His devotion to Torah and the Jewish People seems to be sincere, but he still broke US law. A convicted felon who is not a US citizen, even if he has a Green Card, is subject to deportation. That was Shyne's status, he was a felon who was just a permanent resident, not a citizen. He did his time and was released, but was still liable for deportation. That's US immigration law. If he is so proud to be a Jew and an Israeli, he can stay here and learn Torah and raise a Jewish family here.
