31. What if the NewYorker agreed with Bibi?
Mike ,   Jerusalem   (09.13.12)
How ridiculous it would be if the NewYorker or New York Slimes actually agreed or supported Bibi?? Remember the Times put reports of the destruction of European Jewry on page 38

Teddy ,   Jerusalem , Israel   (09.13.12)
I do not like Bibi, or more correctly his policies. I see him as a destructive force in Israeli history.
37. What should Netanyahu do?
mindRider ,   The Free World   (09.13.12)
Being very much in agreement with #17 I do feel that Bibi is doing a near perfect job. I would like to see a leader doing better under an existential threat as given by Iran's mullah's with their possibility of following up on those threats. Being disliked by the second Democrat US president, Clinton also dis-avowed him, is better than being patted on the shoulder for being a good boy in giving in to all the whims of these lefties as those whims have brought Israel only death and destruction.
38. an other proof, Bibi can not rely on obama and his backers
hadad ,   u.k   (09.13.12)
39. Netanyahu forgets history
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (09.13.12)
The normla decent Israeli who keeps his head down and just gets on with life working, providing for the family, bringing up their kids. Likes the quiet life . He rarely puts his/her head above the parapet, and certainly doesn't involve themselves in the nitty gritty of Israeli politics. But, the one thing they expect their Prime Minister to do, automatically is maintain good relations with the United States. Netanyahu forgets what happened to Yitzhak Shamir
40. Remnick is Wrong
Jay Abouaf ,   Jaffa, Israel   (09.13.12)
Mr.Remnick is another foolish "Expert"
41. SHUT UP you MORON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

42. Netanyahu want's to commit suicide
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (09.13.12)
and take Israel to hell with him. Israelis need to wakeup and realize that war with Iran only benefits a few elite Jews who don't even live in Israel. And they will sacrifice the rest of us to enhance their own bottom lines. War will do nothing to bring down the high taxes, low wages and the high cost of living Israelis have to pay.
43. not journalism but political spin
zionist forever   (09.13.12)
This article is totally one sided and viewed not from the perspective of an outsider but of somebody who wants to convince everybody his personal views are the correct ones. he military & political echelons are against an attack on Iran & Bibi is not listening to them. Remnick doesn't mention the fact that some generals and politicans support an attack. The majority of the Israeli public are against an attack. Not true the public is divided and in a democracy the PM has the final say not protestors. He is angry because Bibi doesn't believe Obama is handling Iran right and prefers sanctions to military action. Since when was Bibi an Obama employee? He doesn't like the fact Bibi has made no secret of the fact he doesn't like Obama and wants Romney to win the election. obama has made no secret of the fact he dislikes Bibi whilst Romney supports Bibi's line on things, who is the natural choice for Bibi to align himself with? Bibi doesn't trust Obama Is there a reason why he must trust him. Hist trusted American allies are not the elected President but rather his friends on the right. Well Bibi represents a right wing government Obama is a leftists whose policies Bibi disagrees with. Israelis are not American programmed robots designed to agree with everything the American President likes. In Israel leftists trust Daphne Leef but not the elected PM. THIS WHOLE ARTICLE IS NOTHING BUT POLITICAL SPIN

Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (09.13.12)
It is not spin, it is an opinion, and ajust as valid a you claiming Barak still wants to attack Iran (he doesn't). The whole idea is moot now anyway latest polling shows 70% of Americans don't want to go to war against Iran on behalf of Israel. Face it you have lost the argument, now be a good boy and sit quite whilst the real players in world politics get Iran to have a fully verifiable nuclear programme.

#12 then how come other countries do that to Israel all the time but you don't seem disturbed by that?
51. Netanyahu and Romney "united and profoundly cynical." both
Sarah B ,   U.S.A, /Israel   (09.13.12)
of them FRUSTRATED since UNPOPULAR.
52. Kudos To David Remnick and Yitzhak Benhorn
World Citizen ,   the world   (09.13.12)
They have hit the nail squarely on it's head.
53. Remnick is wrong
UK Lawyer ,   UK   (09.13.12)
My comment to David Remnick would be ..... "It is hard to overestimate the risks that Barack Obama himself poses to the future of his own country as well as that of the Israeli State and much of the Western world, by his:- 1.Dithering inactivity, 2. His overt numerous political faux pas relating to Israel and its Premier ( such as being caught on an open mic. bad mouthing Netanyahu to the then unpopular French Premier, the "must remain an undivided Jerusalem" screw up, and the "I've got Israel's back" fiasco ) , 3. His abject failure to understand the Arab psyche, 4.His inability to comprehend that the "sanctions" card has failed ( and will continue to fail ) miserably viz a viz Iran, and most of all .... 5.By bringing an unprecented aura of weakenss to the Office of President of the United States. "
54. The post at #39 is not mine
Sarah B. ,   Tel Aviv / London   (09.13.12)
55. David Remnick long time Israel Basher
Rod ,   Fargo N.Dakota   (09.13.12)
He's a typical rich leftist Jew who doesn't represent average Jews.He would like Israel to obey every Upper East side and West side Manhattan Jew.He would bash Israel no matter who was the P.M. unless it was Yariv Oppenheimer. He thinks obama is the messiah and would love to see Israeli leaders crawl like worms to obama. BTW The New Yorker is only prestigious among the upper west sider and upper East siders
56. ridiculous article .
alan ashkenazie ,   nyc ny   (09.13.12)
its easy and cowardly to talk from behind .
57. Remnick is correct
Barry ,   Boston   (09.13.12)
Bibi's strategy in creating a united front against Iran is starting to backfire. He needs to stop trying to back the US into a corner. Everyone here understands what he is doing and no president of the US is going to get railroaded into a war with Iran, not even Mitt Romney.
58. remnick
alexi   (09.13.12)
remnick never did military service, and like peres is an idealist with no grasp of reality. His advice is worth zero. BIbi is in fact dffending israel from suicidal politicies of olmert, peres and barak. His point about romney is worthy since outside of economics, romney is nervous and out of his element in security matters. Obama is actually tougher in military matters than is romney.
59. Poor Ynet and its charlatans
