31. Iran
Prof. Taheri ,   Manchester, UK   (10.17.12)
The details of an Israeli attack on Iran are revealed in Jonathan Bloomfield’s award-winning book, “Palestine.”
32. ALL Jews are Israeites--Israelis
David N. ,   Haifa, ISRAEL   (10.17.12)
Once, we were all sons and daughters of Israel, Israelites, or in modern grammar and useage: Israelis. This idea that a Jew is one thing, and an Israeli another, is unhistorical, relatively recent, and destructive to us all. "Jew" at best was a synonym for Israelite in the remnant state of ancient Judea. But Judeans were Israelites, more than just of the tribe of Yehuda, Binyamin, and some Levites and Shimonites. A Jew in America is an Israeli who doesn't live in Israel. For whatever reason. Using the word "Jew" as a way to separate children of Israel at home, from those in the Exile or Diaspora, is convenient, but not accurate. So Jews in America pray as Israelites, but otherwise identify with a recent, secular legal concept of citizenship for their actual identity????
33. #26 ed, london
Michael ,   Haifa   (10.17.12)
I agree with every word you wrote. Furthermore, the mind boggles at the thought that this lady has an IQ even lower than that of Sarah Palin's
34. #4. Nonsense
Tom W ,   USA   (10.17.12)
You never heard of the "African" American moniker? The "La Raza" people? The protests under Mexican flags? Either group is more loyal to their ethnic brethren than that of the "old White" Americans. Ever since your deity, Obamao assumed power the intra-ethnic and race relations are outright worsened. Look back to history: Liberal (Marxist) Jews always attached more weight to their leftist ideology that loyalty to the "other" Jews. What is new in all these historical facts that we're starting to openly speak about it.
35. #15, Y-man: Please present the proof
Tom W ,   USA   (10.17.12)
Why don't you elucidate us with facts about the purported "betrayal" of Israel by the Conservative Jews?
36. #21 Istvan: You are off the mark
Tom W ,   USA   (10.17.12)
While the Jewish voting block is really small yet the lion share of the money and media propaganda provided by the Jews for the Obamao clan is decisive. Watch the Hollywood moguls (all Jewish) as they shover millions on their beloved Obamao. The biggest Obama donors are overwhelmingly Jewish. It's called "Money Power".
37. i don't understand what she is doing here?
(10.17.12)
go back to Israel if you not happy here.
38. THEY DIDN'T HELP WWll SURVIVORS AS WELL
ZIMBI ,   NJUSA   (10.17.12)
39. #4
R ,   Israel   (10.17.12)
Not true. The first thing most ask is where you are from.
40. what do you expect?
Michal ,   Lodz, Warsaw   (10.17.12)
how has Israel treated non-orthodox denominations of Judaism ... for decades? Fix this problem, finally. The author is a typical hypocrite.
41. glass houses?
shani tzoref ,   Jerusalem   (10.17.12)
so many assumptions and assertions in this article are problematic. i'll just note two-- it takes a fair amount of chutzpa for a yoredet to lecture others about patriotism. it shows an even heftier lack of logic to equate voting for Obama with disregarding Israel's interests, without even feeling the need to justify that assertion.
42. Idiot liberal Jews choose Obama over both America & Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.17.12)
Obama hates Israel. However, Obama is also destroying America's economy. Thus Obama's idiot liberal Jewish supporters choose Obama over both America and Israel.
43. #30
PaulZion ,   Israel   (10.17.12)
It seems you would prefer a coup d'etat and a military regime, in order to fulfill your dreams. Why should you settle for anything less?
44. Axioms and valued judgements
PaulZion ,   Israel   (10.17.12)
Why does this blogger think that it is automatically axiomatic that if you are Jewish, you support Israel and condone its government's policies? Added to this basic flawed assumption, she then has the audacity to call these Jews traitors who betray Israel! What arrogance! I myself am a Zionist and live for a strong, independent, moral Israel. However, I would never dare to assume that all Jews, especially those who do not live in Israel, have any obligations towards her. I would accept gratefully any support we can get, but to take it for granted?
45. A basic misunderstanding
Logic ,   Israel   (10.17.12)
Ms. Horing fails to account for the notion that one can hold liberal views, vote for the Democratic party, and support Netanyahu's leadership of Israel, and indeed this phenomenon was recently confirmed in a national poll.
46. Now I will vote Obama for sure. I am proud to be a Liberal.
Michael ,   California, USA   (10.17.12)
Shoula Romano Horing, you don't belong here because you don't understand that American Jews' priority is this country. American Liberals, Jewish and others, however, understand perfectly well that Israel is the priority to Israeli voters in Israel.
47. once upon a time in germany we thought it could never happen
in such a civilized ,   place   (10.17.12)
but now we know how pathetically wrong that belief was. The same will hold true in America. Soon enough people will see there is no place on earth safe. They will be hated just as much as an IDF sabra
48. If you were born and raised in Israel
Bruno   (10.17.12)
then why aren't you here? You lose all credibility by choosing to remain in the US.
49. help
john ,   toronto   (10.17.12)
I wonder why they did not help. Everyone should think about themselves, and Israel is not in an existential threat. People may convince others they are but everyone should think that only peace will reduce the threat.
50. Painful Article
Hannah ,   New York, USA   (10.17.12)
This was a very painful article to read. It suggests that supporting Obama is an incompatible with concern and love for Israel. As a liberal Jew who cares deeply about the future of the Jewish state, your accusation of apathy is upsetting and untrue. I would also add that last night women were arrested at the kotel for singing, as part of a celebration of 100 years of Hadassah. It is very difficult for American Jews to understand this kind of religious intolerance, particularly in the Jewish state. Sadly, this sort of behavior does have the potential to alienate liberal Jews from Israel.
51. Silly headline, Liberal Jews protect Israel
Marcus ,   USA   (10.17.12)
From self destruction , Nathenyaho policy made many enemies and Put Israel in a negative spot light, and war with Iran is dengering all the Jews around the World and strain relations with US and Turkey,
52. Israel's Jews we had enough of your BS
Mark ,   USA   (10.17.12)
You over there act do what ever you want, defy international law, make enemy out of historical Ally like Turkey, never listen America when they give signals that you are self destructive, war on Iran will be devastating to Israel, never listen US when you tried to put a wage between US and Turkey by blocking arms deal to NATO country, us American Jews had enough, time to change and yes we are voting for Obama,so that he can stop your none sense
53. Hey Moshe #18
Ben S ,   USA   (10.17.12)
Take your head out of your ass and smell the roses. The roses in the Rose Garden stink since Obama has been in office. Welfare up, spending up, food stamps up, deficit up, and in regards to Israel, you make him sound like Bibi's best friend. You are funny, but it's time to wake up.
54. Unfortunate truth. Most American Jews are detached from Isr
Steven Gilbert ,   Teaneck NJ   (10.17.12)
For many, even among the so called Orthodox, Israel is just a Jewish Disneyland, a place to visit and have a good time. No deeper commitment. They accept and will vote for an Adminstration that considers ALL of Jerusalem disputed territory. :((
55. American Jews see Bibi's lies his hypocrisy & choose Obama
miki ,   tampa   (10.17.12)
56. Israel betrayed itself
Gregg ,   Haifa IL   (10.17.12)
When Israel will stop segregation, racism and apartheid policies then maybe people will care more
57. Why Do You Say Liberal LIke It's a Bad Thing
emanon ,   USA   (10.17.12)
If there is no change in thought processes (a working definition of liberal), there is no such thing as change. If you mean trying to apologize for the arabs and actually believing their claims on Israel, that's not liberal, that's just wrong and baseless belief in lies. That is why liberal does not always equate with pro-arab and anti-Israel. Oh wait, now I get it. Re-reading my first sentence it make sense. If there is no change in thought, we are stuck with the ancient mindset of ultra-orthodox. We are stuck believing women have no religious rights, we are stuck with a separation of women from men and stuck believing it is OK to throw acid or bleach at someone because you don't like the way they dress. Yeah, makes sense now.
58. #20 you said it best
Debbie ,   Israel   (10.17.12)
As an Israeli American - I vote Obama from Israel. As A woman I vote Obama. Shoula - you are just hot air - you care about Israel, don't live in America - come home, or is life too good there for you. As most of the educated people know Republicans are only out for the rich. My dear lady you are full of it, you don't care about us in Israel - you only care about your rich pockets.
59. It's obvious what happened in Germany
Paul ,   Jerusalem   (10.17.12)
We are seeing it all over again. The Liberal extremists, true to their self-serving ego, run to grab power. Obsessively retaining that power is what their lives become. Even at the expense of selling their souls, and their own security. After 2,000 years we Jews know that the Liberal's buddies are the same people that turned against Jews throughout history. Does anyone truly believe that the people that surround Obama, won't decide Jews to be the enemy of their radical ideology? History repeats itself. What a false existence, I pity Jewish Obama supporters on every level.
60. You can thank Nethanyahu for this awful statistic
brian ,   London   (10.17.12)
Nethanyahu's greatest success has been to loose respect, friendship and support for Israel. And I am not saying that he should've given in to Obama or Palestinian demands (that is a convenient alibi), but the way he goes about things, the games he plays and his narrow, condescending and arrogant approach has dug Israel in to the hardest situation it has ever known. Nethanyahu then ignores all of this and is then great at blaming everything and everyone, both inside and outside Israel. He is a major contributor to why Americans are turning their backs on Israel and why we will end up with another Obama term (bad for Israel) rather than a Romney term (perhaps better for Israel) - thank you Bibi. Rather than praying that Obama goes, we should be praying that Bibi goes - for the sake of the state of Israel.
