31. To no.3 is the 6th time in the same place
(09.04.12)
It is not inside the Mosque this is not Saudi Arabia. No muslims can have alcohol. This is just a provocation from extremists to create a conflict whre there is none. It is to deligitimize Jews even in Israel. This is to Islamize things without any reazon. Muslims are not being to pray in their Mosques let's not confuse the issues.
32. same people who trash the Jewish
Barney ,   USA   (09.04.12)
religious sites, Machpelah etc? use headstones for latrines? throw rocks on worshippers at the kotel? who cares what they think? must give respect to earn it
33. False Claim
Southern Belle ,   Chicago, IL   (09.04.12)
In an article over a year ago published on Ynetnews it plainly states that this building has not been used as a mosque since the establishment of the State of Israel. It is in the middle of an all Jewish city and the claims of the Arabs about its "sanctity" are out and out lies. It's another red herring to demonize Israel. Do your research people!
34. It is NOT an operative mosque!
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (09.04.12)
To the best of my knowledge, the building in Beer-Sheva has not even served as a mosque since 1948.

Henry from New York ,   Under the Tuscan Sun   (09.04.12)
I rather like it, actually. I only wish they did it without the use of electronics so that it could be more authentic.

Hey, wasn't it Jesus who turned water into wine? As opposed to the other way around? Maybe he wasn't quite the divinity you thought he was. He certainly wasn't a teetotaler.
38. Well, we are home OK?
Yossef   (09.04.12)
if this land does not belong to the mosque there is no reason to not hold the wine festival there. And better wine than beer ;-) BTW my muslim cousins, you are invited. Be cool.
39. SO a wine festival in the Negev Museum
Arlene ,   Israel   (09.04.12)
courtyard, which happens to be the vicinty of a disused mosque! What is their problem? Respect others religous site and they will do likewise to yours, BUT that isnt the problem here...this is Israel, the festival was held times before, same place, not a peep from anyone...so why now? Do we have bored bedouin in Beersheva! Has all this Iran news got to them? HOpe the festival is a success, wish I could get there!!!

43. Muhammad was "for" wine before he was "against" it
Guy ,   KC, USA   (09.04.12)
It's too bad the festival can't be held in Khaybar or Najran instead.
44. It seems the courtyard is not mosque property
William ,   Israel   (09.04.12)
but rather the common area between two museums - which are public sites. So, since the area is a public site, and since Israel is NOT an Islamic country with Sharia Law, this site can be used for the wine festival - and it should. What is more telling is the so-called religious sensitivities of Muslims which only 6 years later voice a problem with the festival. However, in a democratic and multi-cultural country like Israel, while Muslims have their rights protected, so too do the non-Muslim citizens. If Muslims are "insulted" by the festival or watching people drink alcohol, then they should just turn their backs and ignore them....as they would in any other democratic, multi-cultural country.
45. So does the existence of Jews...
Koose E Mack ,   NY NY   (09.04.12)
Everything "provokes' extremist Muslims...Jews, Israel, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Sihks, etc..... Sometimes I think some Muslims are just full of Shiite.
46. To number 45, E Mack, your are
Ameridane ,   Aarhus, Denmark   (09.04.12)
