The Arabs are not interested in peaceful co-existence with Israel; they are interested exclusively in effecting the destruction of the State of Israel. Six wars of aggression, all started by Arabs and won by Israel, and seven decades of unremitting Arab terror and Arab violece are proof enough that they are not interested in peace. Since 64 years Israel is aiming for peace and since 64 years arab countries are aiming to destroy Israel. The palestinians had their chance for peace but at last moment notoriously refused the ultimate steps. Dr. Abbas, I suggest the 2-state solution which suits you: One Jewish State of Israel west of the Jordan and one Arab-Palestinian state east of the Jordan.

West Bank Arabs were granted Jordanian citizenship courtesy of Jordan's 1954 Citizenship Law. The grant of citizenship was irrevocable and included all progeny. The ICC has consistently ruled that an irrevocable grant of citizenship is precisely that -- irrevocable. By the way -- it is not expulsion. It is repatriation. Nothing wrong with sending Jordanian citizens to Jordan.

I keep hearing this and my question is the same. So if it's dead, what next? There are a few options. 1) Forcible transfer of Palestinians which would be the end of any support for Israel from anyone and lead to boycotts which would cripple Israel 2) Apartheid-like state where Palestinians are second-class citizens which would lead to the same. 3) Single-state for both peoples which would lead to the destruction of Israel.

It is about time that it is stated so clearly that the 2-state solution is DEAD. Abbas can "pound sand", hold his breath, yell, scream, cry at the UN or flagellate himself but it is over. Any of the surrounding Arab states can create an Islamic Paradise for the Palestinians or Gaza still has lots of seashore condo's available.

The two-state solution goes back to the Peel Commission of 1937. The Jews accepted Peel's recommendation; the Arabs rejected it.

If you keep the West Bank permanently with citizenship and voting rights based solely on religion and ethnicity, you are no longer democratic... if you attempt to expel every non-Jew in the West Bank to Jordan, that would be what's commonly referred to as "ethnic cleansing" and even the US wouldn't allow you to do it.
