1. Since when do arabs run Israel's IDF?
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (11.02.12)
Since never.
2. Most arab christians don't realize...
Tim ,   UK   (11.02.12)
that the New Testament (=covenant) was written entirely by Jews (Luke was a convert) , that the New Covenant is made with the Jewish people (Jeremiah 31:31) and that they Jewish messiah who is returning to his Jewish people in the Land that God gave to them. These people in no way represent the teaching of Jesus Christ and the New Testament. This is just the corruption of man within a distorted 'christian' framework. I can only respect and congratulate those christian Arabs who realize that they are, by definition, obligated to support the Jewish people and their position in the whole of Israel (including judea, samaria, golan...) It is a very serious matter - support and defend Israel against corrupted, evil nations who hate Israel (this does not mean supporting every action, or supporting judaism's claims) , or align with Islam (and other opponents) , the religion which says God has no son and which brings bloodshed to everywhere it touches.
3. Dr. Hakim, et al
Devorah   (11.02.12)
To prevent someone, I don't care their age, from a noble aspiration such as national or military service, is to slaughter that person's soul and, in turn, your own.
4. Christian enlistment
Edouard ,   Montreal Canada   (11.02.12)
This is a very very good thing to see that some Arabs want to join the idf They will have a beter chance in life after serving they country like any other Israeli it would be even beter when I'll see Moslem enlisting as well
5. 2 types of Christians in Israel.
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (11.02.12)
It seems to me that in Israel there must be culturally Islamic Christians and Christians who have realised that they don't need to humble themselves to Islam in this free society. Hakim appears to represent the Islamic Christians...the sort who support Fatah. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
6. Not surprised
TLindemann ,   Canada   (11.02.12)
Many so-called Christian leaders, either in ignorance or on purpose, are trying to keep Israel from uniting. By teaching their congregants the Torah has been "done away with" and that Jesus (Yeshua) and that all the Jewish or any grafted-in emissaries taught the same is nothing short of blasphemy. Anti-Semitism in the church is, unfortunately, entrenched. A true non-Jewish follower of Messiah knows they are grafted in. In Jeremiah 31, it is obvious HaShem made a covenant with Israel and Judah, ie both kingdoms, ONLY -- anyone who wishes to participate needs to change their citizenship, if you will, from Gentile to Israel (as in the nation), as did Ruth the Moabitess. HaShem wants A people, not two or three different sects. It is encouraging to see that the young Arab Christians understand they are one with Israel. It is equally, if not more encouraging, that their parents support these young people. May HaShem bless you for your love and faithfulness.
7. misleading
european   (11.03.12)
this really has nothing to do with christians. it has all to do with your problems with your first cousins, arabs. although considering that israelis are burning and desecrating holy christian places, i wouldn't be surprised if somebody refused to serve purely on religious grounds.
8. Reading these first talkbacks I wonder..
Beary White ,   Norway   (11.03.12)
..why? Is it true that jews do not realize the islamic followers, in every f...ing islamic countries want to remove Israel from the map and push the jews into the sea, even if they say the opposite? What happened in Hebron in 1929, where muslims friends and neighbors in a very unpleasant way showed how much they loved their jewish neoghbors...killing 67 jews, or should it be a hoax?
9. So .... reduce their benefits
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.03.12)
Israel is a Jewish state. All Jews are welcome, whether they wish to serve in the military or do national service or not. They have no place to go. But non-Jews? That's another story. If they refuse to serve, they should find their access to Israeli medical care, Israeli social services and other amenities now comes at a cost. Think of it as a dhimmi tax, in reverse. If they don't like it, they are free to move to any of the twenty-plus Arab countries where Christians are routinely slaughtered. Biting the hand that feeds and succors you? I don't think so. Let them try their luck in Egypt (snicker) or Saudi Arabia (guffaw).
10. Made up statistics.
Daoud ,   Ramallah, Palestine   (11.03.12)
According to statistics from 2009, 85% of Arabs to join the IDF were Druze and virtually the rest were bendouins- who are 99% Muslim. In fact they said that only a few dozen of the Arabs in the IDF are Christian. Now 3 years later there are 570???? I am very glad that the majority of Christian leaders are not caving into Zionist Jewish demands. Palestinian Christians are just as Palestinian as Muslims. One people, one history and the same reality. Since 9/11 Jews have tried very hard to divide Palestinian communities, especially Muslim and Christians, because they want to portray the Palestinian/Israeli conflict as Jews vs radical Muslims. But it is nothing but lies- the Zionists greatest asset. God bless Palestinian Christians and Muslims and protect them from the lies of the European Jews(So called "Israeli's")
11. make gaza the new siberia
bernard ross   (11.03.12)
send all the anti israel detractors to gaza to live with hamas
12. 1 since when do Americans run Israel's IDF?
Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (11.03.12)
Since never. Bored of so called "bad assed" Jews - hiding behind their computer monitors in America - trying to tell us Israelis what we are and are not to do. If you are so bad-assed then get yourself over to Israel and show us!!
13. What's their problem?
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (11.03.12)
I can understand Christians and Muslims refusing to serve in the IDF, but why do they object to doing volunteer work in their own ethnic/religious communities? It's curious that there is a campaign against the Haredi yeshivah students for not joining the IDF, but an acceptance that Israeli Arabs can opt out of even alternative national service.
