1. Any Doubt About Who Is Bad and Who Is Good?
emanon ,   USA   (09.03.12)
Ah yes, another message of peace from Israel's "peace partner" in the name of the "religion of peace". With actions like this, how can people support the terrorstinians and say the gazans are in the right?
2. Oh my goodness!

Where are all the apologists for the ersatz "Palestinians" complaining about Israeli checkpoints? Hmm? Come out, come out, wherever you are! Please do tell us how inhuman and cruel are those Israeli checkpoints! Tell us how we don't need them! Tell us what we are supposed to do with ersatz "Palestinians" attempting to sneak in pipe bombs intended to kill innocent Jewish civilians! Tell us! We're waiting.
3. Simple solution

I would surround those villages and give them 2 hours to give up that terrorist. If not – those villages would be destroyed. That would certainly teach them a lesson
4. What to do to prevent murderers from entering Israel.
Moshe of Rockville ,   Rockville,MD USA   (09.03.12)
1) Continue to do what is necessary for the defense of Israel consistent with the laws of nations. 2)Punish the potential(or actual) killers with the ultimate retribution, as an example to those who seek Israel's destruction.3)Enter the village where the potential killer fled and conduct a thorough investigation.4) When the person is caught, the occupants of the location where the potential killer fled should receive the same punishment as the killer, if it is possible to show the occupants were under no threat and were acting voluntarily. Such acts make it difficult for Israel to depend on mere promises of peace from its opponents. I think a hanging or two might help.
5. #3 "simple solution ??"

#3 "simple solution ??" Yes, it is probably true that the Arab population living near Modin Ilit is hostile to IsraeL, BUT...the vast majority of those Arabs are NOT terrorists . The key to dealing with the pals terrorism is INTELLIGENCE. Israel will find the culprit. That man will vomit information, Israel does not have to adgitate the entire passive pal population. Why destroy homes ? such action will will change hostility to the need for revenge and create hatred . Why create 100 more pal terrorists ? moshe

#2. You wrote it before I could. Where are all the protestors with their signs accusing these terrorists of human rights violations against the Israelis? So much Hipocracy. Thank G-d that none of our brave soldiers at the checkpoint were hurt. When I've been in Israel I went through two checkpoints and all I could think of was the weight of responsibility on our soldiers.
7. The IDF at the checkpoints is harassed by "peace groups" !

Sure that sounds like a very easy plan Then what would the world think of us? What human rights groups and UN say of us? What news channels will pounce on the story and what foreign activists will put themselves as human shields all for the camera This sort of action is only ok in every other country in the region
9. Accomplice sent by PA leaders to sabotage the policy of ...
Rational Palestinian ,   OPT   (09.03.12)
Allowing poor Palestinian laborers who seek earning their living into Israel, especially after the successful entrance of hundreds of thousands during Ramadan and the Moslem holiday without any single bad incident. Corrupted and confused PA feels the carpet is pulled under their feet. PA failed to govern and citizens are angry due to suffering the ugly socio-economic situation, leave alone the deteriorating political situation. Palestinian people wants to live and raise their children with dignity and peace. The above is heartily and honest expression of Palestinian life.
10. oh the outrageous human rights...
mark ,   usa   (09.03.12)
Violation. Palestians prevented from their human right to be murdering salvages. The shear audacity, the unmitigated gall of Israelis to deny this basic fundamental right of islamic belief. This islamic belief-> "oh, allah when are the trees and stones going to call out...there is a jew hiding behind me koranic bullshit"

12. Where's the second headline....
David ,   Hartford USA   (09.04.12)
"Terrorist shot and killed moments later." How is it that the checkpoint soldiers didn't immediately capture or kill the terrorist? One soldier checks the person, another soldier keeps his weapon trained on the subject from a distance. Seems so simple.....

I fully agree that Israel has the absolute right to protect its citizens. And the use of checkpoints is a vital and necessary tool. As the article point out, this checkpoint stopped 4 pipe bombs from entering Israel. However, it would seem logical that all the checkpoints be placed at the entrances of the settlements and Israel proper. But there are checkpoints that are placed between Palestinian towns and villages. Israel also employs the use of ‘flying’ checkpoints. And it is these checkpoints that show Palestinian, that freedom of movement as not a right, but in fact a privilege that Israel may grant or deny as it seems fit.
