while you can. There is no point being in a place that is dangerous for you. France shipped 75K Jews to Auschwitz. They have a long history of anti-semitism. Get out and live your lives in peace.

are targeted for death simply because they are Jews.
4. What are the odds ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.06.12)
.... that any of those arrested are something other than Moslem? It may well be that not all Moslems are terrorists. But all terrorists sure do seem to be Moslem.
5. Who is guilty?
Claudedeparis ,   France   (10.06.12)
The problem is that French politicians cannot (or don't want to) say that some Muslims are targeting Jews. That is not politically correct and they don't want to worry the 5 or 6 millions of Muslims. The danger is on the side of the Muslims and not on the side of the far right wing.

"Get out and live your lives in peace." And what country could that be, where one can live in peace? Israel?
8. #4 Sarah, are you sure?
Albrecht   (10.06.12)
"It may well be that not all Moslems are terrorists. But all terrorists sure do seem to be Moslem." Are you sure that Brevik and Mundlos were Muslim?
9. To some comments
Alexandre ,   France   (10.06.12)
I am a supporter of Israel which is the only democracy in the region and I consider we should never forget the sufferings of the Jews during WWII. However people, could you please stop always making a reference to Vichy France, Dreyfus and the deportations (that were fewer than in other occupied countries even if it remain too much) each time something happens in France ? It's getting more and more boring and it completely discredits your statements and ideas. We're talking about present and these antisemitic deeds from Islamic scums do not happen only in France.

Where do you live guy? Paris 16?? I do not recognize France anymore and in my surbub I'm obliged to hide my jewish identity ! Aliyah is close to french Jewish.
11. Muslim Terrorism
Henry ,   Cavite, Philippines   (10.07.12)
It is not poverty that turns these people into radicalism, rather, it is religious fanaticism. It is a case of a wrong messenger who delivered a rotten book to which they have bound their very lives....unfortunately. A great disaster in the form of "natural" and man-made catastrophes is awaiting these people in the very, very near future.

Do you appreciate the difference between a terrorist and a mass murderer (Brevik) and a serial killer (Mundlos)?

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.07.12)
They sure do seem to happen a great deal in France, though, don't they? I appreciate the effort made by the French officials to find and bring those responsible for the murder of Jews and for attacks upon Jewish property to justice, but why does it always seem to be too little, too late? You know there is a large and unpleasant Arab and Moslem community in France; you know they have come together in terrorist cells and have attacked Jews, Jewish-owned businesses and Jewish institutions, and have killed several. But why must it take deaths of innocent Jews (and even two innocent French Moslems of Algerian heritage) before the French manage to do anything about what is an obvious threat? As to references to Dreyfus and to the Vichy French -- was not Dreyfus railroaded? Was he not convicted of a crime he did not commit? By the time the French government admitted its mistake, Dreyfus was a broken, old man. The Vichy French acted to deport Jews and encouraged French citizens not to hide Jews. Those are facts, Alexandre. They may not be pleasant facts, but they are facts nonetheless. Why do the French have such trouble coming to terms with their history with respect to the Jews?

Some comments you see here are from people who are ignorant or looking only at one side of the coin . They forget that 75 % of French Jews survived the war , that most of the antisemitic acts are comitted by muslims , that France armed the Haganah , let the "illegal" ships leave their ports , furnished all kind of weapons to Israel , not to talk about Dimona . Preventing those acts is a very difficult thing , the last ring was a very closed one , were well organised , did often change the places where they met . It's of course very easy to ask "why" not detected before , stupid question . Police can't penetrate all those rings .
16. to 13 TRY # 2
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.07.12)
Dreyfus , the "old broken man" as you wrote , served in WWI , on the front , commanding artellery units . Again one of your favorite "activity" , to tell untrue things . That the vichy regime deported , even before the nazis asked for it , Jews is true . But you forget that 75 % of French Jews survived the war , in hiding in the whole country . Hidden by all kind of people , religious or not . Those are FACTS too , the better side . France has come to terms with their History . Giscard admitted it , Hollande repeated it . And if you go back farther , it was in France that the Jews received , the first country in Europe to do it , full civil rights . PS . Whatr's about your lie "the Estelle has not holds" ?
17. #12, One question to Sara
Albrecht   (10.07.12)
Thank you for your explanation. Now I know, that Brevik and Mundlos were NOT terrorists. Unfortunately the most people in Norway and Germany do not realize that and call them "terrorists". When would they become "terrorists"? If they would kill Jews instead of leftists and Muslim? Or perhabs if they would be Muslim? Or both? Thank you in advance for your answer.
18. Charles I know very well the French and what they
Al   (10.07.12)
are all about. I Live in Quebec and I know all too well what they are all about. As to your France, yes they allowed leaky boats to leave France in 1946 to Israel only to tell the British about them so they will be arrested and taken by the British to Cyprus. My own dad who survived Auschwitz was taken on one of those boats He spend a year in Cyprus before he came to Israel. Your beloved FRANCE is full of it. Take that Baguette out of your head and realize it. The days of Jews in FRANCE is coming to an end. There is simply no future there for them. As to why I am in Quebec, well its simple I am not well. I have a frequent flyer card at the Jewish General Hospital. My sons though are in Israel, where they are free Jews. They also happen to be very religious with beards payos and Tzzisus hanging out, but try to piss them off and they'll turn their Israeli tanks on ya.

Was Charlie Starkweather a terrorist? Or just a spree killer? If you start applying the word "terrorist" to every case of murder -- no matter how horrific -- you cheapen the word "terrorist," and you reduce its meaning. Terrorists are part of organizations, with leadership and a charter and stated goals. Brigata Rossi in Italy was a terrorist organization. So was Baader-Meinhoff. So are Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, PFLP and a laundry list besides. I guess most people in Norway and Germany are indeed uninformed. Or stupid. Or engaged in another Quisling-Nazi entente. Because the first one went oh-so-well, right? Leave it go, Albrecht. If you do not know the difference between terrorists and ordinary murderers, then you need to go back to school. Next you'll be telling me that terrorists are freedom fighters .... that argument has been made and disproved, so don't even bother.

What about the 25% of French Jews who did NOT survive the war. Don't they matter? And you are clearly unaware of Charles DeGaulle unilaterally abrogating contracts of sale with Israel for yellowcake. Refused to return the money, too. Israel actually had to retrieve the yellowcake on its own -- midnight dash down the Mediterranean and all. Had you forgotten that? But the most important question is my first one -- what about the 25% of French Jews who did not survive? What about the Jews in Morocco and Algeria who were rounded up and handed over to the Nazis? Don't they matter, either?

1. You should read Dreyfus' memoirs. He described himself as an "old, broken man" upon his release from prison. He actually retired from the army because of poor health only a year after he returned from Devil's Island. He did re-enter the army as a reserve officer during World War I, spending 90% of his time behind the lines and behind a desk. He had two stints as an officer of the line -- on the Chemin des Dames and at Verdun. But -- don't get all excited. His service at Verdun was in 1918 (not the famous battle of Verdun, which was in 1916) and his service in the Third Battle of the Aisne (also in 1918) should not be confused with the First Battle of the Aisne or, as it is more popularly called, the First Battle of the Marne, fought in 1914. 2. Seventy-five percent of French Jews survived the war. PLEASE DO NOT FORGET THAT TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT OF FRENCH JEWS DID NOT SURVIVE THE WAR. Or don't they matter to you, Charles? 3. Did you happen to see the photographs of the vessel ESTELLE that sailed from Naples, headed toward Gaza? Honey, I realize you don't know a damned thing about shipping or about vessels -- particularly cargo carriers -- but the vessel in that photograph is riding very high in the water. A vessel supposedly carrying cargo would be much lower in the water. A vessel with holds that are empty would need to ballast those holds with seawater -- thereby also causing her to ride low in the water. But the vessel in those photographs has no holds. 4. Stick to that which you know, Charles -- I realize that isn't much, but -- oh well. Perhaps you can enroll in Catholic school. Never too late to acquire an education, right?

Jews in Morocco and Algeria were , mostly , NOT handed over to the nazis , if there were any at all . . They were persecuted by the vichy regime in those countries . But not many were send to the concentration camps . A quantity of Jews was murdered in those countries , yes that's true , but this you don't know . You don't know the camp des milles either , not a wonder for an ignorant one . A French camp in vichy controlled region from where some 2 thousand Jews were send to drancy [ you know ? ] or directly to germany . Now you agree that 25 % of the Jews of France were murdered , some time ago it were 75 % . I don't forget anything , and don't tell lies as you always do . So i know both sides , i tell them . Every Jew who perished during the Shoa was one victim that was TO MUCH . Regarding de Gaulle , it was his "folie des grandeur" , this little Israel had dared not to follow his "advice" . He did'nt see that blocking the strait of Tyran was a casus belli , only saw that Israelis fired the first shots . The 75 of surviving Jews apparently don't matter to you , for me it's important to acknowledge this too . And what about your lies about the Estelle ?

Charles, what I have already forgotten about the history of World War II, you have yet to learn. Same with the history of World War I. With respect to World War I -- well, my post at No. 21 straightened you out about Dreyfus. With respect to World War II -- you are clearly ignorant about the fate of Jews in the Maghreb. (Not surprising, because you are ignorant of so much.) But you may wish to educate yourself here: http://www1.yadvashem.org/yv/en/education/newsletter/25/algeria_marocco.asp I trust you agree that Yad Vashem operates a legitimate website, unlike the crazy, unheard of places where you acquire your so-called "facts." Do not confine yourself to counting the number of French Jews that were killed in the extermination camps? How many Jews died of disease and starvation at Drancy, Charles? Why don't you look it up? And who do you blame for their deaths, if not the Vichy French? I addressed your silly prattling with respect to the ESTELLE in my post at No. 21. Read it and weep and then -- for heaven's sake -- give it a rest. How much humiliation can you stand, an old man like you?
24. #19 Sara, Your Definition doesn't work
Albrecht   (10.07.12)
"Terrorists are part of organizations, with leadership and a charter and stated goals." Why then Mundlos wasn't a terrorist? He was a part of the organisation NSU (Nationalsozialistischer Untegrund) with about 20 people and bright connections to and support from NPD. According to your definition Breivik wasn't terrorist because he actet alone. But then, the killer from Touluse and many Killers inspired by Al Qaida are also NOT terrorists. They act (kill) from principle alone not as part of an organisation. I'm afraid, your definition doesn't work.
25. To: No. 24
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.07.12)
Wrong. 1. NSU has 20 members? Do they have a charter? Have they published a treatise? No, they're going after individual Turks -- shades of the 1970s! 2. By definition, terrorists do not act alone. Murderers do. 3. There was a great deal of evidence to suggest that the killer in Toulouse was not merely inspired by Al Qaeda, but was a member. 4. I'm afraid your counter is completely inapposite. Or, as they say in the southern part of the United States -- "That dog don't hunt."

What about the ESTELLE, Chuckles? Didn't you assert that the ESTELLE is a cargo carrier with two holds? It's a motorized yacht, stupid. Rigged and masted for sailing. I ASSURE you that it has no holds. It has portholes. Cargo carriers do not have portholes, because cargo doesn't need a view, and ESPECIALLY since cargo holds are well below the water line. So, Chuckie -- how about YOUR lies about the ESTELLE? Hmm? Didn't you assert that she carried a cargo of cement on one of her humanitarian voyages? Not a cargo. Maybe one five-pound bag, but that's about it. I await your gracious apology -- which I know will not be forthcoming. You're not man enough, and you are CERTAINLY not a gentleman.

1 ] Dreyfas was rehabilitated , reentered service , aged around sixty . Not to bad for an "old broken man" I'll have to check what you wrote , will never believe a big liar as you are 2] Yes 75 % survived , thanks to the vast quantity of French people , priests included [ not one against payment as you wrote ] . As i wrote , every Jew who perished was one to much . 3 ] Look at the Estelle in the video , when she leaves the quay . Loaded ! Regarding ships i have probably seen more as you do . I also worked on board of some . But this ship HAS holds , the contrary of what you told us . You probably don't know anything about ships . 4] stick on what you can do , telling lies . Remember the Sbarro , sadly also a big lie .
28. 23 , from your link
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.07.12)
The Jews of Algeria and Morocco were spared the fate of their brethren in Europe because the tide of the war turned against the forces of General Rommel at the battle of El Alamein; beginning in November 1942 the Allies began to liberate North Africa. Tunisia was the only country among the three that the German army actually occupied. The army entered Tunisia together with a SS unit tasked with applying anti-Jewish policy. The Jews of Tunisia were saved only because in early May 1943, military developments forced the Germans to retreat.

Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.07.12)
Who has frequent visits to an hospital . Psychiatry i suppose . And what should we await from a yored ? Your sons , religious ? so what ? A bad genealogy does not empeach them to serve in the IDF . Tell the british about those boats ? What else can you invent ? And the arms ? Dimona ? France is NOT mine , never lived there , only for holydays . But i know history , i try to see both sides , not as you , and others do . You have an excuse , frequent visits to a , very needed , psy . Quebec is not France .

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.07.12)
Go back to school and learn to read. Did you miss the part where the Jews of Algeria instantly lost their French citizenship? Did you miss the part where the Jews of Morocco, a French colony, were subject to the rigorous anti-Semitism as Jews living under the Vichy in France? Did you miss the part where Jews in Tunisia -- also a French colony -- were persecuted, despite the sympathy of local leaders (not so much because they loved the Jewish people, but rather because they hated the French). In fact, following the war, the Jews were cruelly persecuted by the Tunisians. Although Libya was not a French colony, the Jewish community in Libya, as small as it was, suffered and several hundred died of starvation and disease. For you to have asserted that the Jews of North Africa did not suffer is one of the most misinformed statements you have ever made -- and you have made MANY. Would you like to talk about the ESTELLE?
