1. Theft by whom?
Ellen ,   Israel/USA   (08.30.12)
The article reports how the items were found in a shop in the Old City of Jerusalem. They were purchased in Dubai. Inasmuch as Jewish Israelis do not go to Dubai, inasmuch as the market in the Old City of Jerusalem is Arab, then why not spell out how these items got to Israel. They were brought here by an Arab resident of East Jerusalem. An Arab who most likely doesn't consider himself to be Israeli, so the fact that Israel has gone, found them and is returning them is a feather in Israel's cap. She is righting the wrong of something one Arab did to his brother!
2. When does Egypt intend to return stolen Jewish property?

oh so suddenly they care about illegally smuggled items...daily arms & weapons smuggling has NO attention of the Egypt authority but valuable reliquities do and off course get the highest attention from the government ?
4. How did this get through customs?

7. Very nice to see artefacts repatriated.

Looting and dealing in antiquities is a bane on human society. What the heck is the "Modern Kingdom" though? Do they mean the New Kingdom and the Third Intermediate Periods respectively?

9. #6 - No they were not.
Henry from New York ,   Currently under the Tuscan Sun   (08.31.12)
I keep wondering where anyone gets this silly idea from when - even if you do follow the biblical narrative - those were still built long before the time that our ancestors were supposedly in capitivity in Egypt.
10. We did not build the Pyramids
Tzimmes ,   London UK   (08.31.12)
The Pyramids were built by Egyptians. The Hebrews built the store cities of Pithom and Ramses Check your Hagada !
