Excuse me, but I don't see Jews rioting in any countries protesting anti-Semitic and virulently anti-Israel cartoons that are a daily feature in newspapers throughout the Islamic world. Nor do I see Christians rioting in any countries protesting anti-Christian cartoons which are also a mainstay of newspapers throughout the Islamic world. On the other hand, I do see a lot of Moslems going on murderous rampages in a great many countries. Since when is simply stating an obvious fact "slander?" Truth is never slanderous or libelous, dear. Finally, this has nothing to do with the empowerment of women in Iran. It has to do with a manifestation of the deep social unrest in Iran -- it would appear that quite a few people are chafing under Islamofascist rule. That's the wellspring that needs to be tapped and nourished by the West.

Let's hope that Haredi women. or Crhistian women in Haredi neighborhoods, do the same: keep safe their rights and the rights of all women at all.

Surprisingly, I agree with almost everything you say in your first paragraph. I do in fact think that there are major issues with Islam as an imperialist belief system. However, in pursuit of my earlier point why not substitute 'some' for 'a lot of' 'Moslems'? It might enable you to avoid being accused of making statements which are unsubstantiated. To be fair to you, perhaps the only Muslims you have personally encountered are murderous individuals bent on riotous mayhem. But then, I suppose if the only Jews encountered by non-Jews were the inhabitants of Mea Shearim they might have an interesting view of Jews in general. Finally, women in Iran are suffering because of 'Islamofascism' rather than patriarchy -right? No link betwen the two, then?
