Wrong!! Out of 31 talkbackers only about 3 or 4 weren't effusive w/ their good wishes and you're the only one who was downright nasty. I, for one, cared and continue to care VERY, VERY much and apparently I'm not the only one. You don't have to care - but it would have been kinder not to comment. A very inspiring piece, especially about being prepared. We often go thru life just hoping / expecting that everything will be OK despite knowing that big problems can arise out of the blue. Yes prepare. Hoping that for Gilad everyting keeps getting better and better.

Hey Gilad, may be you are not noticed in Tel Aviv, because you haven't accomplished much? What about Jonathan Pollard? Are you aware how his name was linked with yours while in captivity? What about how much the Jews of Gush Katif have suffered? ...leading to your kidnapping?? After spending so much time in their land, have you bothered to visit any of them, who continue to suffer with a government that now did more for just one person yourself, and nothing for them? Are you oblivious to the rockets fired from your now "former home" that your father's liberal politics helped give away to the terrorists? I had a heart for Israel before this young man was captured,but then I started praying more, and studying more about Israel, the people and politics. My heart for Israel got a Lot Bigger & A Lot stronger. I'm happy beyond words for this young Soldier and his family that he made it home. Peace and love to You from kentucky Giliad!

You are an inspiration!

I am so happy that you are rehabilitating yourself both physically and mentally. I think most of us believed you would be released some day but for me, the frightening aspect was always your mental health, if depression and anxiety would overwhelm you. Thank God you are in good mental health. I wish you a wonderful and full life. Before your release I posted my talkbacks under the name "Free Gilad Shalit", just to get your name "out there" as much as possible. Thankfully, I no longer need to use that name and thank God with all my heart that you are FREE.

It is such an honor to read your thoughts of wisdom. I hope that you live a long peaceful life from now on and that you maintain such a stable, transcendent attitude regarding life. Thanks for sharing your insights: you are truly a gift of renewed awareness for all of us wherever we live. Personally, you have helped me say "yes" to life.

II think that Gilad has paid his dues. You and I can work on some of the other stuff that needs to be done. I am curious regarding the degree of your public activism.

Todah, Gilad, for your wise words. After I heard about your kidnapping, I said a prayer for your safe return every day. Thank G'd you were able to return safely! As for your desire to be surrounded by nature, I recommend Maui (Hawaiian Islands) - especially a drive on The Road to Hana, which has some absolutely stunning and breathtaking scenery.
