In november 1956, tNasser troops came to our house (OUR HOUSE; and not any other egiptian house) arrested my father and other men that were celebrating my birthday and held them incomunicado for 2 weeks. The only option the governement gave for his release and his friend release was: leave Egypt with 2 suitcases per family. No money, no jewelry, nothing of value. Our case is one in the hundreds of thousands of cases like that. The only difference MR Benassi, is that we did not go and cry to the world that we were thrown out of the country were we and our fathers were born. We did not went on living from donations from the UN. We redid our lives, became productive in other countries. we redid our lives..that is why, maybe you did not heard the world refugees from our side. Not because we did not loose everything we had, but because we decided to take charge of our lives.
