milson   (10.07.12)
settlers defend their land against potential terror operatives dressed as arabs but sent undercover by barak to entrap settlers. barak has nothing better to do. Settlers should of course defend themselves rather than run around like jewish beggars of the US, UN and everyone else. barak is disgusting and bibi is not far behind with his bs.
2. Good news!

Just FYI - The undercover agents are identified as police. Barak is not in charge of the police.

I do share your concern regarding potential terror operatives. It is definetly difficult for you and other Jewish settlers to discern who is the enemy. Our heart goes out to you and yours. Perhaps some Settlers are over-zealous in their protection? Take care and be safe. Shalom.
10. Very strange. Why are undercover police investigating Jews ?

11. Why did officers not identitfy themselves right away ?

babawawa ,   new york, usa   (10.08.12)
In my country, they call it entrapment. The police, according to this story, dress like Arabs who approach the farm to incite the Jews living there. When they are ASKED to leave, they won't. It that normal? The Jews feel threatened and take matters into their own hands and oh no, these are cops. Too bad the Jews weren't armed and shot the bastards. So the police had to go to the extreme and come to the Jews to get a response, when the Arabs are always complaining that the Jews comes to them and beat them up. This ain't democracy folks.
13. it is WRONG 2 attack an officer in DUTY, abide by the LAW.
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. /Israel   (10.08.12)
the suspect alerted his friends. The friends, who were masked and equipped with clubs, proceeded to attack the police officers.
14. #1 Settlers attacked cops posing as Palestinian shepherds
Elsie. ,   Gush Haalav   (10.08.12)
#1 Milson, try to understand this, the settlers attack first, it was the "shepherds " who needed protection,it does'nt matter who 'land' It is,you don't have the right to go around attacking anyone.
15. Deport them back to their country of origin
Josh   (10.08.12)
If they are indigenous Israelis then they should be prosecuted as common criminals.
16. Why is this news?
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (10.08.12)
The police used standard legal police techniques, practiced all over the civilized world, to remove violent criminals from society. Oh I get it - Jewish violent criminals are not supposed to be removed from society (at least #10 & 12 don't think so).
17. Poice investigating settlers
Michael ,   Tel Aviv   (10.08.12)
The police are obliged to investigate those settlers that are breaking the law. The law of the country is for everyone - not just the bits of it that suit us. Otherwise there will be anarchy. We claim to be the only truly democratic country in the middle east and we should act like it.
18. Ashamed as a Jew
Rachelle ,   Irael, Tel Aviv   (10.08.12)
As a Jewish woman I am ashamed at the the way these rough necks have behaved toward people they assumed were Arabs. It just bring to light the darkness that is disturbing any chance of peace, and shows the nature of the beast! How sad when ancient religious text of any religion are mistakenly understood as the right to violate another human being.

Congratulations! You've been taken in by a troll. Well, at least you have achieved my every expectation of your intellectual abilities. Can you understand that, or is it too difficult for you to process?
23. Read the article closely
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.08.12)
"According to the police, one of the suspects walked over to the undercover officers and told them they must leave the property immediately." He made a reasonable request. Farms are private property. The "shepherds" were thus trespassing on private property and were asked politiely to leave. Arab "shepherds" and their goats are why most of the Middle East is desert -- goats close-crop vegetation. Obviously, the farm owners did not want goats to destroy their hard work. Why didn't the "shepherds" leave the private property when asked to do so? Entrapment, pure and simple.
24. They might of suspected the 'Arabs' police
Rod ,   Fargo N.Dakota   (10.08.12)
of being on Recon mission for terrorists.Or of actually being terrorists.
25. If such settlers act like Palestinian rioters
Choen,Israel   (10.08.12)
then they should expect the police to act against them in the same manner. Case closed..!
26. To: No. 16
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.08.12)
The "shepherds" were asked politely to leave the farm, which was private property. The "shepherds" were thus illegal trespassers. The Jewish settlers acted well within their purview. If someone trespasses on your property, do you invite them in for tea and crumpets? I didn't think so. By the way -- do you know what "entrapment" means?
27. #23 Sarah B Excellent response, thank you

observer ,   Egypt   (10.08.12)
even the legal aid of the settlers didn't identify them as owner of property, but he did called them (Jewish) residents of the West Bank. He could not lie to the court. Why the owners of the property had to wear masks on their faces to defend their own"property"? no mention in the article whether the land of the settlement is PRIVATE Palestinian property or not.
