2. You like the arrogant illegal alien, you take him, not us.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.05.12)
3. what?!
ej ,   tlv   (11.05.12)
where does the author come up with this none sense?! Does he take us for fools? Is it any wonder why upwards of 75% of Americans living in Israel have voted Republican for the last 4 elections!? It may be true that in the past those republicans who today would be considered "paleo-conservatives" were not genuinely friendly toward Israel, but that has shifted dramatically with the ascendancy of neo-conservatives, who see eye-to-eye with Israel. On Democrats' side, we see a tectonic shift toward the so-called "progressive left" with the ascendancy of Obama. Anyone who has been keeping track of what happened in Europe after the "prgressive" left took over traditionally pro-Israel social democratic parties. These new Eurocommunists seeth at the very mention of Israel and have allied with Islamofascists at every opportunity- to the point of antisemitic boycotts et al, to destroy Israel. THE LEFT IS NO FRIEND OF ISRAEL!
4. disagree
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (11.05.12)
Israeli politicians cause Israel more damage than any American leader. Rabin did not have to import Arafat. Netanyahu did not have to give North Samaria to PLO. Sharon did not have to ethnically cleanse Gush Katif. Netanyahu did not have to freeze Jewish construction. A US president, Democrat or Republican, will always push what he views to be American interests and not Israeli interests. That is why Israel supporters like Reagan, Clinton and Bush Jr. damaged Israel no less than Israel haters like Carter, Bush Sr. and Obama. That said, there are good reasons to prefer Romney over Obama. Obama's policies in the Middle East have been a failure, including support of Ahmadinejad, destruction of Libya and installing the Brotherhood in Egypt. The Middle East is less stable than ever with more weapons floating around. Second, Obama's policies damage the world economy. Israel, a country that relies on foreign trade, cannot afford another 4 years of Obama.
5. This is not the same democrat party of yesteryear
(11.05.12)
6. Wrong idea
Alan D ,   Netanya   (11.05.12)
Just lost all my respect for Ron Ben Yishai. Went right down the drain. He is covering his ass. That's what writers do when they can't pick a position and hold it all the way through......
7. For many years, in Canada, the Liberal party
a ,   canada   (11.05.12)
was the favourite of the Jewish vote. But the party and its leaders changed, and now the Conservative party, with Stephen Harper as prime minister, is seen as the most pro-Israel government and Israel's greatest friend in the world, while the Liberals took a decided turn to the more populous arab vote. I would not say that Obama has been very supportive of Israel in the past, and I doubt he would improve in a second term.
8. Sorry Sir!I really dont trust Hoosein,He hasa track record

9. false logic and wild assumptions
baruch herman ,   mitzpeh yericho   (11.05.12)
Congradulations on the mental gymnastics to come up with bad is really good and hostility translates to positive relations.
10. obama
yafe nefesh ,   nahariya   (11.05.12)
Obama is best for EVERYONE! GO GO OBAMA!!!!!
11. Obama's 'support" of Isreal seems to be very reluctant
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (11.05.12)
or at best for "show" purposes only. At least Romney's rhetoric vis-a-vis Israel seems to be lot more sincere.
12. History has never seen Obama.
rebecca ,   modiin   (11.05.12)
13. Hmmm. OK. Got it.
Gideon Reader   (11.05.12)
Openly hostile Democrats are better for Israel than both emotionally and practically sympathetic Republicans. Yeah. Sure, THAT bit of infoturd goes into the keeper box of partisan Bee Ess, from ideological leftoids in the "Legacy Media". Those folks who USED to have a shread of honor.
14. Ron, your write here does not make sense
mel ,   chicago   (11.05.12)
I sincerely hope you were not ordered or forced to write this piece. It really smells like propaganda for OBAMA. We american Jews still think that this arrogant president threw Israel under the bus and tried put daylight between the US and Israel.
15. Obama's Second Term
NYC Girl   (11.05.12)
We've already gotten a preview of what Obama would be like if he were to be re-elected, when he whispered into the ear of Dimitri Medvedev that Putin should just give him time until he wins a second term....implying that he'd have more freedom to do what he wanted. So what do people think that would mean for Israel if Obama thinks he'll have no constraints? I sure as hell wouldn't want to find out.
16. Is this for real?
Paul ,   Jerusalem   (11.05.12)
How can you conveniently omit that the Democratic party has become, increasingly radialized by Arabs, Blacks and the Left. It supports the PA position (which if you haven't heard, is an assured path to Jewish non-existence in it's homeland), it supports (as we all heard and saw) that the Arabs should get Jerusalem. It has demeaned and tried to shame Netanyahu, numerous times. The Republicans have been increasingly more conservative, which means they won't lie about Jewish history, rights and obligations for self-defense, even if that means treating the Arabs as the enemies they are, without being labeled as occupiers, over-reacting, or failing to throw more, self-defeating bones at the Arabs.
17. How much did they pay you to write this trash
(11.05.12)
18. An old prespective, we have here
Avouskila ,   South America   (11.05.12)
With all due respect Mr Ron Ben-Yshay's Americain experience of some few years ago: reality on the ground for the current citizens has changed if not dramatically, then fundamentally will suffice. We have here a complete changing of the gards: Demography, and the new assertive middle class that is not all White or Jewish in its mixt. The question of whether Obama will threat somehow the existential being of Israel in his second term, should he be reelected is very much appropriate, and should be analysed in the make up and fortitude of the Obama Administration, of today, and being somehow indoctrinary=ideologically slainted, Obama is not likely to change his aspirations as well as his beliefs that he has an HISTORIC MISSION to change the Geo-Political course of USA, as his affinities are multiple and varied which Israel as it is today is rather an obstacle than an element which will help him attain his 'dream state' (Fanon, Whyte).
19. Happy ron.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (11.05.12)
One man's opinion. If Obama is re-elected, Ron will be happy because Obama will push for a second arab terrorist state in Judea and Samaria. Ron will be happy when Jerusalem and Gush Dan are under rocket fire.
20. #10 :-)))
mark ,   ca   (11.05.12)
Maybe "yafe nefesh" but "baaya im a kodkod" :-)))
21. Ynet is increasingly a
Reuven   (11.05.12)
radical leftist soiurce. Romnet is clearly better for Israel.
22. History has shown that the most far-Left
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (11.05.12)
ridiculous delusions usually become the future for everyone, except the Jews. Why, simply because the Jews don't have the luxury to sustain any fantasies for very long, since they always become the target of the dreamers failures. Don't think for a second that means that a man like Ron is tapping into truth, all it means is that the Jewish world hasn't progressed to such a degenerate state to accept the absurd as plausible yet.
23. The Democratic Party is a menace to Ameria & Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.05.12)
Obama's Democrats are not the Democrats of the past. The party has been hijacked by the radical left. It is a menace to both America and Israel.
24. shaving Israel
Wang Zuli ,   Shanghai   (11.05.12)
Hi everybody, Please everybody know that in order for Israel to be shave is to be friends of China. If Israel repent and behaving in good way and come to China, we will help to shave Israel. A lot of regards Wang Zuli
25. The majority of Jewish Americans vote Obama, why?
Israeli Texan   (11.05.12)
Reason is simple, there is little to no persistent anti-semitism in the United States. Jews in countries that have huge arab or anti-semitic populations such as France and Argentina are much more supportive of Israel. In my opinion, until these leftist American "Jews" see some swastikas on their synagogues they will not understand why Israel is such an important nation that is fighting for the existence of all Jews.
26. PURE SPECULATION - AND LARGELY MEANINGLESS
Rafi ,   US   (11.05.12)
...trying to assess which party is SUBSTANTIVELY more 'pro-Israel' is fairly complex business ... What is key is that there are varying levels of US foreign policy: at the Israel, the Mid East regional, and the world overall perspective. Thus while a Pres could be "pro-Israel" on an immediate local basis , if he/ she are weak on the world perspective, their "pro-Israel" stance will not be worth much substantively. Generally, Israel, like most pro-Western democracies, is best served by a vigorous, assertive US foreign policy - i.e. Republican. However if the US is bitterly divided & weakened at home, it cannot effectively assert its influence abroad... so there is a case for healing & greater economic equity under the Democrats. One fact however is clear: over the past 5 decades no President Admin was as consistantly anti-Israel on ALL levels as Democrat Jimmy Carter.
27. Democrat vs Republican
Brod ,   USA   (11.05.12)
The writer's Leftist eye thinks the Leftist-Democrats are good to Israel. This is far from reality. History has shown that he is wrong. Democrat government under Roosevelt did not even care a hoot when Hitler rounded up the Jews and butchered them by the millions in the Holocaust. He only came into the fray in WWII when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. The Democrats demonized and hounded Nixon from office even though it was Nixon who came to Israel's rescue during the 1973 War. The Democrat under John Kennedy was not good to Israel. Ask Ben Gurion about it. The Democrats under Carter and Obama threw Israel under the bus. They allied themselves with the Islamist states in the Middle East hostile to Israel. It is true that the Republican under Bush and Baker was not good to Israel. It is because they were AntiSemitic like Roosevelt, John Kennedy, Jimmy Carter and Barak Hussien Obama.
28. Liberal crap
Dan ,   Mexico   (11.05.12)
Since when a muslim is better for Israel, are you on drugs or what?
29. It's okay. After Romey is elected...
SF ,   London   (11.05.12)
those of us who are sane will take away the razor blades, pocket knives, pencils and other sharp objects from those like Ben-Yishai so they can no longer do harm to themselves or others.
30. Why are most Jews out to lunch
LTC Mike ,   New York   (11.05.12)
I retired out as Lieutenant Colonel after wearing an American military uniform when called to do so for decades. I'm Jewish, but have my head screwed on straight. This article is an example of how Jews lose 50 IQ points when it comes to matters of individual and national survival.
