As a US citizen, I find the murder of our ambassador and diplomatic personnel to be inexcusable. Nations have gone to war for less than this. The Libyan regime owes the US some manner of compensation for this at the very least. It is inexcusable for innocent people to be killed just because someone dislikes a film - however offensive it may be - and invading an embassy and killing an ambassador are even worse. Yes the film is offensive, but there is plenty of material offensive to people of different faiths. In fact, there's plenty of stuff offensive to Muslims that has gone unnoticed like the displaying of their prophet on South Park's opening credits in the 90s. This story is giving WAY too much credit to the film maker. These issues have been in place for a long time.
