1. rabin was very good but not a saint
mit   (10.28.12)
haber stop with your idolatry. Some way will be found but the fact is that rabin was reluctant in going with peres's way on oslo as you saw inhis handshake with arafat. and his idea about borders reflect likud and not labour ideas. leaders have to pivot and change to be real and effective. Oslo cost lots of blood and does not work because arabs are not europeans.Besides palestinians will be going to jordan which is at least 1/5 israeli from san remo and history.
2. Not all would agree
Carl   (10.28.12)
I don't think that the thousands of Israelis killed and injured during Intifada 2 would agree with you.
3. Absolute proof Haber is a dangerous fool.
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.28.12)
We know Oslo for the lunacy of the document. Even more; we know Oslo by the tens of thousands of Israelsi who were maimed and murdered as a direct result of Oslo. This ridiculous article provides absolute proof Haber is a dangerous fool.
4. It doesn't matter what the Oslo agreement says
Paul ,   Jerusalem   (10.28.12)
Why? Simply because the very fact that Israel conceded that it will give up these lands, means in the eyes of the world that Jews are not the true owners, followed by screams of occupier. Once Jews are willing to cede territory, they are declaring that they have no historical claim to these lands. So it doesn't matter what Jews think they signed, it matters how the world interprets it, and we all know how that goes.
5. I will ALWAYS respect the late Prime Minister I.RABIN.
Hot Snow ,   tlv   (10.28.12)
6. Oslo Gave Terrorists Part Of OUR Land And Legitimacy
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (10.28.12)
And it literally blew up in our faces, with thousands of dead and wounded Israelis; and it left us with a cancer in our midst that everyone seems to be afraid to remove- but one that must be removed. No: Nothing good can come of this. Nothing has and nothing will.
7. Typical...
(10.28.12)
No one word regarding the responsibility of the Arabs. Not one word regarding the war that followed Oslo which because of the Arabs... Go put your head back in the sand.
8. Myopic nionsense prven time and time again..there will never
Al   (10.28.12)
be peace with Israels neighbours. They want you dead...your constant bleeping is sohpmoric and moronic at best. Oslo bought Israel over 2000 dead, 10K wounded, rockets falling all over the south and governments that are both toothless and useless. What you dim lights are good at is pissing on eachother day in day out, while the enemy inches closer and closer to annihilate you. Yes thats how dumb you are.
9. Rabin was a fool!!!
Jake Stone ,   USA   (10.28.12)
You saw what happened to him...like others who tried to give Israeli land away? God is not going to allow it; whether Jew or Gentile, no one comes against God's Holy Land, especially His Jerusalem! This is just a warning...to all those who would try!!!
10. Yitzhak Rabin would have wrecked the Israel we know
Alex   (10.28.12)
While I deeply condemn the killing of Rabin or any person, I'm not saddened by the fact it happened. It might very well have saved the Zionist Israel we know. While I consider myself Liberal-Right and am not very fond of Israel-Beitenu, it's obvious they have the only realistic solution for peace and Israel to remain a Jewish state. Land swaps with Israel keeping all settlements in exchange for Israeli-Arab territories such as the "Arab triangle" transferred to the palestinians.
11. we didnt have to read the oslo accords
nimrod ,   nyc   (10.29.12)
it blew up in our faces instead.
12. Rabin's way?
michael Pielet ,   israel   (10.29.12)
Rabin a failed Prime Minister. Oslo resulted in the death of over 1000 Israelies and the maiming of thousands. Who in their right mind would bring Arafat and his murderers back to the land of israel. Where is the peace? Israel has created a terrorist state in Gaza. Does israel want a terrorist state in Judea and Samaria? Better idea, Haber move to Sderot and experience Rabin's peace. If Rabin's way was ever implemented the state of israel would be destroyed by the terrorists and the iranians.
13. how could he???
les ,   canada   (10.29.12)
a great patriot, warrior, good man, shake the hand, still dripping with the blood of murdered jews. how could he not see that no "accord" with pals can ever be trusted? IT WAS DEAD ON ARRIVAL!
14. Well, at least he is not "Rabin - Arafat way will prevail"
Miron ,   USA   (10.29.12)
I mean he can put the foot in own mouth as far as he wants to. And I will die for his right to do so.
15. Can someone tell me why
David ,   On this planet   (10.29.12)
Israel does not commemorate the assassination and death of Kenesset member Rehavam Gandhi Ze'evi. wasn't he as precious as Rabin?
16. You don't make peace by shaking hands with murderers
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (10.29.12)
מה לא ברור?
17. 'Negotiating' with Gaza?
Seth Greenberg ,   Raanana, Israel   (10.29.12)
Mr. Haber, are you proposing that we wait for the PA to fire thousands of rockets at Kfar Saba, then retaliate until they cannot take it anymore so that we can negotiate a weeklong ceasefire? I did read the Oslo documents. I don't recall the sections dealing with contingencies for the eventuality of belligerence aimed at Israeli civilians. Seriously, how can you talk about negotiating with Gaza as if it were a realistic plan while, as we speak, rockets are raining down on Israeli cities? Your Oslo 'reality' is still based on the fantasy of those documents. As for the rest of us, let us mourn the death of a fellow Jew, and pray that a Jew never again raises his fist against his brother.
18. delusional
avi   (10.29.12)
If you still think Oslo was correct..then I have nothing to add noone will persuade you what a tragedy it was.. I will just say Rabins murder was an unspeakable tragedy Oslo was a n unspeakably irresponsible agreemwnt
19. I read the agreement
Naftush ,   Israel   (10.29.12)
down to the list of vegetables allowed for importation to Israel. It lacks what the simplest car-rental agreement has: a mechanism for solving conflicts. What's more, neither side pushed to establish one. One could say on that basis that it wasn't an agreement at all.
20. Not according to the word of HASHEM !.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (10.29.12)
21. Victim numbers
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.29.12)
From April 1994 to nov 6 1998 there were 186 victims of terror attacks . How many would there have been WITHOUT Oslo ? Less ? More ? Who knows ? After Sharon's visit to the Temple mount , the second intifada broke out . From 2001 to 2007 this caused 542 victims . Also because of Oslo ? Here victims are the deadly ones . Source : Ministry of foreign affairs .
22. Speaking for Rabin is necromancy
Ilan   (10.29.12)
Situation has changed and no one can know what Rabin would work for today.
23. Yigal Amir also did not read
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (10.29.12)
the Oslo agreement. He only read newspaper articles about hundreds of murdered jews by arabs after the "peace treaty". This motivated his act.His punishment is too harsh and must be pardoned soon.
24. Bringing Arafat was the biggest mistake
Zev ,   Israel   (10.29.12)
I believe that Rabin was disgusted with Oslo and realized that it was not working. I also believe that if he would not have been murdered it would have been only a matter of time before he threw it into the garbage of history.
25. Rabin's path
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (10.29.12)
What is Rabin's path? For fanatic Leftists like Peres (who Rabin hated with a passion) and Barak, "Rabin's path" means their own sick and illogical beliefs. in fact "Rabin's path" was something far more Zionistic and rational: no to an Arab state in Israel, no to surrender of Golan, no to ethnic cleansing of Jews. Like it or not, the fact is that if Rabin was alive today, he would curse Netanyahu for being a Leftist and he would join Feiglin to protect Israel.
26. The PROBLEM here
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.29.12)
is that there is NO solution that can satisfy both sides . There is no human acceptable solution .
27. Copy of "Ministry of foreign affairs" text
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.29.12)
Fatal Terrorist Attacks in Israel Since the Declaration of Principles (September 1993) From the signing of the Declaration of Principles between Israel and the PLO on September 13, 1993, until September 2000, 269 civilians and soldiers were killed in terrorist attacks in Israel.
28. COMPARED TO NETANYAHU... RABIN INDEED WAS A SAINT
Rafi ,   US   (10.29.12)
29. Rabin
michael Pielet ,   israel   (10.29.12)
Rabin's way. Empower the terrorists. Arm the terrorists. Bring Arafat and his peace loving comrades to the land of israel. Rabin represented the Israel way of thinking. Which is give me the easy way out. For the Jews the easy way out will never be a viable solution. A better idea, no arab terrorist state in Judea and Samaria. No annexation of Judea and Samaria by israel at this time. Continued growth of the Jewish population in our homeland. Arabs remain citizens of the arab nation not israel. Arab autonomy to the extent possible. .Encouragement of all arabs to repatriate themselves to the 22 arab states, IDF has complete and sole responsibility for security in Judea and Samaria. In both the short and long run this is the only viable, reasonable decision. Rabin decision regarding Oslo was a reckless decision by an incidental Jew who because of his education, and family background had no appreciation for Judaism and the Jewish right to Judea and Samaria. Mr. security was in reality, Mr. Insecurity. Rabin's take on democracy, all those citizens opposed to my policies are propellers in the wind. A true democrat.
30. Israel would not exist today had we accepted Oslo.
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.29.12)
Had Arafat accepted Oslo and had Israelis allowed it to be implemented: Israel would not exist today. Oslo was intended to render Israel defenseless, with a nine mile waist; 15 minutes by tank. Oslo, and all similar approaches, are complete lunacy. No other nation would even dream of accepting such blatant evil transparently aimed at their destruction.
