More evidence that the US will never attack Iran.

There are creative ways to keep the prgram from developing after a hit.....and yes there is nothing easy about it since HE delayed the hit for too many years...if he had his way the Syrians would have a nuke program and be threatening her neighbors when he was Bush's guy. The Americans had their own vital interests in mind when Roosevelt was asked to bomb the railways leading to Auschwitz. We know how that worked out for the Jews and others. Just look around the conflict zones of the world and you will see hundreds of thousands of lives lost because the Americans could not help them because they were busy protecting their own vital interests. America will let Israel go down in return for it's economic interests. Israel is on its own when it comes to protecting herself.

Who cares what Gates thinks. It's obvious that the Americans and Israelis have different interests. Israel needs to do what's best for her. Also, how are sanctions any different on future deterrents. Once we physically destroy Iran's nuclear facilities, which is totally doable, we can then continue to apply sanctions re: any future Iranian nuclear intentions.

Bill Gates is ignorant of Israel's capabilities and Iran's weaknesses. Iran's weapons aspirations can be done away with either using conventional or unconventional means. dear mr gates, a nuclear-armed enemy presents an existential threat to the state of israel. in a country that is no bigger than the king ranch in texas, 10 miles wide just outside tel aviv, there is no such thing as a survivable nuclear war. this is not "anxiety", but survival. and if that survival harms "american vital interests", tough luck. maybe it's time for you to rethink america's insane policy of appeasing the very same people who cheered when the world trade center fell.

I believe you are being naive. I think you should do some more homework on this issue. I think you should think more before you speak. Edithann, which rock do you live under? There is enormous evidence that Iranian-armed surrogates have killed hundreds of American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Today's Iran is attacking many countries and killing thousands.

According to Gates, it is best to do nothing to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and using them to destroy Israel, because if Iran is attacked, they might become angry and attack Israel with their nuclear weapons. Brilliant policy, unless you care if Israel survives, which Gates, and those who think like him, obviously do not.

I am afraid that Israel is starting to believe it's own propaganda. Look while a nuclear Iran may be a threat to Israel, Israel has a set of nukes of it's own...so that's quite a powerful deterrence. What this war is about most of all is Israeli desire to stay the only nuclear power in the region. Now even some Israeli anylists have concluded that at best the Iranian program can be delayed. But it will make Iran an even more inplacable enemy and no one knows what consequenses that will have. You may hate Gates and despise Obama but you'd do well to head their advice.
