It was the US *Congress* that has pushed hardest for sanctions, and Obama who's granted thousands of waivers which weaken those sanctions. Iran sees the US as a paper tiger which will eventually accept Iran as a nuclear power. Obama wanted "daylight" between the US and Israel; well, he's got it. "Four more years" of this is a scary thought.
