It doesn't seize to amaze me the amount of racism that exist in Israel today. Then again it doesn't surprise me at all. My dad told me of the racism he experienced as a Yemenite Jew in Israel back in the 50s and apparently not much has changed since.

Being Jewish for thousand of years, meant trying to be ethical and compassionate for others. We have allowed terrible episodes in our history to cloud our judgment and excuse our slide away from the standard that we have been so proud of for centuries. Shame on those racist families! When I read the article about the parents' in Eilat protesting against children going to school-because they are Sudanese---the shame I felt in my heart and stomach--We are JEWS. Think back to Biblical times; think about all of the groups that were around then and no longer are. Jews are here.
