life in the UK.
2. this is politically incorrect...
(11.04.12)
3. upset because of Judge with beard and peyos?
Shalom Hartman   (11.05.12)
Looks like a typical case of anti-semitism - Jews being their own worst enemy. I did not see the program - and mazal tov to the winner - but there are thousands upon thousands of Jewish wives and mothers who do all this, plus working and spending time on chessed projects, constantly, not just for the cameras. Did she also prepare the Shabbat morning and seudah shlishit meals in advance? Did she remember to set up hot water and turn the light off in the refrigerator?
4. embarrassing nonsense
Dov ,   London   (11.05.12)
This is yet another series in the reality TV shows enforcing negative and insulting racist opinions. There was a series called my Gipsy wedding in a similar offensive style. The idea is to make ethnic minorities in UK look ridiculous and totally like aliens. The negative sterotyping in this recent Jewish mother show was reminiscent of a combination of a Woody Allen film and Der Sturmer. Many of my non-Jewish friends expressed their embarrassment also at a truely cringeworthy and offensice TV show! anyhow it got the ratings but I feel the publicity stunt for the Jewish News has backfired a little and they'll lose many readers.
5. And if she didn't?
Carl   (11.05.12)
And if she didn't does this make her a defective Jewish mother? How about did she support her husband and children? Did she help to create a loving atmosphere at home?
6. waste of time
ma nishma ,   modiin   (11.05.12)
If a doubly divorce grandma is mother of the year, I dread to think of what they will select for the Jewish father of the year. Sounds like a bunch of sickos and wackos trying to get our attention with their total nonsense.
7. #4 calm down Dov. It made me proud and felt bad I was not
Ben ,   tel aviv / london   (11.05.12)
being a good jewish boy, like my mother use to expect.

10. Re: Dov's comment
Aviva ,   London, UK   (11.06.12)
I must correct the comment of Dov that we Jews are not a minority group anymore in the UK.. I never feel the way you said. I was born as Jewish English and will remain as it is. Thanks.
11. #9 UK census 2011. Haredim childbirth.

David G ,   London   (11.06.12)
13. To Aviva 10
Dov ,   London   (11.06.12)
I hate to burst your bubble but the majority of the United Kindom is White protestant. There are many ethnic groups in the UK including Catholics, Hindus Jews, Muslims Sikhs Chinese Greek Turkish. Jewish British is just another group like English British Scottish British etc. you may 'feel' like you are the majority however you are not. Jewish British are a minority in the UK. A very successful and very influential minority but still a minority. A Jew can live in the UK for a thousand years and he will be 100% British but he'll never be an Englishman I am sorry to shatter your illusion! My English protestant colleagues talk the same about English Catholics. It's nothing personal!
14. to 13. I'd hate to feel like the paranoid loner in school
Michal   (11.06.12)
and never picked in PE / sports. How was it for you?
