It is Armistice day on 11 November... In UK the Vets Charities sell Poppies in the weeks before that. Those collecting report cases of being abused in streets and being spat on by some people.

The bit that wasn't included from the original report in the Independent in this particular report. Is that the UAE is in the market to potentially buy 60 Typhoon Fighters. Showing that a squadron can effectively operate in the desert may seal the deal.
5. Typhoons already desert-capable
David N. ,   Haifa, ISRAEL   (11.02.12)
Saudi Arabia is already operating 25 or 30 Typhoons bought from Britain. The region may be awash in Typhoons, as well as more F-15s. The UK AND the US love to sell advanced weapons to Israel's enemies. Some friends, huh? Bush AND Obama, not JUST Obama.
6. Has the UK got any operational fighters left?
(11.02.12)
Or have they ceded this to France as well?

Wouldn't woory to much about it, Israel is being given a squadron of F-35's curtesy of the US taxpayer

That was an irrational statement. Aren't we aloud to choose our own friends or would you prefer that Saudi Arabia, Bahrain & The UAE cut ties with the US and join the Iranian/Hezbollah camp with there trillion of dollars combined petrol dollars. I am quite sure there are some back door dealings some of these countries have with Israel. Why do you think that it is so quiet with Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Bahrain etc. It is not because they like Israel, it is because of the influence that the US has with those countries and the shared interest those countries have vs Iran and other radical elements. Not every thing is so black and white, so think out side of the box sometimes and don't be so narrow minded.

Saudi Arabia and the Arab Gulf countries are actually covert allies, and even share intelligence. They are also very hostile to Palestinian interests. Their monarchies are more into self-interest than Islamic extremism and Arab nationalism, and if not for public opinion, they may even have recognized Israel. Up until the Gaza War, a few even had trade offices in Tel Aviv.

Yes and no Vlad. The Sa'ud is NOT our friend, and not trustworthy. The Sa'udi rulers do not even trust their own people. The creation of the House of Sa'ud monarchy and Sa'udi Arabia and the wasn't one of Whitehall's best works. I don't believe that whatever intelligence sharing is done makes a wrong thing right. Wahabis ARE their own type of extremism. Again the US supports a dictator. And Britain, too.
12. to 11. Supporting Tyrants?
Lewis ,   Oxford, England   (11.03.12)
You are correct the UK & the US do support certain despots around the world (Saudi, UAE, etc) but Israel also supported the dictator Mubarak of Egypt, White-South Africa (you even worked on the atomic bomb with them) and Israel appeared very unhappy when the people of Syria protested agaist Assad (it's got a bit beyond protest now...) so it looks like Israel backs tyrants when it's convenient too!
