1. Bibi Did Not "Gamble"
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (11.08.12)
B"H Bibi did not gamble, this is a ploy of the left. Bibi was a collegue of Romney and they are politically and socially akin. Some says they are friends. If your friend runs for president you gamble? These are only vicious, ungranted accusations that reflect only the ugly face of the power-struggle in Israel and will be used against the Jewish people.
2. No easy way
zivron   (11.08.12)
This Netanyahu Obama thing Is ludicrous the facts on the ground are some fixed some unpredictable.Furthermore both Israel and the USA are divided the gravity is centrist. The USA and Russia still control the world the dual victors against Nazism and the Sadistic Empire of Japan at the moment only these Two can destroy thhe Universe.
3. Bibi is a gambler thats why he called
Moses Mafora ,   Johannesburg, RSA   (11.08.12)
elections, to cement his positions. The building of new housing units in East Jerusalem just shows that he don't care about what Americans are saying.
4. Couldn't happen to a group of nicer people..Serves you right
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (11.08.12)
5. This author is delusional
Jeanine ,   Dallas, TX   (11.08.12)
Obama was NEVER going to side with Israel no matter what Netanyahu proposed. And this is only going to get worse with Oblunder's 2nd term. If I were Benjamin I wouldn't waste my time to piss on Obama.
6. Bibi,start today earn tomorrow.Doitnow before it's too late!
Obsessive ,   Turkey   (11.08.12)
7. The Bibi baby.
Teddy ,   Jerusalem , Israel.   (11.08.12)
"You can fool all the people some of the time ,and some of the people all the time". The Americans are really very decent, generous and good people until they say that its time to say good bye to shoddy behavour. Now draw you own conclusions.By Bye Bibi.
8. Netanyahu and Obama
Henry Tobias ,   Maale Adumim, Israel   (11.08.12)
Netanyahu did what he thought was right for the country. Why don't the Israeli media give him some credit/ He cannot kow-tow to Obama or anyone else. In two years the election cycle in America will begin again, so Obama will have to mind what he says and does. Obama does not have Israel's interests at heart, so Bibi must show some backbone.
9. Sima Kadmon for PM
tiki ,   belgium   (11.08.12)
I'm sure she will do a much better job, judging by her comments from the sidelines. By the way, it was Obama (because of his upbringing), who had a flaw against Bibi & Israel & Jews from day one. US Jews and the Sima Kadmons of this world just didn't get it yet.......they will!
10. The USA is a Democracy
Ethan Schwartz ,   Eilat   (11.08.12)
Israel is kind of a Democracy and the US will stay behind us despite BIBI, not because of him. It's time for us to return to the center and to representatives who know how to represent, not dictate.
11. So - As according to you -
Arn. ,   ZSweden.   (11.08.12)
- Obama is the same Fool as the Israeli PM ?. The only Fool as according to my opinion, Is Obama with his Hithere to Mideast policy which has Failed, and the One blaming the Israeli PM for it. Arn.Sweden.
12. BIbi & Obama
Cheryl Howard ,   Brisbane   (11.08.12)
Seriously you can't blame Bibi - Obama was never a true friend of Israel & only an ostrich with it's head underground could think otherwise! Bibi will just be his excuse - Obama has an agenda all of his own & it isn't about supporting Israel!
13. So only the American president can keep a grudge?
Tahl   (11.08.12)
Sima Kadmon seems to have conveniently forgotten Obama's shocking comment about Netanyahu to Nicolas Sarkozy, about "having to deal with this liar every day". Can you imagine the colossal backlash that would have resulted, had Bibi said the same comment about Obama? Ms. Kadmon has also conveniently forgotten Bill Clinton actively campaigning for Shimon Peres' elections in 1996. Somehow this was acceptable. Newsflash, Sima: not only America can keep a grudge.
14. Obama has enough problems
Sidney ,   USA   (11.08.12)
Making trouble for Israel would be stupid. Our economy is still a mess, kept going by printing press money. In two years the next presidential campaign will start and Republicans will again try to reduce Jewish support for Democrats. There will be little change in Obama's treatment of Israel. Moreover in the next four years there will be many more serious problems in the Middle East than the Israel-Arab dispute.
15. #1: You made the author's point
Isaac G ,   Israel   (11.08.12)
Who cares if Bibi and Romney are friends? Bibi is not a private citizen, he is the Prime Minister, and he has a responsibility to us, the Israeli citizenry, of maintaining excellent relations with the U.S. He took sides in the U.S. elections, something that was foolish and unprecedented. He helped the process by which Israel has become a partisan issue in the U.S., creating enmity where none existed before.
16. Netanyahu
A Jersalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.08.12)
The man seems to be suffering from delusions of grandeur. He is dangerous to Israel. Remember this on election day!
17. Blame the victim
JustWondering   (11.08.12)
Another abuser from amongst our own, who doesn't know the difference, morally, between his left and his right hand.
18. Powerful words
StevieT ,   USA   (11.08.12)
I have commented on this forum for the past few years about the dangerous direction Bibi was taking by meddling in the US political process. I warned that Israel cannot afford to tick off large portions of Obama's base without causing long term hard feelings. All of that said, I do believe that at this point, any animosities that exist are personal and have not yet spread to the extreme level this thoughtful author has taken them. But it is a very good article on an issue that all Israeli's should be concerned about.
19. #10 Ethan Schwartz
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (11.08.12)
U.S. IS A REPUBLIC !!
20. Do tell.......
Konniekaknie ,   Israel   (11.08.12)
Do tell! What has Bibi done or said that reflects interference in the American elections?
21. Bibi didn't gamble. He showed guts.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.08.12)
This author can't bow low enough to Israel's enemies. To his credit, Bibi showed some guts in his dealings with the worst president in American history. Bibi refused to pretend Obama is a friend of Israel. Obama will be a menace to both America and Israel regardless of what Bibi does or does not do. Israel must approach all relationships from a position of strength. Not boot licking subservience as the author, and Israeli leftist, want.
22. ms.kadmon is wrong!
oded ,   usa   (11.08.12)
bibbi didn't 'gamble" with anything. on the contrary, his steadfast standing or israel' interests and future are to be lauded. b.o is not a friend to israel, and the next few months will accentuate it someone like zipi or olmert would have bowed and kissed obama's arabic- inscribed ring already..
23. Don't scare us, u, stupid!
nelly ,   israel   (11.08.12)
Don't scare us,OK? Democratic party is anti-Israel, just face it.If America stands by Israel its only because our neoconservative and evangelical friends. If they are not in power -no support. So don't even try to appease a pathological persona in White House who acts out of revenge not geopolitical or other considerations. Unable to post comment.
24. US Vengeance ?
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (11.08.12)
American vengeance develops slowly until it reaches breaking point Comment - lf that istried to be exhibited against Israel, HASHEM would break the Backbone of the US. Arn.Sweden.
25. you are wrong. what we need is a strong leader not spineles
ralph   (11.08.12)
ones. bibi is the right leader. get lomert off the stage. he is an embarraseement.
26. Re: # 15
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (11.08.12)
B"H Isaac, what exactly did Bibi that substentiates your claim? I see that the left is desperate and invents untruths on the right, in this case on Bibi. And I'm not a fan of his.
27. Israel - US
George Morgenstern ,   Rochester <NY   (11.08.12)
Jerusalem does what's best for Israel, Washington does what's best for the USA..China does what's good for China and Syria does what's good for Syria...Every nation has a game plan.. These leaders are no fools... especially Netanyahu....he has brains and cohones... But at the end of the day, only Jerusalem makes decisions for Israel.
28. Obama backed Livni.....
Danny ,   Tel-Aviv   (11.08.12)
When was Romney officially and publicly supported by Netanyahu??? I don't remember seeing it. Of course he wanted Romney to win - he's a human and has preferences - and the two have been friends for years. Also....its not OK for Israel to choose sides, but the US administration is allowed promote and support Livni????? Typical media blowing hot air and Obama needs thicker skin.

anton ,   istanbul   (11.08.12)
