1. bold statement ..really
avi   (11.04.12)
Even after drinking 25 beers I would have the presence of mind to examine the big picture and not get excited by one statement by a low life pathological liar like Abbas.Look at all his statements .what he allows in his school books , mosques, web sites,t.v.....Israel is not recognized nor does it exist....Anyone who gets excited by this latest statement knowing whom we are dealing with is like a junkie who after starting to go into withdrawal finally and unfortunately gets a fix.....wake up!!!!
2. Abbas's remarks
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (11.04.12)
If this story is true, then, as supposed leader of the PA, Abbas made seditious, if not treasonous remarks. He will be dealt with stringently, especially after Hamas takes over as rulers of Liberated Palestine.
3. Right of return not up for negociations
Abdalla   (11.04.12)
4. Greater Palestine?
Dan ,   Florida - Tel Aviv   (11.04.12)
I wonder where that is as it certainly is not anywhere in the Middle East. The fantasy of a right of return only applies if there was ever any place to return to. Arab "leaders" have tortured and ruined countless lives in their idiotic quest and lust strictly for power. 64 years of living as a refugee one might think that another path makes sense but no other Arab state including their native Jordan wants them as they are chaos in its purest form. I think their truest home is within the house of the Secretary General of the U.N. He can coddle them.
5. What's brave? Abbas retracted very quickly.
Sam ,   Canada   (11.04.12)
Brave are the Arab leaders like Sadat of Egypt who offered peace and stuck to it.
6. Nothing brave or even legal
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (11.04.12)
The Jordanian colonists love inventing rights that are illegal under international law. First they do not have any sort of legal claim to any land west of the Jordan River. Second the UN General Assembly resolution did not state anything remotely close to their 'right of return'. Third it was a RECOMMENDATION Fourth it violated the UN Charter. In short they are still attempting to steal our 0.07% of the land
7. #3 Abdalla
Vlad   (11.05.12)
Fine. Don't negotiate. But then there will be no peace. Get it through your head, Israel will not open its borders to the refugees.
8. After speaking in English, in Arabic he said the "right of..
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (11.05.12)
...return" is a sacred one that can be given up!! Why do some chose to hear and internalize that which is said for external consumption, but reject and sweep under the carpet the more meaningful statement to his own people, especially when the one in Arabic is also etched in the PLO's Charter and the Charter of every other Arab organization fighting Israel...??!!
9. Not their homes, and no UN resolution support
Arlene Kushner ,   Jerusalem Israel   (11.05.12)
There are two very important factual clarifications to be made here. First Roni Shaked writes that, "They want to return to their original homes and villages from 1948." But the vast majority of so-called refugees are the children or grandchildren or even great-grandchildren of those who left in 1948. They never saw these homes or villages. They are counted as refugees only because UNRWA regulations say they are. More importantly, he also writes, "in accordance with a UN resolution from 1948 which recognized their right to return to their homes or seek compensation." But this there is no RIGHT. The resolution -- #194 -- was from the General Assembly and it was only a RECOMMENDATION that refugees be allowed to return. It was not binding and conferred no rights.
10. Return?
bob k ,   orlando USA   (11.05.12)
The Arabs of British created Palestine rejected the right of the Jews who had lived there for 3000 years, to independence. Jews had also returned to their homeland and were expelled from Arab countries. But the Arabs who rejected Jewish rights attacked the new Jewish state and then left or fled behind Arab lones to await the destruction of Israel. Israel beat back every Arab invader. The 'Palestinian' Arabs forfeited their rights to Israel when they went to war.
11. This afair
Mark ,   U.S.   (11.05.12)
This afair for both of these peoples is about to come to a timely end,,,,,,, mark my words.
12. homeland of who?
Chayim ,   Budapest, Hungary   (11.05.12)
"the Palestinians are forbidden from ceding even one inch of the homeland" ??? Their homeland ? When and how it got their homeland ? It is the homeland of the jews 3500 years !
13. World leaders should be interviewed frequently
Amram ,   Toronto, Canada   (11.05.12)
and the interviews should be widely published and faithfully translated. This is how the world will know exactly what they stand for.
14. Abbas is irrelevent...
Nour ,   1 State   (11.05.12)
He represents himself...he is just a dictator who will be deposed amd tried by his people very soon.
15. are we any better
Stan ,   Israel   (11.05.12)
Bibi says that he agrees to two states west of the Jordan, but what does the "general Israeli public" say?
16. # 12
Stan ,   Israel   (11.05.12)
GLOBAL CONSENSUS says that there must be a Palestinian State alongside Israel no matter what you and seven million Jews around the world say.
17. # 14
Stan ,   Israel   (11.05.12)
The Majority of Arab States have agreed to make Peace with Israel after negotiations, withdrawal, and the establishment of a Palestinian State alongside Israel. If it becomes clear that the Palestinians, AND ONLY THE PALESTINIANS are blocking the Peace process then you, and all the Palestinians, including those in refugee camps will find that GLOBAL CONSENSUS will not tolerate extreme views from either side. You will face economic sanctions including the end of UNRWA.
18. 3500 years from now the arabs will be claiming the "right of
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.05.12)
return" for the few bits of land left in Judea and Samaria that the Jews have not settled.
19. Abdalla
David ,   Haifa   (11.05.12)
go home to jordan.
20. #17 false
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (11.05.12)
You can have your own computer, and you can have your own name, but you can't have your own facts. There is no Arab state that has so agreed. All the Arab states say that solution to what they call the "refugees" must occur in Israel under negotiations with the PLO. The PLO (that represents less than half of the "Palestinians") has an irrevocable demand for unlimited Arab immigration to Israel. Just a note, they are not being fanatic. The PLO, unlike the Israel Left, are smart enough to realize that there is no place for two viable states West of the Jordan river.
21. Funny it looks like he has only one face
Ilan   (11.05.12)
Someone with two simultaneously diametrically opposed views should properly have two faces; one for each 'truth".
22. At least we know your not into peace
Harry ,   NYC   (11.05.12)
COld blooded killers just like Hamas should do there own crimes honey. Your hate will ony bring you down. I want Jordan to be free and Palestinians to find a home, but this ridicules o=idea that Jerusalem isn't Jewish and Israel and the supposed west bank are arabic. Yeah sure honey. That's why we have found 4000 years worth of antiquity in the ground. Meanwhile Mecca was founded by Jews and you lie about that too.
23. I have a key so I want to return to a demolished house
zionist forever   (11.05.12)
They waive the rusty keys and demand a right of return to these villages and the houses where their now dead grandparents used to live which were like paradise on earth. The fact that 99% of these iddlic villages have been demolished to make way for other things doesn't matter they have the key so they want to go live in their grandparents home. They have been brainwashed into believing some kind of romantic image of these villages and how they must never give up a right of return to these demolished villages. The only people who don't seem to have bought into this romantic dream of return are the few refugees who actually remember the place. Arab logic is women don't have children they have refugees and those refugees are born with a right of return. Its that reason why no progress has ever been made with peace talks because no leader can give up this right of return fantasy ( if they don't want to be killed ).
24. # 20 If you know so much
Stan ,   Israel   (11.05.12)
How would you solve the ME problem in a way that will guarantee the future of Israel?????
25. No coincidence that the Palest. public will not give up its"
Clear Thinker ,   Haifa, Israel   (11.05.12)
It's no coincidence that the Palestinian public is not prepared to give up its "right of return." The reason is very simple. Every day on TV, in schools, and in govenment-run newspapapers, Abu Mazen's Palestinian Authority inclulcates the"right of return" into Palesinian consciousness. Therefore, Abu Mazen himself bears great responsibility for the "right of return" being an insuperable stumbling block to a peace agreement with Israel.
26. ARABS have the right of RETURN TO ARABIA.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (11.05.12)
27. Abbas wouldn`t return, but all others
Nora Tel Aviv   (11.06.12)
should return ? That Abbas thinks that he is clever.
