Depends whether you believe using documents to prove that the IDF was disregarding court orders is treason, or an attempt to safeguard the democratic nature of the State of Israel, and to prevent it turning into a country run by the military. I happen to believe the latter. Anat Kam is a hero.

Anat Kam may not be a traitor on paper the taxpayer paid to get her a good lawyer but when you steal classified documents and hand them over to a reporter for the express purpose of them being published is treachery. Bradley Maning stole classified material from the US military and gave it to Wikileaks to publish. Where is the difference between to what Kam & Bradly Maning did? Bradly Manning is facing prison till the day he dies but Kam gets a cushy 4.5 years which she will probably only serve half of. Uri Blau who used them & refused to hand them all to Shin Bet on the grounds he is a journalist got 4 months community service. Since getting his joke of a punishment because the courts were afraid of his press card Kam has appealed and said her sentence is to harsh. Jonathan Pollard in Israel is a hero but he did break the American laws on treachery so in the US he has rightly been charged with treachery. In Pollards case the problem is not he was wrongly imprisoned but because he has been treated much worse than even the most hardened communist spy. If he had been anybody else he would have been released on parol by now. The US intelligence community got caught with their pants down but to make it worse he wasn't an old fashioned Soviet spy he was an American and he was spying for a friendly country. The Israeli government at the time didn't make any effort to help Pollard to avoid embarrassment.
