5. Bedouin settlement?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.13.12)
It looks like a trash heap. Get rid of that illegal and ugly eyesore, and send the land thieves packing. The owners of the privately owned land should immediately press their case in the courts, as should the Jewish National Fund. The Bedouins are not "indigenous" people, anyway -- they are your quintessential nomads. It's time for them to move on.

8. Timely article
david   (09.14.12)
How can this illegal land grab be allowed on State land and privately owned Jewish land? Why are the authorities responsible for this land not seeking Court orders for the eviction of these illegal squatters and the demolition of any structures illegally built on such land? Talk about being suckers and being taken for a ride ... Wake up Israel!
9. Good luck with that.

10. Bedouin are taking back what was stolen from them
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (09.26.12)
Zionist colonialism only managed to purchase 5-6% of the land in Palestine. And it was largely obtained from absentee landowners who exploited Ottoman law to lay their hands on large tracts of land they never worked or even saw. In the process the Palestinian farmers were robbed of their livelihood. Land sold to Zionist agents became forever "extraterritorialised", meaning it went into Jewish Zionist ownership and could not be bought back. The Palestinian Arabs learned from this and this is why they stopped selling land to the Zionist newcomers. So here you are, Mr Briggs. Less than 6% of the land was legally purchased by Zionism, the rest was stolen/violently taken from their Palestinian Arab owners. You accuse the Bedouin of a "land grab". That is rich coming from a Zionist like you. The Bedouin are merely in the process of taking back what always has been rightly and morally theirs.
11. Regavim is wrong to deny Bedouin rights
Abe Hayeem ,   United Kingdom   (10.22.12)
Aerial maps of Palestine, and especially of the Negev and Galilee show that these areas were farmed by the Bedouin for generations, and their land rights, most often backed by deeds which the Israeli government refuses to acknowledge. The JNF only purchased less than 5% of the the land declared as the Israeli state, and 93% of the land that belonged to the Palestinians was taken over by the state, in league with the JNF, especially grabbing 13% of all the land of over 500 villages that were deliberately destroyed. The Bedouin were moved from most of the Negev into the 'Siyag' and promised their land would be returned, but it never was. Now Israel wishes to complete this ethnic cleansing and move all the remaining Bedouin into the substandard townships, with no consultation with the Bedouin residents of the current villages, which were always denied proper services or infrastructure, which were provided for all Kibbutzim and Jewish Israeli settlements.
