1. Uman, the best place to be for Rosh Hashana
AB ,   TheRock   (09.10.12)
Rabbi Nachman is the only tzaddik that promises that if you go to his grave for Rosh Hashana he will do all he can on your behalf (ie the rectification of your soul) and he says that what he can do on Rosh Hashana he himself cannot do all year - so it's now or never. Shana tova!
2. Israeli airlines, Israeli food, Israeli booze ,...
snag ,   USA   (09.10.12)
What do the Umanians get out of it ? Nothing except human feces and garbage everywhere, the town and a vicinity looks worst than Woodstock's field the day after! They have to clean the mess.
3. It Isn't Just Breslovers
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (09.10.12)
It's people who want a spiritual high, and can't find it in our Holy Land of Eretz Yisroel, the land chosen by G-d for his Temple and Sanctuary. Go figure.

They should offer kosher food and acceptable lodgings then. If you have a number of tourists coming who all have the same needs then you want to cater to said needs.

Naftali ,   Seattle, WA   (09.11.12)
to #1 Be carefully that only that the Lord our Almighty the Lord is the One and nothing else, and remember to read Deut 13.
10. their wives are extremely happy

now they have some peace and quiet in the house, even if it is only for a few days.
11. lets hope they behave themselves on the plane
Haim ,   TA   (09.11.12)
Last year, a statement from ELAL was published stating that the ultra orthdox passangers, were smoking on the plane, walking around during takeoff and landing and various incidents of bad behavior which endangered the lives of the captain and the crew.
12. Jewish holidays are more meaningful celebrated in Israel
Jewish Princess   (09.11.12)
Jewish holidays are also a time to spend with your families and friends.
13. #11: I agree! The behavior described by
Runner1983 ,   USA   (09.11.12)
Danny Sadeh in his article on last year's flight was an embarrassment!
14. Haim in TA: why are you using this forum as an opportunity
SETTHERECORDSTRAIGHT   (09.11.12)
for bashing the 'ultra orthodox' as you put it. Your time could obviously be better spent than by making lashon hara about your brothers. Maybe not everyone has the best of middot, but they are going to Uman for a real purpose. They are pleading on YOUR behalf, and on behalf of the rest of Klal Yisroel, that we should have a yeshua. How do you think we have become so endangered and hated by the rest of the world in the first place?
15. JOURNEY TO LOURDES
David ,   New York, NY   (09.12.12)
In conjunction with the Hasidim "pilgrimage" to Uman I too will be making a "pilgrimage," journeying to Lourdes to pray for a miracle: that the Hasidim conduct themselves in a manner that falls with the norms of Western civilization. Hey, it could happen, but it will take a MIRACLE!
16. Two questions
Big Al ,   Zichron Yaacov   (09.11.12)
Any idea who's paying and will they be coming back?
17. #14 please take your meds dear
Haim ,   TA   (09.12.12)
thanks on behalf of the general public
18. 8. #2
Yon ,   Haifa-Kiev   (09.12.12)
"They should offer kosher food and acceptable lodgings then." SHOULD they? Really? Have you seen those "tourists" in Uman?
19. Any chance
peter ,   tel aviv   (09.12.12)
any chance of them staying there? we wouldn't have to suffer van with annoying moshiach songs driving through towns. Wouldn't have to listen to baruch ha shem and bezrat ha shem and wouldn't have to worry which bus we are allowed to take and where to sit.
20. Peter, in Tel Aviv - of course
(09.13.12)
no surprise here that these anti-Jewish, anti-G-d comments are coming from Tel Aviv. i wish someone would surprise me once in a while with just a spark of holiness. so sad. im not sure if you are jewish, hoping you are not. if you are, trying having a little love for your dati brothers. perhaps they are praying for you in uman, trying to find a salvation for you. you are so clueless.
21. 4 , Why not quote a rabbi , or the pope ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.18.12)
They , as Tolstoi , are also believers in childish superstitions .
22. Peter # 19
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.18.12)
It's certainly more than a year ago that i have seen them , and it was in our Capital , Yeroushalaim , and not in my town , nor in yours . It are NOT the Breslover who act in favor of segregation , for them "believing" in this childish superstition is only filled with joy .
