calabi ,   Sydney   (09.24.12)
Israel must, must be prepared for the worst!!! Egypt is behaving like the ISI of Pakistan. May God fight for Israel and give her favor to victory!!!!!
2. Chopping hands, heads lol
john ,   uk   (09.24.12)
I mean this people need to stop their nonsense, the world will only take so much from these radicals before in unity they say enough is enough. I mean until the uprising they could blame things on israel, now we say them slaughtering each other, and with any small excuse start these stupid protests, in other words now we see true colors. egypt should be careful what they wish for, israel will destroy them in 15 seconds
3. what they mean
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (09.24.12)
Egypt demand sovereignty over Sinai, but is incapable of imposing sovereignty, so Israel is attacked. Egypt then threaten, that if Israel defends herself they will attack. Funnily enough, the above paragraph is wrong and the Egyptians aren't that stupid or hypocritical. They do know they will soon run out of cash, oil and food. To avoid a unrest, social disintegration and anarchy, they need a war with Israel to vent frustration and to cull their population. War is inevitable, and what they need is an excuse. If I was Egyptian, I would attack when the IAF was occupied elsewhere to give my troops the chance to cross Sinai.
4. 'will cut off the arm of any foreign
john ,   uk   (09.24.12)
what lovely militry words from Member of Egypt's Higher Military Council
5. Responsibility over Sinai
Robert ,   Israel   (09.24.12)
Israel should hold Egypt's government responsible for any attack that comes from their side of the border, the same thing that happens with Hamas, over Gaza
6. Bibi will do a secret deal with Egypt
Zionist forever   (09.24.12)
If there is need for military action in Sinai Bibi will lobby Congress to support it and they will tell Morrisi to keep this as a war of words and Israel will carry out surgical strikes rather than large numbers of tanks. Possibly missile firing UAVS patrling the sky's over Sinai 24/7 the Egyptians will of course try keep it from the general public to avoid political problems,. If there is a need for ground forces Israel will keep it as small and quick an operation as possible with the Egyptian army ordered not to intervene. Instead Morrisi will go to the UN General Assenbly get a resolotion so for the Egyptian public without risking a full scale war over illegal immigrants and smuggling. The politicians need to do secret deals and everything else is for the eyes if the media.
7. SECURE BIG ISRAEL, Sinai back, nonviolent transfer, BALANCE.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (09.24.12)
8. "Cut off the arm"
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.24.12)
Ya gotta love the rhetoric. Now .... who here can spell "Aswan Dam?" How about "Suez Canal?" It would take Israel all of a few seconds to send Egypt back into the Stone Age. Which is precisely where they belong. They never learn, do they?
9. We should speak the same @ Israel
Jay Abouaf ,   Jaffa, Israel   (09.24.12)
Oh, that all of Israel felt and spoke the same about the Land of Israel !!! Our brutal neighbors would then behave properly toward us and such behaviour would lead to Peace. Giving away our land leads to war and is criminal.
10. @8
sipahi ,   Istanbul   (09.24.12)
They learn very well, they know that they managed to get back Sinai in 1973, they know that they can launch a massive assault on Israel, and if the US does not intervene like in Yom Kippur War (see Operation Nickel Grass) they can inflict huge casualties in IDF and invade parts of Israel. No to mention 2006. Go on living in your sci-fi dreams, like fault-line triggering attacks, electromagnetic wave attacks, etc. etc.
11. #8 Sarah B , U.S.A. / Israel
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (09.24.12)
Thou canst not kill that which doth not live. And you cannot send the Egyptians back into the Stone Age. They are already living in it.
12. Joke
marcelo tuchman ,   RIO,BRAZIL   (09.24.12)
What Egypt wants to say with that? That will confront Israel and break the Peace Ttreaty? They are crazy??????? Poor egypt,if this happen, and a conflict emerge, evolving Israel against egypt, if Israel win in 67 in six days, today ,will win in six hours, and will take Sinai back.
13. #8 Sipahi, evladim
Bergkamp   (09.24.12)
The arabs of Egypt got back the Sinai in 1.979, six years after the end of the Yom Kippur war in which the IDF operated for the first time in Africa because the Israeli divisions stopped at the km101 of the highway to Cairo. It is you who lives in a world of muhammadan self deception. Even the turks are no longer "evladi fetih" but a bunch of self delusional muhammadan zombies.

16. How many times must Egypt lose a war
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (09.24.12)
before they're convinced that the can never win Mitla & Gid ipasses were loaded with abandoned Egyptian equipment, which Israel put to good use
17. Egypt can barely feed itself. And they're going to make war?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (09.24.12)
How telling that the threat from Egypt now comes in Islamist flavor - they are the folks who after all are so ready to cut off the hands of thieves. (Still done in Saudi Arabia.) But despite its substantial improvements in armaments (mostly American) since 1973, Egypt would suffer serious damage in a major confrontation with Israel. As it is, they're down to about two months of foreign reserves, needed to import food. Those begging financial support from Gulf States, the IMF, and the US should be more reserved before threatening war.
18. #10 You are having problems yourself
nudnik   (09.24.12)
Not a chance Egypt will ever get to invade. Little Mushroom clouds all over Egypt like pox. You really are a fool.
19. six days war again? I dont think so no 15
LION OF JUDAH   (09.24.12)
The Arabs always been and always will be much bigger in everything, but we always win. In 1948 newly born country with very limited army fought against 6 well equipped army in fighter jets, tanks, people, and so on and the Jews won. Mr tsar, you have to learn that Jews & IDF are best quality and the Arabs are useless quantities, and secondly our REAL G D IN HEAVEN is with his Nation the ISRAELITES
20. if egypt starts a war
moshon   (09.24.12)
If egypt starts a war which may be mursi's thinking since many so called palestinians are originally egyptian and sudanese, israel will smash its way to victory and any land gained like the sinai will be annexed and become part of israel forever. So think twice before you start anything.
21. I am no Dove but...
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (09.24.12)
Attacking or attempting military operations in the Sinai without Egyptian consent is foolish. It would be a breach of the peace with Egypt. A peace we as a nation need. What we can do is offer Egypt help in patrolling the Sinai; request UN forces at the border; and harden targets on our side of the border. To unilaterally breach the peace with Egypt would set us back 30 years or more. Are we prepared for a combination of an asymmetrical war with terrorists and a war with Egypt where Egypt would have a legitimate claim that WE were the aggressor?
22. Egypt Threat
Surprised ,   Etobicoke, Ontario   (09.24.12)
How about radioactive water originating where the Aswan dam used to be?
23. irrationals
michel ,   Ashkelon   (09.24.12)
This statements proves once more that these people are completey irrationals ans full of hate. The current Obama administration gives them the freedom and courage to treath the peace with Israel. A normal President would remind them their obligations 9and dependence). They never were full parteners for peace .THE TREATY FOR THEM AND ALL MUSLIMS WAS ONLY A TACTIC TO GAIN TIME AND GET STRONGER.THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE.
24. at 3.
Gabriel ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (09.24.12)
Yes, and all the books on state law I read in college agreed that when a state cannot control the territory in which it is suppose to be sovereign, the term 'failed state' applies. Morsi should be proud of this particular achievement. He frankly doesn't give a fig wether or not the Sinaï is a hotbed of terrorism, as long as said terrorists direct their attentions to Israeli troops patrolling the border and not his own people. Too bad, because the Sinaï could do with a rather thorough sweeping. So could Gaza, by the way. You guys have such nice neighbours....
25. #15, #17
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (09.24.12)
#17 answer this: You have no food no fuel no money. Do you slowly starve to death? Or do you use all the fancy weapons #17 talks about to go down in a blaze of glory? #15 Trust me, you will kill many of our soldiers with your fancy weapons, but we will win and I am sad to say that many of your 1.5 million will never get back home. Our problem is the home front. Our soldiers will have a hard time fighting and may lose when they hear how their parents, their wives and their babies are attacked by Hamas, Hezbolla and Fatah forces using weapons Israel gave them. This is the reason that Israeli leaders like Sharon, Olmert. Livni, Peres and Barak are considered criminally insane.
26. its not about quantity is about quality!
Joseph ,   New York   (09.24.12)
its all about quality and Israel has the best to offer interms of quality!
27. 67 BORDERS
ALAN ,   USA   (09.24.12)
DIDN'T I HEAR THAT OBAMA WANTED A RETURN TO THE '67 BORDERS, I AGREED, ALL SINAI BACK TO ISRAEL WITH OUT A SHOT FIRED THIS TIME. CORRECT ME, DIDN'T ISRAEL DROP SANDBAGS ON EITHER NASSER OR SADAT'S HOUSE IN CAIRO?
28. They may not have food but they have guns...
Thomas the Doubter ,   USA   (09.24.12)
Egypt may very well, and probably would, suffer massive destruction in a war with Israel, but then again Israel might suffer a lot of damage as well. Fact is that the Muslim Brotherhood govt is never going to find jobs for all those unemployed kids who made the revolution. They may have better use for their youth in the Sinai and the Negev, at least in their own minds. In any case wars are incredibly unpredictable and one never knows what the end result will be. As to #16 it is the fact that yes, while the Arabs do keep losing they still keep coming back that should worry you. One day the balance of forces may be different...
29. thank you Egypt
EZ   (09.24.12)
Your inability (or lack of desire) to control terrorism against Israel from Sinai and your statements about "changing the treaty" are doing more damage Palestinians' bid for statehood than anyone since Arafat was alive.
30. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.24.12)
You seem to have forgotten that Israel cut the supply lines of the entire Egyptian Third Army and crossed the Suez Canal, with nothing standing between the IDF and Cairo. As to 2006, Israel paid far too much attention to collateral damage. Next time, the Lebanese won't be as lucky. No one will. Perhaps you -- and your nasty country's leadership -- should tone down your rhetoric. Turkey is a seismic accident waiting to happen .... and Israel can make it happen. That's not "science fiction," by the way. It is cold, hard fact. But I acknowledge that you might be too primitive or too poorly educated to realize just what Israel is capable of doing.
