The EU 'elite had their party, gave their speeches of how much they deserved it, but the people of that same EU is lol! Nothing but problems came from this self complimenting EU.

No members of the EU (and its predecessors) have fought a war against each other. That's a fact. The EU is *the* answer to a very long history of wars between many European countries. Why should this great success be questioned, just because the EU has all sorts of other problems? Yes, the EU is not perfect. So what? What has all this got to do with the question of war and peace? Btw, what have these problems got to do with the EU anyway? Many European nations go the easy way and make the EU responsible for their own mistakes. Countries in the EU have got large debts etc, but so has the US or Japan. This is an economic problem of many Western countries and not a EU-made one. WWII is only 60+ years ago, but already seems to be forgotten by many people.

No bell and bats in the belfry. People are always getting it for what they haven't done. Reminds me of some prophets that make predictions that never came true. Spinning round and round, we don't change the stupidity of it all.

Corrupt and costly institution are usually slow to change. democratic institutions are faster to change.

The Nobel Prize to the E.U. : Europeans giving prizes to fellow Europeans for apeasing terrorists and tyrants. That is what Europeans do best. It's like awarding the wind a Nobel Prize for blowing.

It was European Community (EU predecessor) that followed the lead of Germany, and signed the death warrant for the breakup of Yugoslavia. Germany vigorously backed Slovenian and Croatian independence and lobbied intensely for the breakup of Yugoslavia. The rest of the EC supported it, and out of this came the bloodiest conflicts on the continent of Europe since WW2. Moreover, the EU predecessor was formed only in 1957. It did not bring peace to Europe. The Allied victory in 1945 brought peace, and the US and its Western European NATO Allies maintained it during the Cold War, assuring the ultimate victory of the West over the Soviet bloc and Communism. The EU did not achieve these victories. It is merely piggybacking on the success of other organizations and alliances.

The EU does not have to prove anything. Its achievements during the past 50 years are phenomenal. Europe is the only area of peace, stability, prosperity and social justice on the planet. The EU is a model for all the other regions of the world, including North America where the impact of the NAFTA was a disaster. The best way the EU can benefit from this Nobel prize is in building a real federal state. This will happen.

Possibly you are unaware wars are going on. But of course it will happen. They have been teamed with some of the most subversive forces that bring nations to their knees so they can be "saved". The US model of decay is their playbook. It genius and unstoppable with the nature of current humankind, but by no means is it "all good" and wars and death have blood right on the welcome mat of that big shinny door that is United Nations.

The first steps for Europe's integration were taken in London in 1944 to form later the Benelux . The EU , and her predecessors made the reconciliation between the two archenemies [ France and Germany ] possible . Don't forget that they fought three wars , 1870 , 1914 and 1940 between then . Two of those wars generated a world war , with tens and tens of millions of victims . Now they live in full peace , not only on a "piece of paper" but with facts , on the ground .

Someone doesn't seem satisfied, that the Europeans haven't been slaughter one another on a large scale for more than 60 years.

Growing economic instability and expanding Muslim masses will have their way with you in the years to come.
