The reason most American Jews care for America and voted for Barack is because they care for America and Israel equally, and many care for Israel more. To support this reasoning, when Pres. I didn't vote for obama because he's very immature about managing money, and he cannot get along with the rest of congress. Here's why I prefer someone else: The logical result of Obama's deficit spending will eventually drive the gov into default. The U.S. dollar will be devalued, and replaced by a different International currency. The taxes will go up and everyone will be brought down to the lowest common denominator. In my opinion Israel will survive, and the shekel will beat the dollar in value. Threats will continue, but there will NOT be another Shoah. The problem between the two countries is shown in many of these posts. As an American Haredi I voted for the person that would have the most positive impact on my family here in the US. Not all of us can make aliyah! I think it's going to be a healthier situation when US Jews split their votes 50-50 or even 60-40 like the Catholics, and I believe it will happen once the demographic trends begin to catch up in the next generation.. If the US keeps going down economically, it's not going to be good for the overwhelming majority of the Jewish community to be associated with such a path.

I think it's not healthy for the Jewish community to be associated with any one party, because if that party ruins the US economically, blame tends to land upon history's traditional scapegoats rather than upon the policymakers.

Not all Jews in the US voted for Obama. I didn't the first time and voted for Romney this time ! I know a lot of others who voted for Romney and are Jews also. I am very upset about him being in office another 4 years and think that it will be the downfall of America. G-d help us ! We need someone that cares for Israel and wants what is best for our country, not someone who is throwing us to the muslims !!!
