1. Easily solved
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.19.12)
Let the jumpers jump; let vehicular traffic continue. It will be the last time anyone tries a similar stunt. These so-called "social activists" -- a tiny community at best -- are professional rabble-rousers. Most come from spoiled upbringings, so the social ills they are protesting don't affect them.
2. they ain't jumpin' they r lookin' 4 poor fool 2 do it 4 them
(09.19.12)
they ain't jumpin' 'cause they r 2 self-centered to even think of actually doing such a thing. ignore them, they'll get tired and go home
3. Sarah B
Dave ,   Montreal, Canada   (09.19.12)
I hope you don't go around calling yourself Jewish with these disgusting views.
4. Sarah.B.
ray stuart ,   Zurich/Israel   (09.19.12)
Hopefully this post was by a (pretend Sarah) If not ,Live in your world as a well paid Lawyer( As you state you are) and do not try to belittle the citizens of Israel who wish for social justice and a better standard of living,No more,No less than you would wish for youself if placed in he same situation. By the way do you live in Israel or he USA ?? If this post was not from you ,then I apologise for my comment.. Shalom Ray
5. Childish behaviour
Alex   (09.19.12)
Threaten to kill themselves if they don't get what they want is childish and cowardous. I'm certainly no wealthy person, and if I wanted to change something I'd work hard to achieve my goals. If you don't have a housing/job at the moment, join a kibbutz or volunteer at some farm, I did that for some time. Easy solution, the problem is most of these people don't want to work and rather just complain...
6. I like #5's comments
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (09.19.12)
That's fine for a single person...but what about a family with kids? Can they just pick up and 'join a kibbutz' (which takes a while to be accepted into) or 'volunteer on a farm?' But I don't know what these protesters want - to wave a magic wand and everything is okay??
7. To: No. 3
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.19.12)
Well, do you remember when ultra-Orthodox Jews tried to stop tanks from racing to the fronts on Yom Kippur in 1973 by lying down in the roadways? The order given was "no obstacles; keep going." Do you think Israel's present situation is any less critical? Or that these so-called "social activists" are any less a fifth column? I am not prepared to see Israel go down, whether from without or within. I am quite sorry that you did not feel similarly. I CERTAINLY hope that you do not go around calling yourself a Jew, given YOUR disgusting views.

Birdi ,   Israel   (09.19.12)
''spoiled upbringings?" I think not. These people are far less fortunate than you are Sarah & you should have the understanding to sympathize with them as you know how hard it is to make it in Israel if dont have a perfect education. Somehow I cannot accept this post was written by the Sarah B. that I know & respect for her intelligence.
10. Sarah B, u have proven 2 b UNEDUCATED enoug, you don't need
you ,   there   (09.19.12)
to push it futher. just keep it LOW as it is.
11. I am with these protesters!
Daniel ,   Vietnam   (09.19.12)
I am with these protesters, and I understand what they are going through. When I used to live in Israel, (which was 1/2 a year ago). I was stressed, broke, and I had to take anti-depression pills. I could not even scrape a $1,000 together to leave the country. After I managed to convince my mom to buy me a plane ticket to Vietnam. My life has dramatically improved, I payed my mom back, I make a lot more money now, and I actually manage to save more than $1,200 a months (I'm no longer harassed by the bank). This is something I could never imagine to do in Israel. And the best thing of all, I no longer need to take anti-depression pills.
12. To Sarah B
David ,   Israel   (09.19.12)
I know you love to get attention through your shocking comments as a means to feel important and make life more interesting for yourself. You have no right to judge the citizens that struggle in this beloved country of ours where the only thing we see at the end of a hard working month is further minus in our bank balance. Not because we are irresponsible but because the price of living far exceeds the average income. Sure while I may not agree with the ways in which they choose to protest , it is far from a means of spoilt attention. It is truly a self degrading act that is a result of the situation here. I am sure you weren't talking the same when people threw themselves from buildings when the US economy crashed in 2008. Please do all of us a favour, your embarrassing comments are not welcome.
13. Oh, for heaven's sake!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.19.12)
"We are resigning ourselves to this fate like it isn't our responsibility to change it. There is no way that this life was meant to be war, and mortgage, and pension and money. Something feels very wrong, and we're sick of obeying it blindly." No, life is not meant to be war, but that is -- in our case -- what we have. Or would you crybabies simply like to shut down the State of Israel and find a cheap mortgage somewhere in the Diaspora? Do you think that the lives of any Jews in the Diaspora would be worth a plugged nickel without the State of Israel? Do you think an affordable mortgage for you is worth more than defense spending which guarantees your survival and the survival of the State of Israel? Not happy with your pension? Get an education and find a better job. And stop feeling so sorry for yourselves all the time. Think of the tzena. Think of all the people who lived in shacks without running water for years until Israel could build housing for them. They didn't protest. They were grateful to live in a country where they could be free to be Jews. You "social activists" are positively nauseating. How dare you disrupt the lives of thousands of people with your selfish whining? You want to commit suicide? Go ahead. You are not worthy to live in the State of Israel.
14. they are dreaming of a romantic revolution
zionist forever   (09.19.12)
This lot sitting in the streets are not desperate, you got kids there for goodness sake they think its cool to join in take part in some romantic revolution. All thats missing now are the red flags and the guilotine to cut off the heads of all the evil oppressive tycoons. This lot will never be satisfied no matter what the concessions the government makes these people will always wnt more because the social justice army have created a culture of entitlement. If I want something as long as its in the name of social justice then I am entitled to it. Time for the citizens of the state of Tel Aviv to grow up and accept just because they want something they are not entitled to it.
15. Ray # 4
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (09.19.12)
Protest can be fine but there are better ways to go about it. These people should not have the right to hinder or stop people from going about their business. Especially when the people they are interfering with are not responsible for these peoples problems.
16. I don't get what they actually WANT
Annie ,   Tel Aviv   (09.19.12)
Yes life in Israel is hard - there's certainly wars and stress and it's expensive and people are sometimes mean to each other. But what the hell do they want? What is one concrete idea that these people are proposing besides jumping off buildings? They're young, they have energy. Why don't they start something positive like a non profit or something and stop obstructing traffic with sentimental gibberish.
17. Same as #11
Daniel nr 2 ,   UK   (09.19.12)
Another Daniel here. I was in exactly the same situation as you (though without the pills). Also couldn't even scrap together the money to leave, and had to get parents to help out. Now in the UK, earning enough for a decent living, paying back my debts and starting to enjoy life!
18. #1 Sarah B living in USA
Get a job, ,   Sarah B   (09.19.12)
Not everybody is born with a silver spoon or a kept woman like you are, Sarah B. You do not even have to work, you probably never did. Writing talkbacks 24/7 on ynet, are you? No work? No life? Nothing else to do? You have no right to comment on topics like this. Better shut up, Sarah B living in the USA.
19. Hey Sarah B,
Jack H. ,   US   (09.19.12)
at least Mitt Romney has one vote for sure. LOL
20. To No. 11 Daniel, did you live in Florentine for a while
Alon ,   Tel-Aviv   (09.20.12)
and if this is the Daniel i know, he is telling the truth poor bastard just couldn't make here, with all his degrees and smarts
21. 13
shame on you ,   working 2 jobs.   (09.20.12)
Salaries must be raised. Rents must be lowered. Mortgages must be lowered. Young people are the future generation of Israel, without them,Israel is lost. Not everyone has bulging bank accounts. Not everyone owns more than one property. Do you know what it's like not to be able to ''finish the month?'' No, you don't. You have no right to judge these kids whilst you sit comfortably far away in Manhattan.
22. Dear Annie #16
Asher ,   Australia   (09.20.12)
What they want is to be able to live like any gentile in any other western country. Cars, why a Jew owning a car has to come with a 300% price tag? Why a mortgage loan should be both indexed to the USD or the CPI or both or the highest of the two, plus compounded interest? Look at Australia/ New Zealand: Floating mortgage rate. You start at point A and finish at point B. In Israel the more you pay back the more you owe to the banks. Cars: Every working girl drives a Boxter or a convertible BMW at $ 15K while in Israel they cost as much as an appartment. I had to leave the country 16 years ago to finally have life. Who said that gentiles deserve better living standards than Jews? do they s#it roses?
23. What Number 21 said.
mea   (09.20.12)
24. No entrepreneurship
Aharon   (09.20.12)
If there were entrepreneurs in among the protesters, someone would've taken bets on who was likely to jump.
25. No Nets, Please...
musicwriter4life ,   USA   (09.20.12)
Jump, fools. It shows your iq when you choose to harm yourself to get attention...
26. #22 has the answer
yosef ,   williamsburg US   (09.20.12)
"What they want is to be able to live like any gentile in any other western country........." And that is the problem!!!
27. Funny the dramatic difference in how the police behaved
Alan   (09.20.12)
When youths went to the roof top in Migron the police used extreme violence while their commander was instructing yassamnikim to kill the protesters. .I guess that they were trying to act like human beings for a change.

The Palmach Model worked without economic sleaze the current Sleaze economy needs drastic modifying .The Rich gallud ought give more
30. I agree with Sarah B at number 13.
Itzhik ,   Israel   (09.20.12)
Stop whining, people have it harder than they do. Live in extreme poverty for a week, know what it actually feels to be depressed, then and only then, complain.
