Egypt..no means no and also no backroom deals either..it looks like Egypt is going to play the "game" that we wish. And ask yourself where is the pressure on the Egyptian government that the US had no problems exerting on Mubarak. We all know what happened, Egypt told the US Mubarak is gone and that's it. I KNOW it sucks that the days of putting pressure on Egypt are over.
24. CUTE MORSI is playing both side
Iranian Hunter   (08.29.12)
This guy is on hook by saudi, american money but is trying to look as a troo mooslem that helps other troo shia like Iran. So how about your fellow MB scums in Syria Morsi ? Are they not troo mooslem? NOT A SINGLE CENT SHOULD BE GIVEN TO EGYPT. Unless Cute Morsi visits Israel while wearing a burkha. Then we should give him a single cent.
25. "Iran does not plunder land, not occupying force"
William ,   Israel   (08.29.12)
Tell that to the UAE and Azerbaijan, both of whom have claims on land Iran has illegally occupied. Iran also claims Bahrain in an Iranian province and is stoking Shia citizens there to protest in order to push for a future take over. Iran also supports Shiite missionary work in Sunni countries and was warned many times by Yemen, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. Iran also support terror around the world, many of their leaders are on INTERPOL Red Alert lists, and their human rights abuses is quite long. But then again - I can see how the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt can identify with the Mullahs in Iran, so it makes sense.
26. #23 yeah and we Americans should say goodbye
Daniel   (08.29.12)
to all that cash we give them, then smash every tank, troop carrier, airplane and helicopter and every bit of radar we ever sold or gave them for a peace with our friend Israel. let them keep the guns but take back all the ammo and training we gave their troops. Boy how would we ever do that? Oh yeah by bombing all that other stuff.
27. Dancing Morsi
leonmen ,   meitar; israel   (08.29.12)
My naive blogger - Egypt is stone broke and will be dancing to whoever has to foot the bill; and something tells me it will be the good old USA. So don't get your hopes up so quickly!
28. Lieberman
DavidR ,   USA   (08.29.12)
Israel should be proud of her Foreign Minister! His invitation to Morsi was the single greatest act of diplomacy Lieberman has ever done! It was brilliant. He knew there was no chance in hell that Morsi would come. He just caused Morsi to show his MB face while he tries desperately to show himself a statesman. Morsi is nothing but a terrorist in a suit. Morsi has no intention of upholding the peace treaty with Israel. That is 180 degrees from the MB mission.
29. Protests in egypt again?
jeff ,   UK   (08.29.12)
how long before this iran lover gets ousted?
30. Arab visit
Sam M ,   UK   (08.29.12)
The main challenge to morsi is how he can afford to end the 'peace treaty' with Israel which is only held in place by American aid which he is reluctant to give up. Like all arab leaders he still cherishes the dream of destroying the 'zionist entity' with an 'arab strongman' ideally entering al qeds at the head an army. Israel should keep her guard up and prepare for the next war which thanks to the so-called' arab spring' is only a matter of time. Millions of dirt poor egyptians will need something to distract their attention when the economy collapses and a loaf of bread is beyond their reach and that won’t be long now!
