33. re: #5
Joe ,   US   (09.14.12)
So if the war is pointless, perhaps you believe that they should just let Iran get a bomb and wipe Israel off the earth. Those thousands or even millions of lives apparently aren't as important as the other ones you are so concerned about. After all, they are just Israelis/Jews, right?
34. #1 and all the rest...
rob ,   Orangevale USA   (09.15.12)
What are you all whining about? The United States of America has now clearly expressed it's 'red lines'. Shut your whiny asses up right now. The United states has as much to lose... shit, MORE to lose, than Israel, and we are together in this quagmire. You really want to get too far out in front? Piss us off and risk it all? Does any right thinking Israeli, or U.S. citizen really think Iran is going to get a nuclear shot off, before WE, the USA, and you Israel, annihilates them in a horrifying nuclear attack, the likes Israel could NEVER deliver on it's own! If even allowed, Iran will scream for mercy! You screamed for a "red line"! There you go. You are asking for OUR munitions, you want OUR refueling capability, you ask for OUR U.N. support... ad infinitum. Shut up. We will do the heavy lifting as usual, but we will not let them destroy you. You have your secret things. Believe me, we have ours. Man!, You are just now getting subs that are a 'thousand years old'! C'mon!!! The world needs you. The world does not need a nuclear Iran. Shalom. Rob
35. Has someone put something in the water at the white house?
a ,   canada   (09.15.12)
This U.S. position makes absolutely no sense. This will become the classic adage of closing the barn door after the horse has gone. I can just hear it now... "It's like Obama preventing Iran getting the bomb after they finished making one." It's bad enough that Obama doesn't support Israel, but he doesn't have to insult everybody's intelligence as well. Is the American constituency that stupid?
36. #32, Addressing your superior like this? Jealous na, na, na!

38. How come a red line for Iran, but appeasement for Israel.
Alex   (09.15.12)
American hypocrisy at its best, especially considering their complicity in the Holocaust in WWII. American foreign policy has always been naive and misguided, but never more than today.
39. Rettenmoser, I swear you are losing it by the day

40. #20 you forgot one thing!
Chad ,   U.S.   (09.15.12)
Israel hasn't been calling for Iran to be wiped from the map for the last 30 year's Why is it so hard for people to see who the aggressor is? Is it Israel? Is it the Leaders 8f Iran? You think Israel wants this? And do you think if Israel didn't have these weapons they would still have a nation today. Come on people, wake up the bias towards Israel shows your ignorance.

You are obviously a Liberal idiot who does not know the first thing about history. Probably because you are a product of the Liberal ran California school system. Probably failed math also.

Jason Wreight ,   Melbourne Australia   (09.15.12)
In all their long history, the jews have NEVER been able to get on with their neighbours. NEVER, EVER. That cannot be mere coincidence. But now they're terrified that the neighbours will be able to fight back decisively, and that no other country will offer itself for use as a rathole into which they'll be able to disperse . Better they learn to smile and play nice.
45. Delusion and Illusion

How do you expect to avoid destruction, when Iran drops some in your lap and turns the world into a fireball, Rest assured appeasesment and skulking under a rock is not gonna save your butt. Monkey no see, monkey no do

48. To: No. 27
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.15.12)
Oh! So you think that the Arabs have an absolutely perfect right to invade American embassies abroad, eh? Someone cut your balls off long ago. Don't worry -- Israel will fix all you sopranos. By the way -- it's "in regard to." Unless, of course, you're absolutely dead set on demonstrating your ignorance. With respect to Iran -- Israel will do what Israel must do. Deal with it. You have your "red lines." NEWSFLASH: So does Israel. Got a problem with that, asswipe?
49. Obama secretly wants Israel to attack Iran

and save himself the dirty work. You know what? He's going to get his wish.
50. A mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv is O's red line...
David ,   Hartford USA   (09.15.12)
Hitler said he would kill the Jews- and he did. The Dwarf of Tehran said he will wipe Israel off the planet- so a prudent person would do something to prevent that from happening. I hope Bibi is a prudent man. We know that Mr. O is not.

53. obama won't be intimidated
alexandra longisland ,   sands point n.y.   (09.15.12)
78% of americans are against any military action with iran, obama is setting obama up to be painted as the israel first candidate in the upcoming debates, romney campaign today tried to deny he is a neocon but with 90% of his advisors being jewish neocons mostly holdovers from the bush administration it was a vein attempt, obama is now ahead of romney by 11% !! obama is presenting himself as the American president who refuses to bow to jewish interests in america attempting to force america into vanother war americans will pay for in american lives and economic hardship, romney is finished
54. thank you #27, i agree 100% with you
the mad zionist ,   sf-ny-is   (09.15.12)
But on one hand, Obama says do not strike without notifying US, but while he says that, he seems dempsey, panetta to Israel to talk them out of going ahead With it. For some reason, maybe politics, Obama doesn't want anything that involves Iran even if Israel acts alone. I thought for awhile that it had to do with the elections, but I'm starting to think otherwise. He's a Muslim apologist, making he'll do anything to please any muslims. Or else the best way to handle this would be to publicly announce that the US does not deserve to get tangled up in another war, but Israel is our ally and if it feels threatened, it has a green light to act unilaterally. But he doesn't do this, and Israel having respect for the US is holding back. Because i promise you, Israel won't allow Iran to acquire nukes. I wonder what the nay Sayers in Israel are saying now after saying wait for the US to help. I'm strongly against involving the US in another war. But Obama set up a no fly zone for Paris in Libya when Paris oil was in jeopardy, but he won't even come close to offering anything like that to Israel. Obama should challenge bibi and say publicly, you have a green light because we know you are in jeopardy. But he won't Jake
55. #40 I guess having nuclear weapons is not
Ken ,   Burma at Peace   (09.15.12)
a good reason to be a nation today. Perhaps being able to make peace with your neighbours is. How many years must a country exist without making peace? Can Israel exist without war?
56. Netanyahu's politics
PaulZion ,   Israel   (09.15.12)
Netanyahu is definitely playing election year politics, both in the US elections and in Israel. He is that unscrupulous, and I am continually surprised that people don't see that, even though they know him for 15 years. The Iran issue is used in Israel to deflect attention away from the social protest and the poor economic decisions the government took, forcing it to impose stringent economic measures. He wants the Iran issue to be a counterbalance as the main election issue, because he knows that Israelis always rally to the right when their patriotism in called upon - just as he knows that he will lose if the social-economic issue is the major election issue. The same goes for the presidential elections: he is agitating for a disharmonious atmosphere with Obama in order to influence voters - because he believes that Israel would be more comfortable with Romney, for Israel's (or Netanyahu's) own narrow interests.
57. Where should the red line be?
Hunt S. Cross ,   England   (09.15.12)
"For now the administration has no evidence that Tehran has made a decision to build a bomb." on its own is a pointless test. And US intelligence services may or may never know for certain whether Iran has the bomb or not. But add two other tests: 1. do they have the capability to make and use a nuclear device, whether traditional or "dirty" against another country. 2. do they have the intent to attack Israel with or without it. A positive answer to any two of the three should warrant the peaceful closure of Iran's nuclear facilities and, if not achievable through negotiation, their destruction. Intent has been clear for several years. Capability breaks down into adequacy of resource, capability to build, capability to deliver. If they have those, too, and refuse to negotiate constructively, then it is time to destroy their facilities. Netanyahu is surely right.
58. live with it...
Ken   (09.15.12)
well Israel can do nothing now other than accept the fact that Iran will continue to develop it's nuclear program unabated. Maybe instead of threatening war Israel should make peace......
59. Isn't it very plain to see that.....
macktheknife   (09.15.12)
America's "President"has every intention of letting Iran have THE Bomb! This could be another Black September - not only for Israel but Europe also. I see a very black day coming to Obama and the USA. I don't give one hoot for Obama, but I'd hate to see GB go up in smoke AGAIN.... this time with no healing in sight!
