1. Keep talking...centrifuges keep spinning
Jordan Ispalestine ,   Los Angeles, CA   (10.25.12)
2. What happs if 100 missles on Tel Aviv then become Nuclear
Joseph Kelly ,   Australia   (10.25.12)
tipped? In the old days, these same appraisers would have told us 'It is better to be Red, than dead, when Soviet Nuclear missiles surrounded Europe, and it was a real fluke Gorby came to power, otherwise we all would have been dead. Never again. Get them now before they become Nuclear, and instead of a few damaged repairable buildings, there will be a second holocaust.
3. 100 missiles on iranian population centers better than 100
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (10.25.12)
more useless meetings that give iran time to make a nuke that hits Tel Aviv.
4. false assumptions, false choices
tom ,   toronto, canada   (10.25.12)
if the choice were truly between 100 negotiations and 100 missiles, this article would make sense. but it isn't, and it doesn't. there is no evidence that iran's objectives have changed, namely they are preparing to make a nuclear weapon. so far, they have done nothing to indicate that they are willing to back down on that. the purpose of negotiations, to date, has been to stall and confuse america, to buy time to complete their nuclear project. at no time have they stopped or even slowed down enrichment as a result of the talks. their current purpose in renewing negotiations is to relieve the sanctions. to do so, they will make loud noises, and lots of promises, but they will not stop or dismantle their uranium enrichment work. (or the development of long-range ballistic missiles, which is proceeding under the guise of "satellite launch" capability.) and once it is completed, there will be nothing to stop the mullahcracy from using it against israel and the united states. so the real choice is not between 100 talks and 100 missiles on tel aviv, but between 100 conventional missiles on tel aviv now, or 100 nuclear-tipped missiles later. it's a pretty clear choice.
5. Yes, just wait till they have a bomb.
Mel ,   Seattle   (10.25.12)
Then they will make an offer thzt Israel cant refuse. Dont trust Obama on this one.
6. TALKING TO IRAN
ERIK ,   CZECH REPUBLIC   (10.25.12)
WE CAN ALWAYS SABOTAGE THE TALKS...
7. Why didn't the U.S. do anything when the people of Iran were
b ,   canada   (10.25.12)
protesting after the last election there?
8. Talking is great if it produces results.
b ,   Canada   (10.25.12)
Unlikely though, and precious time has already been lost.
9. we heard that story in 1938
Anshel ,   Canada   (10.25.12)
I love misguided people, who never learn from the history. You can talk to rational people, even if they are your enemy, however the mullah and Ahmadinejad are far from the rational people. Anyone , who is willing to put their own country through economic hardship in order to build the bomb is NOT RATIONAL. There is nothing to talk, because more talks brings the inmates closer to take over the asylum. And where are those facts coming that Tel Aviv will be hit with hundred rockets? There is a better chance that Teheran will be showered with 100 rockets within minutes...
10. Talk now, bomb later?
Jersey Prophet   (10.25.12)
Talking will reward Israel with fruitless verbiage now and the bomb later. Only instead of small ones now, later Israel gets the big one.
11. Orly
solomon ,   bklyn   (10.25.12)
“may be sincere” You base your dreams on the word “may”?! Dictators don’t care what their people think. Think again.
12. False! Pearl Harbor! Americans of all people should knowthat
Yaniv Levi ,   Israel   (10.25.12)
13. and so was Hitler's Germany not only the Nazi Party: it was
tom ,   tel aviv   (10.25.12)
also the German People. Yeah, right. Azoulays of this planet will never get it. I envy them their world-view: so fitting in a Barbie World!
14. The author of the article is an idiot
Phil ,   PA USA   (10.25.12)
The author of the article obviously never heard of Pearl Harbor. Throughout the latter phases of the negotiations between the US and Japan, the Japanese were finalizing their plans for a devastating first strike at America's main navy base in the Pacific. So when Orly ignorantly states that when people talk, they don't fight, it is obvious that Orly doesn't have a clue. In more frecent times, negotiations between Iran and various Western committees have gone on for years with no progress except for Iran inching closer to getting an atomic bomb. Ob viously, it's worth another try if the parameters for the talks are set in advance and a time limit is set. Otherwise, like the Japanese, talks were worse than not talking as it gave the Americans the mistaken belief that Japan would moderate its behavior when they had no intention of doing anything but continue their military aggression.
15. delay,delay,delay
Brian ,   USA   (10.25.12)
Keep talking and negotiating....by the time an agreement is reached it will become irrelevant. Iran has been working on this project for many years....they are not going quit now that they are so close! Anyone know how long it really is going to be till the have a bomb? Is it really next spring?
16. And when the talking ends....
Brett Levitas ,   JHB South Africa   (10.25.12)
and they have the nukes because of all the delays, then there only need to be a handful of missiles to change the course of history. Written by another ignorant left winger!!
17. Haaretz
Chamberlains valet ,   London   (10.25.12)
If I wanted to read Haaretz - which I don't - I'd be interested to read this drivel . The mullahs have played a blinder . All credit to them ! They are 80% there . A little more pain , not that the mullahs are hurting , and they will be up and running . The author is attributing western standards , morals and general civilised behaviour to depots . They want their bomb . All else is meaningless
18. You are a Lost Selfdeceiver !.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (10.25.12)
I Quote - Words better than missiles Op-ed: 100 meetings between US, Iranian officials in suits better than 100 missiles on Tel Aviv Comment - You are a lost selfdeceiver as according to reality. The Reality would be - " Rather One Hundred Missiles against Iran, than One hundred talks with Her " !. Your Propaganda only Deceives Yourself and Iran that is. Arn.Sweden.
19. Depressing...
Zeev, Haifa   (10.25.12)
Isn't it depressing to read all these defeatist talkbacks...
20. Arn 11
Daniel ,   UK - Jerusalem   (10.25.12)
Hi Arn, people like you who make provocative comments about attacking Iran amuse me. It appears to me that you would love to sit in your comfy little arm chair, all safe in Sweeden - and watch war break out on the TV while we G-d forbid are loosing our lives....Whether I agree with you on not is irrelevent...... Stop giving opinions on wars that will not affect YOU ....... Come and live here and then we can take you seriously.....
21. The Bomb is NOT the End Game
Tim ,   Brighton   (10.25.12)
Its what they will use it for Its nothing to do with Nuclear Rights or 'Medical Research' This is all about Leverage with a very big L Intimidation with a very big I and Coercion with a very big C Leverage to demand cessation of the Hormuz, Arabian Gulf Bahrein South Iraq, Kuwait, Syria and Lebanon FOR STARTERS And as the likes of Vahidi keep reminding us....soon the World will come BEGGING back to Iran for forgiveness' These people are High Stakes Gamblers...betting on a one way ticket to glorious Empire And if you think this is fantasy....follow what the Military Officers say to their forces........
22. Politicians
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (10.25.12)
"Britain and France had to choose between war and dishonour. They chose dishonour. They will have war." - Sir Winston Churchill
23. Nr 20.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (10.25.12)
Well - As you said about Youself is also fitting Myself - ! am irrelevant. Israel though is the hope for the World. when she enters the New Covenant with HASHEM, and becomes a Messianic/Anointed Nation, She would be the Blessing to us all. However, there is Nations upon Earth, who wants another agenda than that of HASHEM, Nations who would like to put an end to Israel, and as you put it, G-d Forbid As for your respect - I consider you to be an Ignorant Jerk, and my answer is for others to read and not for you. Arn.Sweden.
24. We are too paranoid to talk
ZionistBill ,   Israel   (10.25.12)
Just look at all the talkbacks that are comparing the situation today with that of the Jews in Europe in the 1930s. Anyone else think that nuclear armed Israel is in the same plight as Jews in Germany under Hitler's rule? If so, I recommend you up your Valium dosage. Anyway, what people don't realise is we're a very scared people. We're pretty much frightened of our own shadow. This is why so many of us want to attack the third-world sh@thole that is Iran. In short, don't ever accuse of us being a wise and strong people. We're obviously not as the many above talkbacks demonstrate.
25. Rubbish! Azoulay would have said same about Hitler.
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.25.12)
More leftist rubbish from Azoulay. As the worthless chatter between Washington and Tehran continues, Iran's centrifuges keep spinning out nuclear bomb material. Azoulay would have spouted the same moronic nonsense about Hitler. Destroy Iran's nukes NOW!
26. Negotiations are better than war
Mark ,   Cleveland USA   (10.25.12)
Terrific article! I wasn't sure if there were any sane Jews left at ynet. Judging by the talkbacks, your readers are too wrapped up in their own irrational paranoia to be able to hear the message. Keep working at it! Many human lives might be saved if we can avoid a war with our enemies.
27. #26. Negotiations buy time for Iran to make nukes.
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.25.12)
#26. Basic logic 101. Why do you write it's either war or negotiations? The negotiations simply buy time for Iran to make nukes to use against Israel. This isn't rocket science. It's obvious. Destroy Iran' s nukes NOW!
28. #26 mark
solomon ,   bklyn   (10.26.12)
Sorry, but it's you who aren't getting the message; Iran's message. Kissinger: "Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean that nobody's out to get you." (paraphrased)
