Never underestimate the Palestinians to either take an opportunity to miss an opportunity or to cause chaos wherever they go. Jordan, Libya, Lebanon and now the U.N. which will lose the funding from the United States if they grant the Palestinians non-Member status. The fatted UN Bureaucrats can warn the United States that it cannot withhold funding but maybe after eating on paper plates dining on Pizza rather than caviar they will finally get their feet on planet Earth. If the Palestinians are granted the status they seek any US Politician that votes to continue funding the UN will have committed political suicide.

IMO the PA´s will suceed in getting what they want. Lots of people see them as suffering people, rather than the terrorists some of them are.

I don't know of any American citizen in my circle who isn't totally sick of the hypocrisy that goes on in the UN. Most would like to stick it on a barge and ship it out to sea. Why should the US pay 22% of the UN budget. That is crazy. China, Russia, Japan and Europe should step up. 20 years ago we could afford to swallow that in a blink of the eye, but not any more. The US should cut all aid to all nations and organizations and focus on internal matters only.

There is no good reason to give the U.N. a single penny. The world would be far better off without it.
