1. All this explaining and yet the talkbackers here
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (09.21.12)
Refuse to believe it...doesn't matter who say's it, they just fail to see through the obvious and keep on asking for a strike which would only come back to bite them hard in the long run...
2. Les autres chiens
Dr. Jack   (09.21.12)
Hey Peter from Vienna, After the war, people in France called the Austrians, not "Les Autrichiens", but "Les autres chiens!!" Need translation?? Nothing has changed since!!
3. peter
JL   (09.21.12)
if a convicted murdered lived down the block from you told you and the whole neighborhood he would kill you and your children..what would you do?.ignore?..negotiate?..make a plan?
4. We dont know what Israel has.We know
Dyslexic... ,   Israel...   (09.21.12)
what they have. With Israeli imagination, these problems that everybody talks about have been solved by Israeli brain power. There will be Israel sleep well.To the Iran its not the missiles you have to worry about its the other stuff.
5. Other options
Josh ,   Bet Shemesh   (09.21.12)
Reports of Israel using airfields in Azerbaijan? Jericho missiles? I expect more from an expert analysis
6. @ 3 A curious comparison
Konrad ,   Warszawa   (09.21.12)
"If a convicted murderer lived..." Iran in the role of a "convicted murderer"? Anything to support that strange reasoning? K.
7. #1 instead
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (09.21.12)
Instead of talking so much, maybe listen to others for once. Everyone knows that Israel does not have real capability to stop Iranian nukes, but if the choice is delay the inevitable with a failed attack, or certainly dissappear in a cloud of radioactive dust, most people choose the former. That said, I am against the attack for one simple reason: Iran will not target Israel, they will target the US and Saudi Arabia. If I am wrong? As long as Israel holds Judea and Samaria, only 40000 Israelis die in the worst case.
8. Attack and live.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (09.21.12)
The result desired, a burning crater where Tel Aviv used to be. Fight and live, do not attack and surely die.
9. Experts are right sometimes and wrong
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.21.12)
many other times. If I had a shekels for each time an expert was wrong, then I could retire in luxury. If Israel did not waste money on anti Zionist draft dodgers, then maybe we could have paid for the weapons and weapon systems we need.
10. Iran/Israel
dazalax ,   West Azerbaican/Iran   (09.21.12)
Good comments, we all are tired of this! come and do what you like and get it over with! just destroy instead of building, make wars instead love, kill instead of create, take life instead of saving life! is this god talking? this is addressed to all of those god lovers who kill because of it , start wars because of it, and NEVER HAVE USED OR WILLING TO USE GOD FOR PEACE! WHAT SORT OF !"£$%^& god all of you people jew, muslem, xristian, etc beleieve in which just encoureges killing??
11. Another moron passing himself off as an expert
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (09.21.12)
Apparently he's never heard of nuclear weapons or taken into consideration that they were built to be used.
12. bb does NOT care, he is CELEBRATING 80,000NIS party.
Sarah B ,   U.S.A/Israel   (09.21.12)
13. #11 I suppose you are much smarter than any expert
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (09.21.12)
Right Noodles?! Tell us about your field of studies ( doubt you've had any) and how it relates to military and strategic matters...I'll save the international matters part since its way above your knowledge.
14. So, Dr. Josef Joffe, what do we let? Sit on our butts.....
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (09.21.12)
and wait for Iran to blow Israel, the Palestinians, the Jordanians and many others in the Middle East to hell? Muslims have no qualms about killing their own. Just watch the news today. Most Israelis, Bibi supporters and non-Bibi supporters, know damn well that we CANNOT rely on the United States and the Europeans would be only too happy to see the end of the fly in the ointment, Israel. The world stood by and watched 6 Million Jews slaughtered and the will do exactly the same to day. This week is the 39th Anniversary of the Yom Kippur War and we lost more than 2,900 soldiers by listening to the USA. You sit in the safety United Sates with your ass in the butter and tell us what to do? You have a damn cheek!
15. # 3 JL
Albrecht   (09.21.12)
What about a insane neighbour, who sees in almost each neighbour a "convicted murderer" and kills him in his paranoia?
16. ANYTHING is justified to prevent another holocaust.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.21.12)
America used nuclear bombs on Japan to finish WW II. Though Japan never posed an existential threat to America. Israel need not limit her attack on Iran's nukes to conventional weapons. If EMPs or nuclear weapons are necessary to prevent another holocaust. So be it. ANYTHING is justified to prevent another holocaust.
17. There is a simpler, cheaper way
Just Cruising ,   Guatemala   (09.21.12)
Iran is today's Iran because of Ahmadinejad, the 7-th century oriented clergy and the parasites in the ruling class that bow to them. The majority of Persians are well-meaning, peaceful people. A well orchestrated attack aimed at taking out Ahmadinejad, Khameini and the majority of the mullahs would finally rid the region of these war-mongering pests and neutralize Iran.
18. Israel couldn't do it
W. ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (09.21.12)
Tiny Israel who failed in its 33 day offensive against Hizballah to achieve any of its goals, will never be able to challenge Iran and all the threats and maneuvering is nothing but empty rhetoric and a stupid attempt to bluff the US into direct military action. However, its failure, so far, is an evidence of Israel's deminishing importance and utility
19. Expert ? What
Fahd Hussain ,   Kuwait   (09.21.12)
Let is accept him as an expert until we know the real results of a strike .I would be sure of one thing : he is wrong .
20. # 16 "No limit"? "ANYTHING justified to prevent it"??
Albrecht   (09.21.12)
The nazis also were convinced to "know" the future and they also "knew" that the (so called) Jewish-Bolsheviks will sometimes destroy the western civilisation. Therefore they did "ANYTHING to prevent it", without any "limits". Your language scares me.
21. Using nukes to stop Iran from getting nukes...
esse ,   --   (09.21.12)
...seems logical to some of the more inbred posters here. What would the consequences be of a nuke attack be? Israel would lose the backing of the US at the UN Security Council which would lead to the indictment of Israeli leaders, sanctions on Israel's economy, and travel restrictions for Israelis. Perhaps this has always been Iran's intention...not to build nukes, but instead to hope that paranoia would make Israel overreact. Iran is playing Israel and the world is laughing.
22. N° 13 ;-)
norman ,   france, Eurabia   (09.21.12)
You should know many military experts have said... just the contrary. Who have the best studies depends on your opinion ;-))) But, we know many solutions exist to destroy facilities... i.e. US strategy. Direct hits to the facilities are a option if you have heavy airstrike forces... and Israel has not. Indirect strikes as refineries, electric grids, facilities etc... as US did since WW2. US did much more efficient in... bombing civil houses all around the facilities as scientists, workers are an indirect and efficient way to stop the production. You should study the US military doctrine... google is your friend ;-)))
23. N° 21
norman ,   france, Eurabia   (09.21.12)
Stop dreaming. Israel has no intention to use nukes against Iran. Israel has so many modern weapons to resolve the problem and to put Iran at the stone age ;-) Just wait and you'll see ;-)
24. EMP can't help israel, too bad
inconito   (09.21.12)
an EMP cannot cripple iran effort to obtain nukes. the faraday's cage system, is very effective again electromagnetique pulse......... an EMP from israel will juste garantee a EMP from iran on day or another ! however, it will be the first use of nukes since WW2 the world will not allow israel to break the nuclear tabu, get ready for an iraq-like international embargo. NO matter what israel do: iran is doomed to have deterrence unless the US fight against iran to the death
25. Israel has been thinking of this problem
zooog ,   USA   (09.21.12)
for a number of years. I'm sure that they have an innovative solution ready to go.
26. #13
Birdi ,   Israel   (09.21.12)
One does not need to have studied to know that Iran wants to wipe Israel off the map of the world. Continue living in denial & a happy new year to you too!
27. # 25 iran has been prepared for this " strike "
inconito   (09.21.12)
for a number of years. I'm sure that they are ready to defend themself
28. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

29. To: No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.21.12)
In 1947, all the "experts" predicted that the fledgling modern State of Israel would be crushed in a matter of hours. In 1967, all the "experts" predicted that Israel would fall under the combined onslaught of three Arab armies. In 1973, all the "experts" predicted that Israel would lose the Sinai and the Golan Heights. So much for experts. I have a very good idea of what Israel can do, and it doesn't begin to cover the things that I do not know about. You keep reading what the "experts" have to say, though, okay?
30. To: No. 18
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.22.12)
Failed? Really? Then why is Nazrallah living in a hole in the ground? I think everyone in Israel knows that eventually, we will have to clean out that rat's nest in Lebanon. Except this time, we might not care about collateral damage. We've taken Beirut before. We can take it again; any time we want. Perhaps you should start packing to go visit relatives overseas. Absent that, buy a gravesite. Israel isn't going to play carefully this time. We'll roll over you like you cannot imagine. Count on it.
