1. not wearing a scullcap?
tiki ,   belgium   (08.31.12)
Muslim women walk around with all their schmattes up & around their face & bodies, Muslim men walk around in their white long dresses only JEWS can't wear a tiny scullcap again in Germany?????? It's about time for 'The march of the scullcaps with Jews & non Jews (if they have learned something from their muddy past)! If not, it's time for the Jews to pack their backs. No circumcision, no scullcaps & no schitah speak for itself.
2. Muslims outnumber Jews in Germany some 20 to 1
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (08.31.12)
Muslims were a scarce presence in most of Europe 50 years ago. Today they're found all over Western Europe, especially in their big cities. Jewish numbers, in contrast, haven't grown; at best they've simply shifted from the Former Soviet Union westward. Within Europe Jews are seriously outnumbered by Muslims - by some 10 to 1 in the UK and France, 20 to 1 in Germany and Europe overall, 50 to 1 in Scandinavia. Almost every Jewish institution in Europe requires some measure of protection. Islamic institutions don't. Muslim migration to Europe continues, and their birth rates are well above their respective national averages. So expect more such troubles as the numbers grow ever more skewed.
3. Reform College
joel ,   beer sheva   (08.31.12)
The Abraham Geyer College is a reform college. This is the best what could happen to the reform rabbis. Dont wear kippa: The best argument to assimilate more!
4. No proof Muslims were involved. Skin-heads are a possiblity

5. Muslims outnumber Jews
tiki ,   belgium   (08.31.12)
Jews were always outnumbered! It's not about numbers, it's about behaving like a civilized person, which means living together in harmony, despite the differences. Differences can be beautifull if all people would be a bit more tolerant towards each other, if not, hell will break lose again and then what? Will we be more happy? It's about time that some leaders start to make that point, before it's to late.
6. Sure out with the kippah and in with the yellow star.
Yosef ,   Boca Raton   (08.31.12)
Isn't that what happened last time in Germany if my memory does not fail me and the ashes of my great uncle don't let me forget.
7. again... whats wrong with germany?
8. Did Ordinary Germans come to his help?
TheNewGermanyTest ,   Jerusalem Israel   (09.01.12)
It would be interesting to know if any ordinary Germans were in the vicinity and if any of them came to help the rabbi . Or is indifference still the order of the day there . "German" Jews need to be asking this question

While still living in your country i had a religious visitor from Israel . He prefered not to wear his skullcap in the street . VOLUNTARY and this while we met plenty of religious and charedi people in the street . Muslim women and men in their outfits have no enemies , if you exept some ultra rightists who rarely will attack them .
10. Why are Jews in that accursed land in the first place?
Aurora Aronsson   (09.01.12)
I guess the Judenrat mentality is still strong.
11. Antisemitism result of WESTERN MEDIA BIAS against Israel.

12. Result of Western Media Bias against israel
Helen ,   Lakeland   (09.02.12)
I hate to reminde everyone that even in Western Media, Christians are also attacted for speaking the name of Yeshua (Jesus), a jew. This hatred is world wide! In America, there is a slow conditioning in some churches to be kind and keep your words to yourself about your faith, You see, the evil one doesn't want anyone to promote the Heavenly Father or His Savior!'s even in America! It's all over the place! Antisemitism. The Christians and the Jews are the focus. Look at the murals in Colorado Airport! It's out in the open! Wake up and stop thinking it's just Germany!!!!!
13. Number 4. skinheads
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (09.02.12)
The article says clearly that the attackers 'probably had an Arab background.'
14. Jerry , 11 . There was antisemitism BEFORE
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.02.12)
the creation of Israel . It are anti Israel feelings that are the result of media bias , and this is "translated" by many in antisemitism .
15.  "attacked in front of his young daughter"

I'd say it began in earnest during the Hellenistic period.

I read nothing about cheering crowds. This was from sources that tend to have a negative view of Israel. Even then, why are you happy about a man being beaten in front of his daughter? Do you approve of the daughter being threatened with death? What did the rabbi have to do with this Zion Square incident?
18. Jews in Germany--OXYMORON, Jewish blood soaked land

Start wearing muslim clothes or leave.
19. at 10. Perhaps you should stop making guesses
Gabriel ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (09.02.12)
German Jews are quite emancipated, fully able to decide for themselves and capable of making do without your patronizing nonsense. Judenrat mentality, indeed! I don't know if you have noticed, but there is a great number of Israelis living in Berlin. Perhaps it is because Germany is nowadays quite a nice place to visit (and I know that this isn't what you want, or perhaps even need, to believe.)
20. Ending WESTERN ANTI-ISRAEL BIAS would decrease antisemitism.

The wink says you do enjoy the act of violence. As for reaping what you sow, what, pray-tell, did the rabbi do?
23. have decency to correct your WRONG presentation
debbie morgen stern ,   nyc usa   (09.03.12)
You did not have the decency, nor the guts, to prnt what I wrote in terms of your very likely deliberate misuse of the word "shun", used very likely to manipulate your readers by creating an illegitimate, distortion of the truth by using a lying headline just for effect- NO JEW is "shun"ing their skullcap/kipa!!! They are being ADVISED for their SAFETY to not wear their skullcaps/kipas in public however they are NOT SHUNNING their skullcaps/kipaz!!! Have the decency to print this so as to honor the truth and to CORRECT. What you wrongfully wrote! SHAME ON YOU!!!
