1. This sentence is the essence.....unless you're schizo
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (11.03.12)
... for making cannabis more readily available... " We know how to extend life, but sometimes it's not pleasant and can cause a great deal of suffering, so we're looking to alleviate this, to add quality to longevity ," Pharmaceutical companies RD try to mimic nature anyway in producing cures and compounds for 'our health' so unfortunately will probably lobby against it to protect their 'junk' for as long as they can. Doesn't it make more sense to use a natural non-toxic product?
2. Washington State might be the first to legalize Marijuana
bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (11.03.12)
it's on the ballot and looks, from early polling, like it may pass. It is the second cash crop ( non taxable ) in America time to make it legal, regulate the sales and collect taxes. Also, this would allow the police to focus on more important matters like violent crime, rapes, robberies and of course, terrorism.
3. Marijuana is natures way of saying "High."
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (11.03.12)
4. Surely you jest, but maybe not,, Pot Head Society?
Max ,   Baltimore, M.D.   (11.03.12)
Israel trying to push the Pot Head agendda. There is no such thing as Medical marijuana. Marijuana is a Weed, not an Herb and has no medicinal properties. Pot head societies are some of the most useles, oblivious to reallity people on our earth, find me a bonafide pot head and lets see how long responsibilty and dealing with life on lifes terms is a part of their lives. So-called Jews have brought, guns, weapons, nuclear bombs, alcohol, wine, gay parades, racism, aparthied, taken spitting on people to new hieghts, punching black female public employees in the face,,, in front ot children,,, all to the Holy Land,,, and now Israel wants to sanction a glorifed Pot Head society,,,,,, Israel you are sick but "Reefer Madness" has never helped.

Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (11.03.12)
You're wrong, there's lots of medical and scientific research to suggest that marijuana has healing and anti-cancerous properties its documented all over the internet. The fact that you choose to be ignorant about that and point the finger at one of the most scientifically enlightened societies on the planet, says everything about the bitter and blinded person you've become.
6. medical pot
Brian ,   USA   (11.03.12)
Look at California, who allows "medical" marijuana. The anumber of users are not even known, since registration is voluntary. To put "medical" in front of marijuana implies a controlled registered use for REAL patients-which is not happening. It is nothing more than a 'back-door' legalization of pot. What comes to California eventually will make it's way east.
7. Double standard
cangaroo ,   zurich switzerland   (11.03.12)
Medical marihuana is the same category as iranian medical nuclear technology. Ridiculous israeli double standard.
8. #4 I hope you or yours never have to need
peggy ,   UK   (11.03.12)
the help of medical marijuana. SOmeone that really suffers isnt a pot head, and a person will grab at any straw for relief of pain, or anxiety.
9. #4 Kindly reveal YOUR agenda, Max.....
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (11.03.12)
10. And Max what about Morphine?
David ,   Israel   (11.03.12)
The socially accepted and highly used drug is similar in chemical compound to heroin ? But why is it ok?
11. #4 ARE YOU MAD MAX ?
DA RAP ARTISTE ,   SAFED OPERAHOUSE   (11.03.12)
Marijuana is a natural product and has many health benefits. Stop drinking the kool-aid and believeing nonsense and educate thyself ,because you have made a fool of yourself Max.
12. new strain
Merav ,   Negev, Israel   (11.04.12)
The article stated that they have developed new technology so that the marijuana has all the benefits with out the THC making the patient high. Also liquid or other non smoke forms of the drug. I think it's great. I am a cancer patient. I hate to be high so I won't use pot. Now that there is a way to have all the benefits without the intoxicating side effects, I might consider it.
13. To: No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.04.12)
Not earthquakes, I hope! By the way, medical marijuana is also available in New York and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It is rarely used by late-stage cancer patients, who seem to prefer Fentanyl patches, which calm the pain.
14. god's work
pothead ,   Israel   (11.04.12)
You people who are against marijuana would be greatly surprised to learn of some of the people who use it on a daily basis. There are many people, myself included, who use it daily or almost daily and are good members of society. You straights would be surprised just how many of us are out there and contributing in a positive way every day.
15. # 6 Brian an idea for you.
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (11.04.12)
REAL patients smoke pot, hell most of America smokes pot. Even our obama president has and so did JFK. Legalize it, tax it, our national debt will be reduced dramatically. As of now, the policing of it costs more than it's worth. 30 thousand people on the Mexican border have died over this 'weed'. Is human life worth that?? NO!
16. a# 5 Gil Is Max a "Witch Doctor"?
bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (11.04.12)
I suspect he is not a Doctor. My Doctor is too busy with patients to post here.
17. a problem
jpk ,   hadera   (11.04.12)
but if you additionally suffer from a heart condition you are welcoming a heart attack
18. It DOES have medicine qualities for some people and others
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.04.12)
use it just to get high, but it is hard to separate out those who need it and those who want it. The one thing I would advise is baking it into brownies or other food as smoking it is definitely damaging to your lungs and no I don't use it at all.
19. medical Pot
Roxy ,   Israel   (11.04.12)
Does help especially Cancer patients under going Chemo, it helps with the nausea, and gives them an appetite. It also helps chronic pain patients, by releaving the pain and enabling them to use less addictive alternatives to Oxycod and Oxycotin which are addictive. So don't condemn a safer way to help the people suffering from cancer or chronic pain.
20. I agree with you.
bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (11.04.12)
No telling how many good citizens are smoking pot and some are lawyers, judges, policemen, Dr's. and teachers. It's a shame it isn't taxed legally and help to reduce our debt and over crowded jails. Time to end the nonsense of locking up kids smoking pot and nab the terrorists and violent criminals.
21. # 12 Try it you'll like it.
bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (11.04.12)
I do believe G-d made many cures for many ills. Cancer patients especially have reported great relief from pain by using medical marijuana. Others as well with painful illnesses. If you have the opportunity, try it, it might help you,. Shalom.
22. # 8 Peggy You reminded me
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (11.04.12)
of a film I saw some time ago where British Cancer patients with terrible pain were prescribed heroin for the relief of pain. They did not get 'hooked' and used it strictly for the pain which it stopped. They stopped using it when the pain subsided. How could using marijuana be worse than using heroin? I agree with you.
23. #10 Probably because Doc's use heroin.t
bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (11.04.12)
Sad to say many Dr's are 'hooked' on heroin and we don't even know it. Young Dr's are put through an exacting schedule which is impossible for most people, their use of drugs is notorious.
24. Grass is Good
(11.04.12)
Many years ago, my colleagues, nurses and I would smoke "dope" to get high, or just to relax after a long, emotionally draining day, filled with lots of trauma and unpleasant things. It was only 10% AS STRONG AS TODAY'S MARIJUANA, But now I am in eternal pain, and I used Oxycontin in Australia which was great, but now I live in a country where it is banned. I take other things to relieve the pain, but they are only short lasting. I am all for the research and development of the "new" marijuana for long term pain relief for patients like me.
25. It is ignorant...
Mattan ,   Merritt Island, FL   (11.05.12)
to think this will only benefit those who "need" it. And they should have shame for using a holocaust survivor as an example to give more sympathy to the cause. My father was a holocaust survivor in a camp, not with chickens, and refused to ever smoke pot or do any drug. He was right. I spent over a decade of my young life smoking pot, and the money, and time, and mistakes related to that I wish I could take back. This might help some people, but it will also hurt many people. Most of the people advocating or medical marijuana do not have cancer, they just like being stoned all the time. I know. I was one of them.
