What a light sentence for keeping secret army files.
2. Absolute and total shame!!!!

Our legal system stinks!!! HaAretz has enough power to bend patriotic sentiments and security! Shame on all the Israeli legal system!!!
3. If he would have been a Hareidi or settler
bmos ,   chasmonaim, Israel   (09.03.12)
he would have received 10 years. What a joke
4. would have been better to say not guilty & let him off

Four months community service is a joke. The message this sends is free press is a license to do what you like and even if you do cross a red line the punishment is so meagre that its worth going breaking the laws because if I am lucky I will get off scot free with a sensational story but if it doesn't work out I will do abit of community service. At least if he got off the message would have been you got lucky this time but next time maybe you won't be. The courts gave Anat Kam a slap on the wrist and if she is a good girl in jail she will probably be out on parol next year. The punishment they have given Blu shows how pathetic the courts can be in this country. The only ones who are going to be really upset by this plea bargain are Haaretz who Blu works for and they have been supporting all the way. The fact Blau got any punishment says we backed the wrong horse.
5. Leftist courts supports a leftist criminal

No news in that.
6. Prosecutor's Office just "protecting one of their own"
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (09.03.12)
It's widely recognized that the Prosecutor's Office is dominated by the Left. Blau is one of their own. So they were disinclined from doing the serious work of conducting a criminal trial against him. Happily (for them) they managed to close the affair with a slap on the wrist. Here in the US at least, when one agrees to a plea deal in a serious case, he admits before the judge what he did and implicitly acknowledges the wrong. Yet Blau has the audacity to claim there should have been no indictment at all. As if he did no wrong!
7. he should be in jail
nej ,   tlv   (09.03.12)
he jeapardized the nation and its citizens for the sake of yellow journalism and making a name for himself! it is a scandal that he got away largely unpunished! it will only encourage others with their own self gain and political agenda to leak and steal State secrets, no less at a time of great international danger to Israel and its citizens.
8. It's good to be a Leftist

9. Get out of Jail Free Pass
Joe Sombrero ,   USA   (09.03.12)
My opinion Guess when you spy for the United States or Great Britain you get a Get out of Jail Free Pass. Scum like this should be locked away for life then trade him for Pollard. But I guess the Leftist US agents in Israel are protecting there own.
10. Journalists ought to write whatever is fit to be printed.
Michael ,   California, USA   (09.03.12)
Free journalism is the pride of a democratic country. Journalists should feel free to write anything that people have an interest to read. He will do the community service and I hope continue his excellent journalistic work. The keepers of secrets are responsible when there is a leak to press, the IDF in this case, not the journalist. Admittedly, Israeli courts and its judges are not country's points of pride, but liberalism is. Israeli democracy should remain its fundamental cornerstone. The practice of liberal policies in Israel makes it distinct from the oppressive regimes in all of the other M.E. countries, it gives every Israeli the feeling of freedom.

The courts have also always been dominated by the left but also I think in this case the judges were terrified when Blau and all his journalist friends started shouting free press. Nobody wants to be the judge that placed a restriction of press freedom and thats been Blau's ace card from the start. If he wasn't a professional journalist working for a major newspaper and was just an ammuter with no press card to wave even though the courts are dominated by the left their punishment would have been more like 4 years jail time rather than 4 months community service. The press intimidated the courts.
12. Zionist defense of Blau
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (09.03.12)
Until now, I assumed that Blau was Kam's handler, using an unattractive and talentless girl's dream of being a journalist to get secret information. But maybe Kam decided to steal the information by herself, and gave it to Blau without him asking. Blau accepted the information that Kam stole but as a journalist, he could not turn her in. He sent the only story he wrote based on this information to the censor, so he did make sure he was not damaging Israel security. As far as we know, he never published information that could have hurt Israel, or gave it to a foreign government. His only crime was keeping some of the information after agreeing to return all of it. Who knows, maybe he wanted an insurance policy. If the above is true, 4 months community service is reasonable . The real question is why Kam got so little for stealing information that could have killed thousands of soldiers.

and these kids get a slap on the wrist. Our courts need to be investigated.
