1. Abbas
ronnie ,   phila USA   (09.22.12)
His statements are so ridiculous. Sad,stupid leader who doesn't know how to negotiate
2. Apartheid state
David Melnick ,   Netanya   (09.22.12)
I thought we already are an apartheid state. That's what all the left wing boycott bunch say about us.
3. Apartheit state or Palestinian canton ?
Nora Tel Aviv   (09.22.12)
Time will tell. Palestinians living in areas stuck between Israel and the Jordanian kingdom, will find that those areas are not defensible enough for a viable independent state. Their future stands in uniting with Jordan (kingdom or not) or with I srael ( Semi-autonomy or canton).
4. Pals dont want Peace. They want a Victory by Wombfare
Alan ,   SA   (09.22.12)
5. PURE NONSENSE !!!
FO ,   Belgium   (09.23.12)
Till 1967 there was a JORDANIAN occupation of the "West Bank" and the old city of Jerusalem. Imposing Israeli law on the Judea and Samaria and the Golan Heights are conform with International Law as decided in 1922 by the League of Nations and reaffirmed by Article 80 of the Charter of the United Nations. Even UNSC Resolution 242 is based on the League's resolutions, called the "Mandate for Palestine". If any doubts about it, read articles by Prof. Eugene Rostow, author of Resolution 242. Israel an Apartheid state ? A joke. 20% of Israel's population is Arab and represented in the Israeli Knesset. Not one Jew, NOT ONE, lives in the illegal state called Jordan, artificially created by Britain, on 77% of the territory of the Jewish National Home, by breaching Article 5 of the League's resolutions. This is Apartheid, while the majority of Arabs living in the so-called "West-Bank" are Jordanian citizens. In an eventual future settlement, Jordan should not be allowed to escape its duties concerning these citizens, taking into consideration its occupation of 77% of Jewish property, property promised by a "Sacred Trust" of the League's Mandate System.
6. Hasn't Abbas resigned yet? Hasn't he dissolved the PA yet?
Miracle Dog ,   Israel   (09.23.12)
Because he's always "threatening" to do so. Go already, it will be the best thing for Israel since 1967, to be freed from the lame duck of Oslo. Never again.
7. Iran first
Matt   (09.23.12)
Look it depends what happens after an Iran strike. The Saudi plan as Meir Dagan said, where Iran is for destruction. You can't have regional peace (as seen with Turkey) if you have to kill half the Palestinians, kill Lebanese. If Camp David is struck down with Egypt and Jordan. Jordan may become Palestinian, Jordan is on the edge in a holding pattern of instability. Also there is the option of the West Bank become a state of its own, with both Palestinians and Settlers, but not part of Israel, the settlers will have dual citizenship. The PA state will no longer exist, start again, let the settlers who declare independence from Israel and the Palestinians and UN sort it out. But it has nothing to do with Israel as they will have disengaged from the WB as a state. Think Russia/Georgia.
8. TO NR. 3, NORA FROM TEL AVIV.
SJOERD VAN DER VELDE ,   HOORN NH, HOLLAND   (09.23.12)
IN THIS CASE YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, AT MY OPINION. IF THE PALESTINIAN/ARAB PEOPLE IN ISRAEL DONOT WANT TO LIVE WITH AN ISRAELIAN GOVERNMENT IN AN ISRAELIAN STATE, THEY CAN BETTER GO TO A STATE WITH ANOTHER PALESTINIAN/ARAB POPULATION, FOR EXAMPLE TO JORDAN (EX-EASTERN PALESTINE), WHERE JEWS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LIVE, SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE 1920"S OF THE PREVIOUS CENTURY. THAT CAN BE ARRANGED BY THE ENTIRE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION, IF THE GOOD WILL OF ALL THE INVOLVED PARTIES IS THERE. OTHERWISE IT COULD GO FROM BAD TO WORSE WITH ALL CONSEQUENCES UNFORTUNATELY. I WANT TO WISH WISDOM TO ALL PARTIES, TO SOLVE THAT ISSUE IN A PEACEFULL, HUMAN WAY.
9. Safe Sanctuary
zivron   (09.23.12)
The Jews Arabs and Internationals arre safer.,,under the Protection of the USA and Russian thermonuclear shields which arose out of the combined victory against Nazism.
10. Inadvertent admission....
Steven Gilbert ,   Teaneck   (09.23.12)
Israel "could" become an apartheid state, i.e. it is clearly not now an apartheid state. NGO's and leftists should digest that. The Palestinian narrative is a falsehood.
11. arab occupation.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (09.23.12)
Do not worry no apartheid state, no arab terrorist state, arabs repatriated to their arab states of origin where they will be happy. all Jewish sympathizers returned with the arabs to their lands of origin.
12. The evil Two State Final Solution is dead.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.23.12)
Jews are a growing majority in Israel, including Judea and Samaria. Countless American and Israeli studies have proven this. This land is ours. We are not scared of "Palestinian" B.S. Pay them to leave our land forever. The evil Two State Final Solution is dead.
13. How can anyone who demands a Judenrein Palestine
Tracy W   (09.23.12)
accuse Israel of Apartheid and expect to be taken seriously?
14. Other apartheid state???
Jusanz77 ,   Vzla   (09.23.12)
I fully understand the concerns of Abbas, there is already an apartheid state, is called Gaza. Which he helped build. I guess to finish his work with other state in Judea-Samaria apartheid would be but another of the immense capacity to practice racism of Abbas and his followers.
15. Israel is ONE state, "pals" are disorganized Jew-haters that
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (09.23.12)
will never come honestly to the bargaining table and create a state of their own.
16. Israel has been sitting at the table for years, ready to...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (09.23.12)
...negotiate peace with the Arabs of the territories. The ones who refuse to approach the table are the leaders of these very Arabs. One only wonders, why...??
17. Most every arabic state practice apartheid
Beary White ,   Norway   (09.23.12)
Abbas is talking bullshit
18. Not everyone should have a state
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.23.12)
Face it -- not all groups are cut out for nationhood. The ersatz "Palestinians" are a poster child for why not everyone can or should have a state. They are a fragmented and fractious bunch that is prone to violence and terrorism. They have proven they cannot even manage their own finances, despite billions of dollars and billions of euros pouring into the coffers of the ersatz "Palestine" Authority every year. They are always whining and holding out their beggar's bowl, looking for more. Where has all the money gone? Certainly not into infrastructure. Certainly not into bolstering the economy. Certainly not into creating jobs. Certainly not into attracting venture capital investment. An independent ersatz "Palestinian" state would be a perpetual millstone around the neck of the world. They simply are not cut out for independence.
19. Roman Empire always wanted to improve us.
Miron ,   USA   (09.23.12)
We denied their "hallowness" 2000 years ago... and they still can't quite do with it, still. Funny thing, when their leader is slain they kind of run around... kill a bunch of people in anger... and go back inside their den to come out with something even scarier than what we saw last time. It would be interesting to trace the link between Tunguss meteorite, nuclear tests, and the progression of WW I and WW II. They won't start major kerfuffle without having a hand close to a weapon principally more capable, something that can neutralize nuclear bombs. And it's not about rocket defence. That's just a stepping stone. Look, they can't even do in Syria. My heart goes out to Abbas and his people. If Israel feels the heat, can you imagine how they are being dealt with? I had this naive idea that press was really reporting something. But after the last 4 years here in US it is fairly obvious how naive I was. Ann Romney had a mojor accident on her plane yesterday. Not one US press organ mentioned it. And they want me to believe in what they write about how Americans plan to vote like?
20. 5.9M Jews, 8.9M Palestinians, in Israel, West Bank, Gaza
Steven Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (09.23.12)
...and outside Palestinian refugees from 1948, '49, and their descendants...three million.
21. This Putz Does Not Know What the Word Means
Dan ,   Florida - Tel Aviv   (09.23.12)
22. Israel not one of the 23 M/E Islamic Apartheid states.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (09.23.12)
The racist Islamic fictitious regimes created 100 years ago bar Jews from lands in Arabia. Jews predate both Islam and the Arab race and cannot call Jews as apartheid. The UN & EU committed great post-war crimes in focusing only on Muslim Arab refugees and falsely alleged charges of land occupation.
23. Abbas the hypocrite should make his offer
Avramele   (09.23.12)
At both camp David and later through Olmert reasonable compromises were on the table. Abbas should put up his counter offer and force serious negotiations or admit that he is no more interested in a solution than Bibi.
24. Apartheid means a minority ruling over a majority
Tom ,   USA   (09.23.12)
Jews are the majority in Israel. Apartheid is when a minority like the Hahemites in Jordan force rule on a majority of Palestinians in that country. Jordan would qualify as an apartheid state. The Palestinians would have to be ruling over Israel for it to be an apartheid State. Arabs love reversing definitions.
25. Apartheid
Adam H ,   USA   (09.23.12)
I agree with #2. The Arabs have said there is apartheid, so now Abbas is admitting there's no apartheid.
26. As Long as The Pals Pay Taxes, it works for me!
Baruch ,   Israel/Houston   (09.23.12)
I'm tierd of the whining, the corruption, sitting on their hands, teaching thier children hate, and throwing bombs. If we have to take them to raise, lets get on with it! Face it somebody has to do it, the Presbyterians certainly will not!
27. Abbas Is No partner For Peace
Ross Gallen ,   Henderson, USA   (09.23.12)
The Arabs had their chance for statehood in 1948. They chose war. Thry lost in 1948, 1956, 1973, 1982 and finally in Operation Cast Lead. Abbas lives in a fictional reality, enjoying the charity of the US and the Europeans. There never was a palestinian state. These people are just Syrian Arabs who transplanted themselves for economic gain. Newt Gingrich was correct, these are an "invented people" and it time for them to go home to Syria.
28. Palestinian propaganda for naive suckers
Sam ,   Canada   (09.23.12)
It's impossible to break the deadlock because Palestinians refuse to accept a Jewish majority Israel. Palestinians try to do a snow job on impressionable people in the West by throwing out key words like "apartheid" or "occupation". Grow up everybody and stop being suckers for Palestinian BS.
29. Palestinians want Status Quo
Avi ,   USA   (09.23.12)
If they ever had a state of their own these welfare recipients would actually have to manage a real state. Stop the Pal train at the UN
30. one-word vocabulary
shloime ,   toronto, canada   (09.23.12)
the plo have found a word with which to bludgeon israel, and now they will overuse it until it loses all meaning.
