1. settlers
john ,   toronto   (11.02.12)
Settlers should not be uprooted.Jews and Palestinians should learn to live with side by side with each other.
2. You cannot blame Bibi for everything!
Yael Schlichting ,   currently Munich   (11.02.12)
Imaging a leftist government instead!
3. Two States
Jake in Jerusalem ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.02.12)
I support Two States - Israel as a Jewish state and Jordan as a Palestinian state. Better yet, that situation already exists! The sooner the Hashemite monarchy admits that it has stolen almost all of Palestine and allows Palestinians to return to their homes on the Jordanian-Occupied East Bank with full rights, the sooner this conflict will be resolved. Two States side by side! And the Jordan River between them.
4. Netanyahu has not deserved re election!
Rachel ,   US   (11.02.12)
5. No arrests for any crime plus budget of millions, 2nd class?
miki ,   tampa   (11.02.12)
6. In Israelthe largest party does not always form the gov.
Zev ,   Israel   (11.02.12)
Therefore if you vote for a strong rightist party you are not automatically allowing the left to form a government. It is all about who gets the most recomendations to form the government and who can actually form a majority coalition. It is time to make the Likud pay for its policy of doing what the left want rather than what those that actually voted for the Likud want.
7. Who paid you to write this article?
Jew1 ,   Ashdod   (11.02.12)
8. National Rights
Zivron   (11.02.12)
The whole of eretz yisroel ought be Jewish controlled because the Islamic lands did not offer mass refuge to the Jews according to the rule that Islam is obligated to protect the People of the Book .Many even admired the Nazis tho the Nazis despised Islam and Christianity because Jesus and his followers were Jews.
9. #2 You can blame Bibi, he appointed Barah
Yosi ,   Gilo, Jerusalem   (11.02.12)
and said nothing whenever Barah raised his hand against Jewish homes, did nothing and said nothing when Sharon evicted the whole Jewish community from Gaza and left it to those Egyptians. Looks like we need to vote for real right wing partys instead.
10. Ignorance
John R ,   NYC USA   (11.02.12)
That describes this authors knowledge of the law. Every country in the world believes the settlements are illegal and the Israeli Supreme Ct. as well as the World Court believe they reside on occupied land. It would be nice if Bibi enforced the law but the talkbackers who support this article are morons.
11. Finally END that two state solution b.s. talk !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (11.02.12)
STOP to act against Jewish rights !!!!!!
12. Take away their citizenship completely!
Dan   (11.03.12)
These people are not citizens of israel. They care nothing for Israel or Israelis. They put Israel's existence in peril yet demand that Israel give them its sons and money money money, just so they can live a fanatical fantasy. If they must live on the West bank let them be Palestinian citizens, and Israel can get on with its life. Bibi can do Israel a favour and join them as King of the Fanatics.
13. Are You For Real?!!!
yeah right bud ,   TGWN   (11.03.12)
When I read that settlers are whinning about being "second class citizens", being "thrown under the bus" and that their "civil liberties are abused", It reminds me of the scene in the movie "The Dictator" when SBC is choking back laughter, as he's lying through his teath talking about the "progress towards democracy" ... The truth of the matter is that settlers are the most priviliged, arrogant and spoiled group of Jews in the world, and when they lie like that, it also explaines why you are the most loathed. Get a grip and stop whinning!!!
14. Keep just the two great settlements
marcelo tuchman ,   Rio,Brazil   (11.03.12)
Israel just maintain only the two biggest settlement, and allocate the other settlers in Israel, not West Bank. There is no other solution, unhapelly.
15. Boo hoo, cry me a river
IsaacG ,   Israel   (11.03.12)
2nd class citizens? With all rhe billions of shekels the "settlement enterprise" receives from us Israeli taxpayers? Between building housing and infrastructure, tax incentives, and the cost of deploying our army to defend the far-flung "outposts" we the non-settler Israelis are the 2nd class citizens when social welfare budgets are cut, and our education system is under-funded. Sorry, no sympathy from me.
16. The settlers are the cream of the society !
olim hadashim ,   tel aviv/israel   (11.03.12)
17. Very good article
Anita ,   Finland   (11.03.12)
18. Barak stopped housing construction?
tiki ,   belgium   (11.03.12)
Wasn't he minister of DEFENSE?
19. #18
nva ,   jerusalem   (11.03.12)
yep crazy huh? They consider a house built in Judea and Samaria a possible threat to security because the arabs (and the left) will attack it's owners...so rather than stop the attackers they prohibit the building. It's called appeasement ..
20. shocking
nva ,   jerusalem   (11.03.12)
it's shocking to see the complete ignorance of so many of the posters here. Haetzni's description of the situation is accurate. Most of the posters have never set foot in Judea and Samaria and apparently know nothing of the history here. But i am actually encouraged by the joining of Lieberman's party with Likud. But like the article says Bibi has some restitution to do...removing Barak and accepting the Levy report will go a long long way to bring some justice.
21. This article: disservice to the state
Margie   (11.03.12)
Using hysterical terms like brutal about the Jewish state legitimises the concept in the eyes of our enemies. You are spoiling the future for your children by telling the world that you will slander your brothers and sisters to gain political advantage. Rein in your lashon hora. Shame on you!
22. If the right voted for National Union....
Steve   (11.03.12)
If the right voted for National Union it would be a force to be reckoned with. To my knowledge, NU does not support the two state solution. NU supports Jews living in all of historic Israel. Why does the right vote Likud?
23. Africans illegals get better treat than Jews...
Phoenix ,   Israel   (11.03.12)
In our own state all the damn illegals from Africa, Asia and every damn third world hole live here with no bother while the state persecute its own citizens.
24. Margie @21: I think you are wrong.
Steve   (11.03.12)
"Brutal" applies to the use of violence by Jews toward fellow Jews, whose only "crime" is living in our land. Elyakim Haetzni uses the term advisedly. That is not lashon hara. You should be ashamed of yourself for making such an unfair accusation toward a fellow Jew whose position visa vis our land is based in righteousness and law.
25. Lashon ha Ra
Margie   (11.03.12)
\HaEitzni the state belongs to us all. Your talking of sadistic razing of home and property brings shande on the whole state, which is one of the reasons that many won't vote for you and your party
26. #24
nva ,   jerusalem   (11.03.12)
Thank you for stating this. Elyakim Haetzni is a man of integrity and his love for this country is indisputable. If "brutal" is not a description of the violent way the yassamniks have treated so many in Judea and Samaria, then brutal is a useless word. I myself have witnessed many violent attacks against defenseless and unarmed fellow jews, and i most certainly would describe the attacks as brutal. That, Margie, is the shame, not Haetzni's honest description of it.
27. #25
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (11.03.12)
do we have to add stupidity here?
28. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.04.12)
Do you know the difference between sovereign territory and non-sovereign territory? By the way, the Israeli Supreme Court can voice its opinion, but it has no jurisdiction in Judea and Samaria. Only when Judea and Samaria are annexed, will the Israeli Supreme Court have jurisdiction. But when Judea and Samaria are annexed, all the illegal Arab squatters will be repatriated to Jordan, country of their citizenship. Jordan's 1954 Citizenship Law bestowed Jordanian citizenship upon all West Bank Arabs and their progeny irrevocably. Of course, Jordan has tried to rescind that law, but the ICJ has consistently ruled that an irrevocable grant of citizenship is precisely that -- irrevocable. You didn't do your homework, John. That makes you the moron. Or is it just that you're unhappy because international law and convention do not support your set of "facts."
29. To: No. 15
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.04.12)
If it is social welfare budgets that you are worrying about, shouldn't you be manning the ramparts calling for the immediate deportation of African illegals? Heaven knows they consume well over 60 percent .....
30. Settlers are a cancer on the body of Israel
